Plateau Music Artist, Bobby Brooks Wilson, is the son of Legendary R&B/Soul Singer, Jackie Wilson. Bobby has the same amazing traits and talents of his father, that many say Jackie Wilson’s legacy lives on through him. His adoring fans have dubbed him as ‘Mr. Entertainment’ from his natural ability to entertain and bring crowds to life.

Bobby is a three-time Grammy Balloted Artist with his latest CD, “It’s About Time,” and four Top 10 hits that peaked #10 on the Adult Contemporary Charts.

Bobby’s musical journey began after leaving the US Navy and residing in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was invited to join the world-famous Doo Wop Group “The Love Notes” by Papa Mars (Peter Hernandez Sr.) and son, Little Bruno known as “The World’s Youngest Elvis Impersonator,” who is now Pop Star Bruno Mars.

While Bobby was emerging as a talented entertainer, he came across many opportunities to recreate the persona of Jackie Wilson because of his uncanny resemblance, voice, and moves that were almost identical to Jackie. It was during this time in his career he learned where his musical skills originated; he really was Jackie Wilson’s biological son!

Since that time, Bobby has emerged into a Global Entertainer with his own shows including: “Jackie Wilson, The Legacy Continues”, “Bobby Brooks Wilson, The Motown Years,” and his latest show “Bobby Brooks Wilson’s Red Tie Tour,” due to the success of his latest CD recorded by Plateau Music. Bobby has opened for his friend Bruno Mars, and now stars in Clubs, Theaters, Casinos, and Cruise Ships around the world.

Many watch with anticipation as Bobby Brooks Wilson’s success continues to soar through the “Grace of God”, he says as the singer, the entertainer and the artist!

***** Myron’s Delicatessen, 1800 SW 3rd Street, Pompano Beach, Florida 33069 (800) 843-4753.

Last night I played some poker at the Isle Casino & Racing at Pompano Park. After losing only 22 bucks (just in case my wife is reading this) I and a couple of friends had a “bite” at Myron’s Deli which is located in the casino-facility.

Myron’s is a New York City Kosher Style Deli…the joint is done-up to look like a deli circa 1950s. Just so you know, all of the restaurants at the Isle are owned/operated by the Isle of Capri Casino…take a look at its website at www.isleofcapricasino.com for a list of restaurants/hours/and other details.

Last night, Myron’s passed the pastrami, corned beef, brisket test. The sandwiches were nice sized. The meats were as good as those served in your favorite neighborhood bagel joint. As for prices, $3-$4 more than what the local joints get…Hey! come on, the casino is like a movie theatre or an amusement park, you are what they call a “captive audience,” so you pay more, it’s just that simple. Have you seen what it costs to “feed” a family of 4 at a Heat or Marlins’ game?

You now know about a joint where you can get a nice deli sandwich, soup, knish…assuming Lady Luck hasn’t entirely wiped you out.

Myron’s is open Sunday-Thursday 11am-1am and Friday-Saturday 11am-3am.

***** Charlie’s Mini Donuts & Coffee, 1023 East County Road 540A, Lakeland, Florida 33813, (863) 500-1414.

Got a real good donut joint for you guys to checkout, Charlie’s Mini Donuts & Coffee in Lakeland.

Simple tale to tell, something like 16 different mini cake donuts/coffe/tea menu, order at-pickup at counter, handful of inside tables.

Earlier this morning, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Charlie’s Mini Donuts & Coffee and I gotta tell you that the freshly baked cake donuts were just what the doctor ordered. For you guys who right about now maybe wondering “Hey Jeff, what the hell were you and Mrs. Jeff Eats doing up in Lakeland-on the Monday morning following the long Thanksgiving Day Weekend?” Not that it’s any of your business- but Jeff Eats had an early business meeting with Publix’s CEO Todd Jones at Publix’s corporate headquarters at Publix’s Corporate Office, 3300 Publix Corporate Parkway, Lakeland, Florida 33811.

Anyway, like I said three seconds ago, the mini cake donuts were exactly what the doctor ordered, that’s assuming you’re into cake donuts, which Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats happen to really enjoy with our morning hot coffee. Just so you guys and Jeff Eats are straight with each other, if you’re not into cake donuts, Charlie’s Mini Donuts and Coffee is probably not gonna work for you- because there isn’t a yeast-raised donut insight!

Let me wrap Charie’s Mini Donuts & Coffee by saying that the joint is open Tuesday-Thursday 7am-8pm/ Friday-Saturday 7am-9pm/ Sunday 7am-3:30pm/ closed Monday, that you can check menu/prices/info at charlies-mini-donuts-coffee.business.site and that Charlie’s Mini Donuts & Coffee’s- Snickers Mini Donut is worth the price of admission alone!

ABOUT THE BANDS:

FIREFALL

For founder Jock Bartley, Firefall is a 40 year labor of love. Their layered harmonies backed by driving rhythms transcends many genres from rock to country to AC and brought the band platinum and gold success with such hits as “You Are The Woman,” “Strange Way” and “Just Remember I Love You.” Other major Firefall radio hits include “Cinderella,” “Goodbye I Love You,” “Livin’ Ain’t Livin” and “Mexico.” Extensive touring with Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers, Chicago, America and many others.
The genealogy and musical roots of Firefall run deep in the fertile soil of American Folk/Rock music. Defying industry labels, they melded country, folk, easy listening and rock ‘n’ roll, creating a sound uniquely their own, helping to define a generation and forever changing the landscape of contemporary music. One of the few surviving bands of their genre, Firefall has remained true to the founding vision throughout the band’s 30 year history. Firefall saturated the air waves with a string of Top 20 hits, earning two platinum and three gold records for their efforts. Their dynamic live performances gained them a huge and loyal fan base – one that continues to grow even now. In their current live shows, the band both nurtures and expands on their distinctive melodic sound. Their much loved hits are faithfully recreated with a freshness rare in live performances of such classics. With their newer material, they continue to demonstrate the diversity of the band’s musical excellence. In keeping with the times, the shows often include acoustic “mini sets”, which speak directly to their ever growing new generation of fans.

PURE PRAIRIE LEAGUE (50th Anniversary)

2020 marks their 50th year as a band. Best known for their iconic #1 hit “Aimee,” Top 10 hits “Two Lane Highway,” “Let Me Love You Tonight,” “I’ll Fix Your Flat Tire Merle” and “Early Mornin’ Riser,” along with their classic Norman Rockwell inspired cowboy album covers, PPL bridged the gap between country and rock. Original members Mike Reilly (bass, vocals) and David Cahl (pedal steel) are joined by Donnie Clark (guitar, vocals), Randy Harper (keyboards, vocals) and Scott Thompson (drums, vocals).

If you guys can’t see what’s happening in this country- you better open your eyes real fast!

Take a look at what the State of California recently instituted…

Why California’s new solar mandate could cost new homeowners up to an extra $10,000
California became the first state in the nation to make solar mandatory for new houses. Beginning in 2020, newly constructed homes must have solar panels, which could be costly for homeowners.
The state estimates that the cost will be offset by savings on utility bills.
Yet the added costs could hit “the affordable side of the market,” an expert told CNBC.

Recently, California became the first state in the nation to make solar mandatory for new houses. Beginning in 2020, newly constructed homes must have solar panels, which could be costly for homeowners: According to California’s Energy Commission (CEC), that mandate will add between $8,000 and $10,000 to the cost of a new home.

CEC estimates suggest that the solar addition will increase the average monthly mortgage payment by $40, but new homeowners will save an average of $80 a month on their heating, cooling and lighting bills.

Still, the requirement does add a costly additional expense to already pricey new homes in one of the richest real estate markets in the country.

Danielle Hale, chief economist at Realtor.com, told CNBC’s “On the Money” that the new solar requirement could undermine a segment of the real estate market that’s struggled to add to new homes relative to demand.

The added costs could hit “the affordable side of the market,” she said, where prices on available homes have been under pressure.

“It’s a very different perspective depending on if you’re looking for affordable homes, or pricier homes,” Hale told CNBC. “It’s already difficult for builders to build, and I think this is just going to exacerbate that problem.”

Will other places follow suit?

Although the law begins next year, a Realtor.com study found 8 of the 10 U.S. cities with the highest percentage of home solar panels are already in California, and more than six percent of homes in San Jose feature solar panels. The second highest percentage is in Salinas with 4.8 percent, and San Diego is fourth with about 3.3 percent “green” homes.

Phoenix (#3) and Prescott (#5), both in Arizona, are the only cities outside of California in the top ten. So will other states follow California and add the solar requirement?

“We might see states or localities make those decisions,” Hale said. “I think it’s going to take a couple of years before people see how the ramifications play out and what it really does for building in California, before they decide if it’s a good idea to follow suit.”

It all depends on whether home owners directly affected by the changes will embrace them willingly. Sanjay Garje recently told CNBC that he’s buying a home currently under construction in Santa Clara, CA that will come with solar panels on his roof — one year ahead of the requirement.

“I almost got apprehensive about it because we live in a free society and somebody is telling me I have to have solar in the home, ” Garje said.

With his home nearing completion, Garje found that after doing the math, he estimates his monthly energy savings could reach $200. He said he now welcomes the rooftop solar installation, calling it “the icing on the cake.”

–CNBC’s Aditi Roy and Yasmin Khorram contributed to this report.
