Real fast story,

A couple of weeks ago- Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “went” to Niece Jeff Eats’ 16th birthday party at Taverna Opa in Delray Beach…I told you guys all about the party on 3/8/15.

Anyway, the cupcake desserts were “provided” by Jodi’s Cupcakes & More and I gotta tell you, some of the best cupcakes- that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have eaten.

Nothing for nothing, Jeff Eats- knew about Jodi’s cupcakes long before the birthday party- as witnessed by my Jodi’s Cupcakes & More write-up (2/24/13) which is reprinted down below- that said, this Jodi’s Cupcakes & More is located in one of the dumbest out-of-the-way spots in an industrial park in Boca Raton- thus, the “out of sight, out of mind” label.

Between you and me, based on how good Jodi’s cupcakes are-the joint definitely deserves another mention on Jeffeats.com

A real short story for you guys…

Jeff Eats recently attended a big charity event…the kind, where on the day of the event- you play Zelig and hope that your tuxedo fits!

Anyway… for dessert, the event’s-sponsors had an enormous buffet of cakes, pastries, ice creams, pies—and 10 different types of cupcakes.

Being the public servant that he is, Jeff Eats “sampled” all 10—chocolate cheesecake, chocolate mint, pecan pie, espresso, banana cake, almond cake, triple chocolate, vanilla, strawberry cake, lemon cake…and I gotta tell you, these mini-cupcakes were sensationally delicious.

After the event, I learned that a small-hole-in-wall bakery, Jodi’s Cupcakes & More was the responsible party that had Jeff Eats dieting the next day.

Look, I’m no expert on cupcakes…with that in mind, what I do know—is that this joint turned-out some of the most novel-delicious flavored cupcakes that Jeff Eats has ever eaten.

Hadn’t been back to Blondies -since I first told you guys about it on 2/19/13 (writeup is down below)…Had breakfast there this morning and the thick-French toast still kills!

Definitely a great little neighborhood diner…just a drop too far from Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton home-to be “my” go-to-diner-joint!

For our purposes…let’s call Blondies a “neighborhood diner.”

For a pleasant change–no faux 50’s look or falling a-part “formica” deal – but rather…warm tones–semi-upscale counter/booth/table seating setup.

Blondies is open Monday-Saturday 7am-9:30pm, Sunday 7am-3pm. You can check menu/prices at www.blondiesgoodfood.com.

Now for the story…absolutely loved the joint. Recently did lunch…

Blondies does-a-beautiful thing, that being, it serves breakfast all day. So while Mrs. Jeff Eats and her friend Ellen where able to eat salads, I (or is it me?) and Ellen’s husband Steve–were able to stuff our faces on breakfast stuff at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I gotta tell you, Blondies makes an absolutely perfect thick-French toast and has a breakfast sub (3 scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, American cheese) that alone is worth the price of admission. To round out this story for you, Jeff Eats “forced” himself to sample the tuna and chicken salads that the ladies had—they were also delicious. Throw in a fried macaroni & cheese nibblet appetizer and a bacon cheeseburger with fries—and I gotta tell you, Blondies is an absolute homerun.

Let me wrap this one up…

Blondies was one of the best neighborhood–mom & pop diners I’ve ventured into–down here in sunny South Florida.

One final thought, for you faux 50s and falling apart formica diners out there…please don’t take umbrage with Jeff Eats’ “décor” comments—I still love you guys and always will!

* The Addams Family Musical: A Creepy and Kooky Comedy.

Jeff Eats just picked-up 2- 4/18/15-tickets for “The Addams Family Musical: A Creepy and Kooky Comedy” which is set for an April 17-May 3 run at the Sol Theatre in Boca Raton….

For you historians out there…the show ran on Broadway in 2010-2011 and starred Nathan Lane!

Just between you and Jeff Eats, goldstar.com is running a “deal” with those- $25 tickets going for $12.50, but that’s just between you and Jeff Eats!

Not that it really matters (you-know, what I might like you might hate and vice versa)-but I’ll let you guys know what I “think” after I see the-thing!

If you like-60’s music- go see Orange Sunshine! Just so you know, Orange Sunshine plays the SIXTIES- and only the SIXTIES!

The band’s next scheduled appearance- Thursday Night, March 19th…Mainstreet At Midtown… located on the north side of PGA Boulevard, just west of Military Trail, between I-95 and the Florida Turnpike.

The way I’m thinking…outdoor venue, free admission, tons of food/shopping joints, dog friendly, great weather (hopefully), terrific band- why not?
