* 2015 Marketplace Music Fest.

The Delray Marketplace (www.delraymarket.com, 9025 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida 33446)- takes another “shot” at drawing crowds- to its ill-conceived power shopping center.

Down-below, the Delray Marketplace’s- October, 2015- November, 2015 & December, 2015- FREE CONCERT SERIES LINEUPS!

If only “someone”- during the center’s planning stage (2010-2012)- had stopped and figured out a DECENT TENANT MIX, the Delray Marketplace wouldn’t be scrambling to draw “visitors” on Thursday Nights in October-November-December. That said, “someone” didn’t- so you guys get to see some really good bands- for FREE! To be perfectly honest with you guys, to this very day Jeff Eats still can’t figure-out how the Delray Marketplace actually thought that retailers such as Jos. A. Bank, Chico’s, GNC and Yankee Candle would draw people to an outdoor center! Oh well, not my money!

Its loss, your gain! Enjoy the bands!

Real simple game…in the Comment-section (1 per day), be the fourth person to tell me the name of the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performer in the picture with Jeff Eats (for you “slow” guys-looking at the picture, Jeff Eats is the guy on the right). To help you out here, the guy currently lives in Boca Raton, his wife’s name is Sue and one of his biggest hit records was The Wanderer!

I’m thinking that this is a no- brainer! But we’ll see!

Jeff Eats wouldn’t exactly call this “concert” a battle- maybe a skirmish!

No-Johnny Maestro, No-Frankie Lymon, No-Carl Gardner, No-Ben E. King, No-Richard Blandon, Yes-Charlie Thomas, Yes-Herman Santiago, Yes-Jimmy Merchant, Yes-Cleveland Still! When you think of the 60’s Yankees-you think Maris, Mantle, Berra, Ford- not Boyer, Lopez. Howard and Turley…Capice!

That said, Jeff Eats has seen all of the “acts” on the bill-and they all-put on a good show!

As I’ve said many times before, you guys aren’t getting any younger, nor are the “oldies” singers of the 50s-60s-70s…so if you “like” this type of music- What are you waiting for? Buy tickets-and Go!

* 7 Reasons Why You Should Be Eating Pineapple.

Long tale short,

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have been shopping at The Boys Farmers Market in Delray Beach for years.

For what it’s worth, I always noticed but never really paid attention to the fact- that all day long, it has a guy/gal in a certain area, cutting and bagging fresh pineapples.

Anyway, about 3 months ago, I did some research-on PINEAPPLE…suffice it to say, a real eye opener!

Down below is one of the articles I found….it kinda sums-up just maybe-why you should consider “adding” pineapple to your every day diet.

By the way, no bs-here, for the past 3 months- I’ve been eating a cup or two of fresh pineapple on a daily basis- and not even once, have I had a bout-of indigestion- which prior to my pineapple “regiment” use to hit me at least 2-3 times a week!

7 reasons why you should be eating pineapple

Pineapples are one of the most popular fruits in the world and it is great that they are available all year round. They have exceptional juiciness and a vibrant tropical flavour that balances the taste of sweet and tart but most importantly, they are healthy and nutritious. Below are more reasons to love the pineapple fruit.

1-They build and maintain strong bones
Pineapples contain manganese which is a trace mineral your body needs to build bones and connective tissues.

2-They are packed with Minerals and Vitamins
Pineapples are packed with vitamin A, vitamin C, Calcium, potassium and phosphorus. They are also rich in fibre and low in fat and cholesterol which promote good health.

3-They help maintain gum health
Eating pineapples daily helps strengthen your gums which in turn will help keep your teeth healthy and strong.

4-They help alleviate Arthritis
Pineapples have anti-inflammatory properties which can ease the pain of arthritis while at the same time strengthen bones.

5-They help lower the risk of Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is the primary cause of vision loss in adults. Including pineapples in your diet can lower the risk of this disease by about 36%.

6-They Improve digestion
Pineapples contain Bromelain which has protein digesting properties that keep the digestive tract healthy. They also neutralize fluids in the body to ensure they are not too acidic. They also help regulate secretions in the pancreas to aid in digestion.

7-They help prevent coughs and colds
Pineapples are rich in Vitamin C which gives them the ability to fight viruses that cause colds. Eating pineapples combined with the right medication for your sickness can help you recover more quickly.

* Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 25.

Jeff Eats knows that September 18-November 1, 2015 is a few months away! That said, time to back-burner Hillary Clinton, Iran’s promises not to build nuclear bombs, missing Malaysian Airline-planes, Al Sharpton, confederate flags, nonsensical Donald Trump, no chance Chris Christie, the Apple Watch, Socialist Bernie Sanders and one trick Sean Hannity…and make plans to attend Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 25. Trust Jeff Eats on this one, I don’t care how old or how young you are, you will have an absolute blast at this “event”!

Printed down below for reference purposes- is Jeff Eats’ August 26, 2014 “tale” about Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 24.

Look! You’re smart guys, so I know that- you can “check” halloweenhorrornights.com and figure out how to get the best deal…

* Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 24.

Call Jeff Eats a wild and crazy guy…but I got something for you guys-that I seriously doubt you would have ever considered on your own…UNIVERSAL ORLANDO HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS 24.

Real simple concept,

On select nights, September 19- November 1, 2014…Universal Orlando stages a gigantic Halloween Horror Night. The full boat of haunted houses, “scary” characters, decorations, shows, rides, food, merchandise.

Nothing for nothing, Jeff Eats has been to 14 of these Horror Nights and I had an absolute blast at each and every one of them. Truth be told, I only had a blast at 13 of them…one Halloween Horror Night was-9 days after I had cataract surgery–the haunted houses’ lights/mirrors really threw me for a loop–then again, no one ever said that Jeff Eats was the brightest goblin in the barrel. So, be smart-think twice about “doing” Halloween Horror Night 9 days after cataract surgery. As you can see from the event’s title–this is Universal Orlando’s 24th year-trust me on this, Universal Orlando is an absolute expert on staging this-thing.

Just so you know, the way I- played attending in the past…Jeff Eats caught a room at one of Universal Orlando Resort Hotels (Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort) on a Friday-did Horror Night and headed home late on Saturday night. For what it’s worth, all three listed hotels were dynamite, with my pecking order being the Hard Rock, Royal Pacific, Portofino. Just so you know, last year Universal added another hotel to the mix-Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort-so you now got 4 hotels-should you want to stay on “property.”

Rather than my going into detail about Halloween Horror Night, let’s just say that my having done 14 of them should speak volumes.

On- tickets/info, check halloweenhorrornights.com. Also check universalorlando.com for tickets/hotels/info.

Just a heads up, be smart and “search” around-Coca Cola has a ticket promo-deal working…there is also a Florida Resident deal floating around. On hotels, the smart move is to stay at one of Universal’s joints…you can walk to the “park”–real easy!

Like I said before, I love- this Halloween Horror Nights’ thing.

Universal recommends 13+ on age…trust me, you’ll be more scared than your 8 year old kid or grandchild is…Capice!

Kids or no kids,

I’m telling you…DO THIS THING! It’s fabulous.

Latest Review: 12/23/12

Real simple tale to tell you, this Chinese takeout joint- makes some of the best bbq spare ribs in South Florida.

Can’t really explain it, but if you were/are- originally from Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Staten Island, Bronx-you “know” what this joint’s ribs taste like…slightly charred, not covered in some sweet tomato-sauce- like I just said, Jeff Eats really can’t explain-the great taste! Anyway, Gary Woo Express makes THEM!

gary-woo-asian-bistro

Just so you know, Gary Woo Express is basically a “takeout”- it does have a handful of tables inside and some outdoor patio seating-so you are now “informed.”

;

By the way, in addition to the bbq ribs- the rest of its food is also dynamite. Definitely one of the best Chinese-joints down here in Sunny South Florida.

Before Jeff Eats runs, let me mention two others things…

Gary Woo Express also has a real-strong sushi menu…so if you’re “over” Pearl Harbor you now know where you can get delicious- stuff!- and between you guys and Jeff Eats. Gary Woo’s prices are seemingly a “bit” higher than most of the other neighborhood players- so, if you check the joint’s website, there is a coupon-or two- that may save you a few bucks!

***** Gary Woo Express, 9874 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33434, (561) 483-8889.

Got an absolutely terrific Chinese-takeout joint for you…Gary Woo Express in Boca Raton.

Just so you know, Jeff Eats originally “reviewed” this joint on August 19, 2009…suffice it to say, I loved its food back in 2009. Anyway, about 8 months ago new owners took over and to their credit, the food they are “banging-out” is even better than the original stuff. Trust me on this one, Gary Woo Express is right up there with the best Chinese restaurants that Jeff Eats has tried down here in South Florida.

When you check menu/prices at www.garywooexpress.com- in addition to loads of Chinese stuff you will find a huge Japanese menu. For the record, Jeff Eats, didn’t try any of the Japanese items, but if the Japanese food is as good as the Chinese stuff was—Gary Woo Express will be a joint where you can get both-delicious Chinese and Japanese takeout. Just so you know, Gary Woo Express has a couple of tables inside and a handful outside—but this joint is basically a takeout.

Applying Jeff Eats’ 1950’s Brooklyn Jewish Taste Test…sampled items included— won ton soup, tomato egg drop soup, egg rolls, pan fried pork dumplings, bbq ribs, general tso’s chicken, sweet & sour pork, pepper steak, shrimp in lobster sauce, chicken lo mein, roast pork fried rice. The result…Gary Woo Express is one of the best Chinese-takeoout joints that Jeff Eats has tried down here in South Florida. No kidding around, every item “tried” was delicious. To be perfectly honest with you, Jeff Eats’ original plan was to put the “dishes” in some sort of pecking order- but they were all dynamite–so I’ didn’t bother. For you wise-guys out there, No!–Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats didn’t eat “all” that food all by ourselves in one sitting…The fact of the matter, the taste test was conducted in 2-parts…some of the food was picked-up on a Thursday night and some was picked up on Saturday night—so there!

If I got one bitch here, I found the prices a drop- on the high side. No big deal–no second job needed…but the prices were definitely higher than the local competition.

Before I run…if you decide to try Gary Woo Express–when you get to the joint, you’ll find a “menu-rack” outside the front door. The takeout menus in the rack–have coupons and you can use them “right away”— Now that I’m thinking, the coupon that I used saved me 10% off my entire order. The point of all this yapping—use the coupons to off-set the higher-prices I detected.

Gary Woo Express was a “huge” find.

I am telling you, this joint is right up there with best of breed.

Gary Woo Express is open Monday-Friday 11am-10pm and Saturday-Sunday 2pm-10pm

Just in case you guys are wondering, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats are “doing” First Night – at Brother Jeff Eats’ home in Boca Raton and- Second Night at the Pavilion Grille also in Boca Raton with three other couples.

You may also be wondering…Why the Pavilion Grille? To you guys I say-for the past 40 years- when it came/comes to the Jewish Holidays, Mrs. Jeff Eats gave/gives the marching orders and I march! Trust me, it’s a lot easier that way!

Anyway,
