***** Winn Dixie Does Kosher!

Long story short,

The other day- one of Mrs. Jeff Eats’ friends- Andrea S. who keeps a kosher-home…was raving about how terrific the “kosher” food at Winn Dixie, 7024 Beracasa Way, Boca Raton was! Her rave-included that the bakery and the prepared foods were amazing.

Anyway,

Last night Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats picked-up a KOSHER WINN DIXIE WHOLE FRIED CHICKEN for $9.99 and a KOSHER WINN DIXIE WHOLE ROASTED CHICKEN for $6.95-and I gotta tell you both were absolutely delicious.

In walking around this particular Winn Dixie store…Jeff Eats noticed that in addition to an entire counter for kosher meats/prepared foods- there were literally “tons” of kosher bakery/grocery items all over the store.

Now nothing for nothing, in addition to the 2-chickens, Jeff Eats also bought a full rack of- cooked bbq St. Louis pork spare ribs for $11.99-and I gotta tell you, like the roast and fried chickens the ribs were delicious-tender, with a really nice sweet sauce.

Now you know and I know, that in recent years Winn Dixie literally got its ass kicked big time by Publix…I won’t even mention what Publix did to Albertson’s. With all of this in mind, Jeff Eats is “thinking” that Winn Dixie with this “kosher-thing”-in certain “neighborhoods” could actually develop into a pretty strong niche player. For sure, Winn Dixie will never-ever regain its former-Florida supermarket major league status- but it could develop into-for a guy like Jeff Eats-to being more than just an after-run supermarket-that I and Mrs. Jeff Eats frequent only when we are desperate.

Just so you know, those chickens and ribs-alone, will get Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats back to this- Winn Dixie for round-2!…and yes, I know that those ribs come from a pig.

Did you guys hear about the White Castle that opened last week in Las Vegas? The story was all-over-the news!

Las Vegas’ First White Castle Closes After 24 Hours

The Las Vegas White Castle opening turned into a closure in less than 24 hours — not due to frost, fire, or vermin, but because of overwhelming demand.

The brand new 24-hour White Castle opened in Sin City Tuesday afternoon around 2pm, but the restaurant had to close its doors after a constant stream of customers overwhelmed the business. The company tweeted, “Due to overwhelming demand #whitecastlevegas is currently closed for maintenance and to restock. We will let you know when doors are reopen!” (See actual tweet below.)

A White Castle Vice President confirmed this information with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, saying the restaurant was selling burgers at a rate of 4,000 per hour for the first twelve straight hours. There were no other problems, per se, the staff simply needed time to clean the location, restock supplies, and prepare for the next onslaught of eager eaters. The location reportedly reopened at approximately 3:15 pm Wednesday.

Las Vegas is known for housing popular “guilty pleasure” restaurants that can’t be found outside of their respective regions or cities, making them must-visit destinations for tourists. Casinos have opened such iconic locations as Pink’s Hot Dogs from Los Angeles in the Planet Hollywood Casino, and New York City’s Shake Shack recently found a home inside the New York, New York Casino.

The new 24-hour White Castle is located in the Best Western Plus Casino Royale on the Las Vegas Strip, which is a smaller venue located between The Venetian and Harrah’s Las Vegas. The next nearest White Castle location had been more than 1,500 miles away in Missouri

This is the third-time that Jeff Eats has mentioned this “event” (1/17/15 & 1/30/15)…now, not trying to be Robert De Niro or nothing (You’re good you, You’re good you, You’re good you) but if you want to go-YOU gotta move fast because- I am hearing that there are only a handful of tickets left!

I don’t know about you guys, but the guy-looks pretty healthy to me! I’m thinking that at least 81-percent of my friends look just like this guy.

‘Rocket Man’ Meets ‘Turnstiles’ is a charity event for Temple Beth Shira…so I got- no problem “paying” to see tribute bands-that I can catch for free at local festivals/clubs/other South Florida venues.

Let me ask you something…how come THIS GUY IRVINE doesn’t have to “pull” building permits and doesn’t have to have “building inspectors” check the work? You know why, because HIS SHOW is full of crap.

For crying out loud, you can’t replace a South Florida house’s leaking hot-water-heater without a freaking permit!

Based on Jeff Eats knowledge of South Florida’s restaurant industry–what Robert Irvine claims to do in 36 hours for 10-grand, would probably take a normal Restaurant Owner and a General Contractor (in Boca Raton)-$1,000,000 and 17 months to complete (I’m just guessing here, but you get the picture!).
