First told you guys about Bagel Snack Restaurant & Deli on 2/11/10. Stupidly, hadn’t been back- that is until yesterday afternoon when Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and a couple of friends did lunch there!

No bs- off the chart delicious food! Eight years of what would have been dynamite- bagels, sandwiches, hot dogs, soups, french fries, baked beans- down the drain! Like I said earlier- Jeff Eats really screwed up…

Bagel Snack Restaurant & Deli is open 7 days a week 6:30am-3pm.

Bagel Snack’s menu is loaded with real good– breakfast stuff, salads, sandwiches, lox-deli meats…and absolutely terrific– bagels and bialys.

You know and I know, that bagel-deli joints are a dime-a-dozen down here in South Florida…Bagel Snack is one of the better ones.

Nothing more to say, except…the joint is open 7 days a week-6:30am-3pm.

Last night I gave Village Tavern an “American Style” joint located in Boynton Beach a shot…there is also a Village Tavern in Pembroke Pines—when you check the joint’s website www.villagetavern.com for menu/prices you will find that there are a handful more in several other states.

Village Tavern seats something close to 300. There is a dining room and separate bar area.

The best way to describe Village Tavern’s decor—think Cheesecake Factory, Houston’s, J. Alexander’s and you got the picture.

Last night, this joint was jammed. I will tell you, that an 8pm reservation for 4–was honored.

Now let’s talk food…the menu is loaded with appetizers, salads, pastas, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, meat-seafood-chicken entrees. This evening I “did” bbq pulled pork sliders (3-with french fries $8.50), bacon cheeseburger ($9.95), grilled talapia ($16.95), grilled chicken & penne ($14.50), shrimp scampi ($15.95)…I enjoyed all of the food, except the french fries which were on the “limp” side.

Village Tavern is a WINNER. Nice sized portions. Very reasonable prices. Pleasant and competent waitstaff.

Got a real good. sandwich shop for you guys to checkout- Main Bar Sandwich Shop in Sarasota.

First things first, the Main Bar Sandwich Shop has been around since 1958- so Jeff Eats is kinda thinking that the folks that own this joint- just might know what they are doing!

Simple concept at work here…menu loaded with all kinds of hot and cold sandwiches/ handful of appetizers-sides-soups-wraps-desserts, booth-table-counter seating, dynamite food, reasonable prices, super pleasant wait-staff, open Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm/ closed Sunday.

Last week, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats found- Main Bar Sandwich Shop and I gotta tell you, we absolutely loved the joint- the combo of terrific food and 1950’s decor/vibe was just what the doctor ordered!

Real simple concept here- pizzas/salads/wings/beers, table/booth/counter seating, delicious food, loads of craft beers, reasonable prices, pleasant service, open Sunday-Thursday 11am-1am/Friday-Saturday 11am-2am.

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently did dinner at Origin Craft Beer & Pizza Cafe- and I gotta tell you the joint’s food was right on the money! Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and I are suckers for salad/ wings/ pizza/ beer “outings”-so…Origin Craft Beer & Pizza Cafe’s menu/ delicious food kinda hit it out of the park for us!

Let me wrap Origin Craft Beer & Pizza Cafe up for you guys by saying, Origin Craft Beer & Pizza Cafe is a real good joint to know about- if it was even remotely “near” our Boca Raton abode- we’d be real steady customers!

For more than forty years, Robert Klein has entertained audiences, and he continues to have an acclaimed career in comedy, on Broadway, on television, and in film.
2014 and 2015 have been busy years for Klein. He’s appeared on “Madame Secretary” starring Tea Leoni on CBS, “Sharknado 2: The Second One” and ”Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” starring Ian Ziering, on Syfy. Most recently, he guest stars as Laura Diamond’s grouchy but loveable father, Leo, on NBC’s “The Mysteries of Laura” starring Debra Messing. He is also the subject of a new documentary, “Robert Klein: Still Can’t Stop His Leg”, for the Weinstein Company, which premiered on Starz, March 31st, 2017.
Born in the Bronx, he was a member of the famed “Second City” theatrical troupe in Chicago.

He was nominated twice for Grammy Awards for “Best Comedy Album of the Year” for his albums “Child of the Fifties” and “Mind Over Matter.”

He received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor, and won a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for his performance in the hit Neil Simon musical, “They’re Playing Our Song.” In 1993, Klein won an Obie and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in Wendy Wasserstein’s, “The Sisters Rosensweig.”

In 1975, Klein was the first comedian to appear in a live concert on Home Box Office. He has gone on to do nine one-man shows for HBO and received his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music and Lyrics in 2001 for Robert Klein: “Child in His 50’s.” Klein released “Robert Klein: The HBO Specials 1975-2005,” a collector’s DVD box set to critical acclaim.

His most recent special for HBO, “Robert Klein: Unfair and Unbalanced” aired on June 12th, 2010 and is also available as a DVD. This special earned him a second Emmy nomination in 2011 for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.

Among dozens of starring and guest-starring roles on television, he co-starred in the hit NBC series, “Sisters,” has a recurring guest-starring role on “Law and Order” and has guest starred on “The Good Wife” and “Royal Pains.” He regularly appeared on talk shows, making more than 100 appearances on “The Tonight Show” and “Late Show with David Letterman.” Currently, he can be seen on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” where he is a show favorite and on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
Klein has also appeared in many notable films including, “Hooper,” “The Owl and the Pussycat,” “Primary Colors,” “People I Know,” “Two Weeks Notice,” and “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” and “The Back-Up Plan” with Jennifer Lopez.
“The Amorous Busboy of Decatur Avenue,” his first book for Simon & Schuster, is an affectionate coming-of-age memoir about growing up in the ‘50s and ‘60s before embarking on a show business career. In it he recounts his journey from an apartment in the Bronx, developing his talent in Chicago and the beginning of his show business stardom. The book is
pure Robert Klein: witty, honest, self-questioning and always contagiously funny. Publishers Weekly wrote: “…he unfurls an array of captivating anecdotes, writing with wry wit and honesty.”
Robert, a lifelong New Yorker, makes his home in Westchester and New York City.
