Got a real food food truck for you guys…Outside The Box Sandwich Co which “serves” Dade, Broward, Palm Beach counties.

Just between you guys and Jeff Eats- Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats love food truck events…the way we see it- a smorgasbord of stuff to chose from! For sure, the quantity and quality of the trucks involved, make the game, but trust Jeff Eats on this, we’ve never “not found what to eat.”

Long story short, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently “did” a food truck event in Parkland’s Pinetrails Park and came across Outside The Box Sandwich Co- which we had never “seen” before, or maybe we had, but didn’t remember it, so on and so forth!

Anyway, I gotta tell you that Outside The Box Sandwich Co makes some pretty awesome salads, sandwiches, paninis and wraps. While “there” Jeff Eats did a grilled cheese & bacon-white toast sandwich ($7.50) and Mrs. Jeff Eats did a chicken pesto-ciabatta bread panini ($9.50)…Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats also took home, a chicken caesar wrap ($9) and a mozzarella caprese salad (8.50) and as I said a few seconds ago, the food was absolutely awesome!

To wrap (pun intended) this one up for you guys, you now know about a really good food truck- that’s in the salad, panini, sandwhich, wrap business.

Long before burger joints like Shake Shack, BurgerFi, Five Guys even existed, Char-Hut (which opened in 1976) was cooking-up outrageously delicious char-grilled burgers/hot dogs/chicken, French fries, onion rings down here in South Florida! The chain currently has 5 locations, Oakland Park, Coral Springs, Davie, Tamarac, Pembroke Pines.

If you haven’t yet been to a Char-Hut…Go! Jeff Eats is kinda thinking you’ll love its stuff!

By the way, Char-Hut’s 1/2 lb. Big Bite Bacon Cheese Char-Burger ain’t no slouch either!

Char-Hut is a  South Florida fast-food “burger” chain…that currently has 4 locations, Davie, Sunrise, Tamarac and Pembroke Pines. Wellington’s Annual Tribute Music & Food Truck Festival

The Annual Tribute Music & Food Truck Festival returns to the Wellington Amphitheater (12100 Forest Hill Boulevard) this month, with two weekends full of food trucks, costumed character entertainment, and music by some of the best tribute bands in all of South Florida.

The Festival is scheduled Thursday through Saturday, February 11th through 13th and February 18th through 20th, with approximately 10 to 15 food trucks attending each event from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, and concerts beginning at 6:30 pm. The event is FREE to attend. See the schedule below for the full concert lineup.

Got a real good “mom and pop” breakfast-lunch joint for you guys…Classic’s Deli in Cooper City. For your file- table/booth seating, breakfast stuff, sandwiches, salads, entrees -so you’ll find what to eat, reasonable prices, very pleasant wait staff, open Monday-Friday 6:30am-2:30pm, Saturday-Sunday 6:30am-3pm. Jeff Eats and a couple of buddies recently did lunch and I gotta tell you- that the ordered patty melt on rye, corned beef reuben on rye and hot beef & cheddar melt were all right on the money!

Like I said a few seconds ago, a real good “mom and pop” breakfast-lunch joint- trust Jeff Eats on this one, a nice break from the run-of-the-mill bagel/deli joints that dot the South Florida landscape.

Jeff Eats is hearing that The Mersey Beatles are amazingly good!

For our purposes, The Mersey Beatles’ USA Tour 2016- has 8 Florida dates…Delray Beach, Miramar, Fort Myers, Gainsville, Tampa, Jacksonville, Panama City. Tallahassee.

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats are gonna try and catch the Wednesday, February 17th (7:30pm) Crest Theatre (Delray Beach) show! While I’m on the “subject” of theaters (or is it theatres?)- Crest Theatre, terrific sound/lighting and every seat works!

Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, The Mersey Beatles’ Liverpudlian accents (as per the band’s audio/video at themerseybeatles.com) add an authenticity to the “act” that most Beatles’ tribute bands sorely lack! As a point of reference, a number of years ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats saw The Pete Best Band (for you guys who don’t know-Pete was the drummer who Ringo replaced) and the band made-up of Liverpool born players- had a very authentic Beatles’ “sound” as well!

Final thoughts, looking at The Mersey Bealtes’ picture…Jeff Eats is kinda thinking that it’s real easy to figure out who plays John, Paul, George and Ringo!- and it could really be cool meeting and chatting with John’s sister, Julia Baird!

The Habit Burger Grill, the rapidly growing national fast food- burgers, grilled sandwiches, salads, shakes chain recently introduced a Chicken Caprese Sandwich to its menu and Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats had a couple of them 2-nights ago- absolutely delicious!

Long story short, yesterday- after speaking with The Habit Burger Grill’s corporate management, Jeff Eats “secured” 25 coupons each good for 1-free Chicken Caprese Sandwich through March 16, 2016.

The game here, be one of the first 5-readers to post a “comment” (one per reader per day) and all 5 readers get 5 coupons each! Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, if you don’t like chicken, are allergic to chicken, don’t eat chicken, your mother hates chicken- the coupons can be used for burgers/grilled sandwiches/salads instead! For example, you could use the coupons for stuff like this…

Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, this “event” sounds like it’s gonna be real good. I’ve seen Chain Reaction and it’s one of the better Journey tribute acts currently working the Florida fair/bar/gated community circuit. Throw in food trucks, beer samples and some other “stuff” and I’m kinda thinking that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats are gonna go!

If only “someone”- during the center’s planning stage (2010-2012)- had stopped and figured out a DECENT TENANT MIX, the Delray Marketplace wouldn’t be scrambling to draw “visitors” on Thursday Nights in February. That said, “someone” didn’t- so you guys get to see some really good bands- for FREE! To be perfectly honest with you guys, to this very day Jeff Eats still can’t figure-out how the Delray Marketplace actually thought that retailers such as Jos. A. Bank, Chico’s, GNC and Yankee Candle would draw people to an outdoor center! Oh well, not my money!

Jeff Eats has seen all of the scheduled bands- and I gotta tell you, they all put on a great show! Of interest, legendary standup comedian Sal Richards’ son comedian-Guy Richards is set to appear on February 11th- and it remains to be seen (at least by Jeff Eats) as to whether or not we got a Frank Sinatra Jr. or a Cal Ripken Jr. on the Delray Marketplace Amphitheater’s stage!

Got a real good burger joint for you guys, Boca Burger House in Boca Raton. I’m thinking something like 60 seats inside (booths/tables) and 40 seats outside.

Just between us, the joint’s name- Boca Burger House is kinda deceiving…in addition to a ton of different burgers its got all kinds of salads, wraps, salads, wings, pita pizzas, hot dogs, other stuff! The joint also has a load of craft beers/wines!

Long story short, a couple of days ago (or should I say-a couple of nights ago?) Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple ate dinner there and I gotta tell you, that the ordered- 1/2 lb. ground brisket bacon cheeseburgers, tuna wrap, chicken pizza, French fries, honey garlic wings, onion rings, sweet potato fries, chocolate chip cookies were all right on the money!

Trust Jeff Eats on this one, the Boca Burger House is definitely one of the better burger joints that I have eaten-in here in sunny South Florida. For those of you who like pecking orders, everything was dynamite with the hand breaded onion rings and honey garlic wings deserving a special Jeff Eats’ shout-out!

Now, just so we are straight with each other, if you’re looking for fancy schmancy- this joint ain’t gonna work for you. As a point of reference, Boca Burger House is located on the “side” of a big old strip center and is something like 5 minutes away from both FAU and Lynn University’s campuses. “College” best describes Boca Burger’s decor- if that makes any sense to you? On the service front, super pleasant and as helpful as can be! Prices are reasonable and portions are oversized!

Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and our friends really enjoyed Boca Burger House. I don’t know about you guys, but when four people can all “find what to eat” and no one bitches about anything during or right after the meal- Jeff Eats has to love the joint!
