A Pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won. The Pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again and it won again. The local paper read: PASTOR’S ASS OUT FRONT. The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the Pastor not to enter the donkey in another race. The next day the local paper headline read: BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR’S ASS. This was too much for the Bishop so he ordered the Pastor to get rid of the donkey. The Pastor decided to give it to a Nun in a nearby convent. The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the next day: NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN. The Bishop fainted. He informed the Nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey so she sold it to a farm for $10. The next day the paper read: NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10 This was too much for the Bishop so he ordered the Nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild. The next day the headlines read: NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE. The Bishop was buried the next day. The moral of the story is . . . being concerned about public opinion can bring you much grief and misery and even shorten your life. So be yourself and enjoy life. Stop worrying about everyone else’s ass and just cover your own !!! You’ll be a lot happier and live longer!

Real simple tale to tell, yesterday Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Calogero’s Pizzeria and its food was absolute dynamite! Indoor tables & counter seating/ outdoor patio tables, reasonably priced appetizers/ salads/ panini/ calzones/ wood fired pizza/ dessert menu.

Let’s wrap-up Calogero’s Pizzeria by saying, that until yesterday, neither Jeff Eats nor Mrs. Jeff Eats had ever heard of a city named Lake Alfred, that Calogero’s Pizzeria’s food killed, that if this joint was a whole lot closer to Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton abode we would be real steady customers and that you guys should absolutely positively give it a shot!

Real simple tale to tell, yesterday afternoon Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff “discovered” Fat Jack’s Deli & Pub (which opened in 1963) and the joints’ food and Mayberry service-decor-vibe blew us away! Indoor table/ booth/ counter seating, reasonably priced breakfast/ lunch/ dinner/ daily specials menu, open Monday-Friday 7am-8pm/ Saturday 6:30am-8pm/ Sunday 7am-2pm.

First things first, if you’re “looking” for fancy schmancy- this joint ain’t gonna work for you. Like I said 6 seconds ago, “mom & pop” diner/ Mayberry service-decor-vibe! For you guys who don’t know “Mayberry” it’s Google time!

Got a real good Chinese joint for you guys to check-out, Chung Wah Chinese Restaurant in Miami.

Last week- while driving around Miami looking for a gas station- Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Chung Wah and I gotta tell you, the joint’s food blew us away!

Real simple concept at work here…

Chung Wah is basically a takeout but it does have a couple of tables and a counter (if you insist like Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats did) for eating there!
Chung Wah is located in an Exxon Gas Station’s Express Food Mart, so it’s probably not gonna work for you fancy schmancy guys out there!
Chung Wah menu has the full boat of Brooklyn Jewish American Chinese Food circa 1957-like wonton soup, egg rolls, chicken wings, bbq ribs, sweet & sour chicken, pepper steak, steamed pork dumplings, shrimp with lobster sauce, General Tso’s chicken, roast pork egg foo young, so on and so forth!
Chung Wah’s food is reasonably priced!
Chung Wah’s portions are big!
Chung Wah’s food is absolute dynamite (that’s assuming you like Brooklyn Jewish American Chinese Food circa 1957)!

Let me wrap this tale up for you guys by saying that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats really enjoyed Chung Wah’s food and the whole gas station-vibe! No question about it, if Chung Wah Chinese Restaurant was closer to our Boca Raton abode, we definitely would be real steady customers.

If you’re into Brooklyn Jewish American Chinese Food circa 1957- I’m telling you- that you gotta give this joint a shot!

Real simple tale to tell, yesterday afternoon Jeff Eats and three business associates ate lunch at Albelo’s Sub Shop and its food absolutely killed! Inside table seating, order-pickup at counter, reasonably priced hot & cold subs/ soups/ salads/ quesadillas/ specialty fries/ desserts menu.

Just between you guys and me, Albelo’s Sub Shop is playing at a whole-other level than most of Florida’s sub joints. Personally, I’d rank it as one of the best that I’ve been to!

Inside booth & table/outside covered patio table seating, multiple full liquor bars/ Monday-Friday happy hour/ tvs galore, reasonably priced appetizers/ salads/ bowls/ burgers/ sandwiches/ entrees/ sides/ desserts/ Saturday & Sunday brunch menu.

Just so you guys know, in addition to Boca Raton, American Social currently has locations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa.

Real simple tale to tell, last week Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats along with real-good friends Angie and Bruno “discovered” Ocala’s Downtown Diner and the joint’s food absolutely killed! Straight up, let me tell you, the four of us are huge fans of “mom & pop” diners and Ocala’s Downtown Diner could literally be the poster child for the- concept! Inside table and counter seating, no frills decor, super pleasant service, reasonably priced All Day breakfast & lunch/vegan menus.

Let’s wrap-up Ocala’s Downtown Diner by saying, I met Bruno in September, 1970 while attending Brooklyn Law School. Since then, we have been real-good friends and both Angie and the now Mrs. Jeff Eats joined our party in 1972. Over the past 52 years, we have eaten in more “mom & pop” diners than you can shake a stick at!

If you “eat” like Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Angie and Bruno do, you will absolutely positively love Ocala’s Downtown Diner which is open Monday-Saturday 6am-3pm and Sunday 8am-2pm.
