Got a real good “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joint for you guys to check-out, Aunt Lulu’s NY Style Pizza & Kitchen in Boca Raton.

Real simple tale to tell- last night, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Aunt Lulu’s NY Style Pizza & Kitchen (located in a requisite bombed-out South Florida strip center) and I gotta tell you guys- that the joint’s food was- delicious! Inside table seating/ small handful of outdoor tables, reasonably priced menu featuring appetizers/ soups/ salads/ pizzas/ calzones/ strombolis/ hot & cold subs/ wings/ entrees/ desserts/ other stuff!

Like I said 2- seconds ago, the joint’s food was absolutely delicious…

Last but surely not least, Aunt Lulu’s wait and back of the house staff was off-the-chart good! Despite the masks, dine-in orders and loads of take-out orders, the crew was extremely competent and super-pleasant in taking care of business!

You long time Jeff Eats’ readers know (or should know by now), that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats are huge fans of “mom & pop” diners…straight-up, the Coral Springs Diner is definitely one of the best that we’ve eaten at in Florida! It looks like a diner, smells like a diner, sounds like a diner, has the diner vibe, huge eclectic menu, delicious food, big portions, reasonable prices and casual friendly service!

Short story to tell, yesterday Jeff Eats along with four business associates ate lunch at The Happy Burger and its food absolutely killed! Inside table seating, reasonably priced breakfast/ burgers/ appetizers/ sandwiches/ beer & wine/ desserts menu.

One Sunday, when counting the money in the weekly offering, the Pastor of a small church found a pink envelope containing $1,000.

It happened again the next week!

The following Sunday, he watched as the offering was collected and saw an elderly woman put the distinctive pink envelope on the plate. This went on for weeks until the pastor, overcome by curiosity, approached her.

“Ma’am, I couldn’t help but notice that you put $1,000 a week in the collection plate,” he stated.

“Why yes,” she replied, “every week my son sends me money and I give some of it to the church.”

The pastor replied, “That’s wonderful. But $1,000 is a lot, are you sure you can afford this.. How much does he send you”

The elderly woman answered, “$10,000 a week.”

The pastor was amazed. “Your son is very successful; what does he do for a living”

“He is a veterinarian,” she answered.

“That’s an honorable profession, but I had no idea they made that much money,” the pastor said. “Where does he practice?”

The woman answered proudly, “In Nevada. He has two cathouses – one in Las Vegas, and one in Reno.”
