Got a real good deli/bagel joint for you guys to check-out, Goldberg’s Delicatessen and Bagel’s in Fort Lauderdale.

Real simple tale to tell, yesterday Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats “discovered” Goldberg’s Delicatessen and Bagel’s and the joint’s food absolutely killed! Inside table/ booth/ hi-top seating/ outside table seating, reasonably priced full boat breakfast/ bagels galore/ salads/ soups/ hot and cold sandwiches/ burgers/ hot dogs/ wraps/ knishes/ desserts menu.

Now you guys and I both know that there are more deli/bagel joints in Florida than there are Chins in a Chinese phonebook (I know, Soupy Sales 1958)- anyway, I am telling you guys that Goldberg’s Delicatessen and Bagel’s ranks right up there with Florida’s best ones!

Let’s wrap Goldberg’s Delicatessen and Bagel’s up by saying that Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats. Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats absolutely loved the joint, its food was dynamite, service was as pleasant as can be, that you can check menu/prices/info at goldbergsbagelsfl.com, that it’s open 7 days a week 7am-3:30pm, that if the joint was a drop closer to Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton abode we would be real steady customers and that it’s an absolute must try!

Walmarts Decides to Remove Self-Checkouts at Some Stores, Here’s Why.

In a bid to combat rising crime rates and provide better customer service, retail giant Walmart has made the decision to eliminate self-checkout machines at two of its locations. The move comes as a response to concerns over theft and customer dissatisfaction with the self-checkout experience. By replacing these unmanned kiosks with staffed lanes, Walmart aims to enhance personalized and efficient service for its customers.

Walmart’s choice to remove self-checkouts is primarily driven by the high rates of theft associated with these machines. Neil Saunders, the managing director of GlobalData, states that theft rates at self-checkouts are reasonably high due to deliberate actions and accidental mistakes. By transitioning to manned checkouts, Walmart hopes to mitigate these issues and save costs in the long run.

Additionally, a recent study conducted by Drexel University in Pennsylvania reveals that self-checkout machines often leave shoppers irritated. Customers express frustration at having to handle the entire checkout process themselves, leading to a less satisfactory shopping experience. Walmart acknowledges this dissatisfaction and aims to improve customer convenience and satisfaction by providing staffed lanes.

The two Walmart stores where self-checkouts will be removed are located in Cleveland, Ohio, and Shrewsbury, Missouri. The decision to target these specific locations is based on feedback from associates and customers, shopping patterns, and business needs in the respective areas. However, Walmart has not disclosed whether these two stores are the only ones affected or if further announcements will be made regarding the removal of self-checkouts in other locations.

Walmart is not the only retailer taking action against self-checkouts. Dollar General, recognizing the high levels of shoplifting and mis-scanned items, has decided to remove self-checkout lanes completely from 300 of its stores. This move is expected to have a positive impact on shrink, according to Dollar General CEO Todd Vasos.

Similarly, Target has implemented limitations on self-checkout kiosks, allowing customers to use them only for purchases of up to 10 items. This restriction aims to enhance the overall shopping experience for customers.

Got a real good Chinese takeout joint for you guys to checkout, Happy Wings & Fried Rice in Pompano Beach.

Simple tale to tell, yesterday Jeff Eats amd Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Happy Wings & Fried Rice and the joint’s food was right on the money! Takeout Only, hole in the wall decor, reasonably priced chicken wings/ chicken tenders/ fried rice/ seafood/ desserts/ other stuff menu.

Let’s wrap-up Happy Wings & Fried Rice by saying, that the joint’s wings, fried rice, “krab” rangoons and french fries were delicious, that Happy Wings & Fried Rice’s menu- isn’t your “typical” Chinese takeout menu- so don’t go there expecting to find General Tso’s Chicken, Lobster Cantonese, Peking Roast Duck and Hot & Sour Soup, that the joint is open Sunday-Thursday 11am-8pm/ Friday-Saturday 11am-9pm, that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats will definitely be back for Round 2!

Got a real good “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joint for you guys to check-out, Aunt Lulu’s NY Style Pizza & Kitchen in Boca Raton.

Real simple tale to tell- last night, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Aunt Lulu’s NY Style Pizza & Kitchen (located in a requisite bombed-out South Florida strip center) and I gotta tell you guys- that the joint’s food was- delicious! Inside table seating/ small handful of outdoor tables, reasonably priced menu featuring appetizers/ soups/ salads/ pizzas/ calzones/ strombolis/ hot & cold subs/ wings/ entrees/ desserts/ other stuff!

Like I said 2- seconds ago, the joint’s food was absolutely delicious…

Last but surely not least, Aunt Lulu’s wait and back of the house staff was off-the-chart good! Despite the masks, dine-in orders and loads of take-out orders, the crew was extremely competent and super-pleasant in taking care of business!
