Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats saw the show in Orlando (2013)- absolutely loved it! Not familiar with either host restaurant, namely Tamarina Restaurant & Bar and Penstage Club- but based on the show alone, I’d go for the cash and roll the dice that the food is solid!

“Patrons of our Musical Comedy “The Wiseguy Kitchen Live Show” will follow the shenanigans behind the scenes and in front of the camera as the former mob boss, turned reality star Big Vinny, aka The Wiseguy Chef and his crew, try to go legit. During the performance of live cooking show, The Wiseguy Chef tries to teach his patrons how to prepare delicious Italian American cuisine with the help of Vinny’s beautiful assistant Nina Baccala. much to the Chagrin of Maria the only book smart girl in the group.

While Vinny’s intentions are genuine, he’s brought along his former sidekicks Uncle Carmine and Louie The Loan Shark who he’s employed to help run the cooking show and frankly, they aren’t as committed as Vinny when it comes to going straight. While Vinny tries to teach his patrons how to cook, the crew are stirring up plenty of trouble on their own, you will soon get the idea once you are seated in the audience !

With so much excitement, there are plenty of opportunities for the audience to play a part in the show. There’s music, comedy, singing and a chance to sample the freshly cooked food of chef Vinny! The Pompano Beach Amp is proud two present two platinum selling artists in one phenomenal show. Billy Ocean and special guest, Taylor Dayne, will be singing all their classic hits at The Amp on Friday, March 17th.

Billy Ocean has collected a pile of Gold and Platinum records across the world and hit the number one spot worldwide on pop charts including the USA, Australia, Germany, Holland, and the UK.

Born in Trinidad, Billy settled in London’s East End when just seven years old. The calypso crazy kid soon got turned on to soul singers like Otis Redding and Sam Cooke, as well as pop groups like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, leading him to spend much of his study time in the music room.

Billy got his first break when he signed to GTO records, for whom his second single was the Motown-ish “Love Really Hurts Without You,” which reached No. 2 in the UK charts and No. 12 in the US.

Jeff Eats recently came across Jo-El’s Kosher Delicatessen & Marketplace- an absolutely terrific reasonably priced kosher delicatessen/market in Saint Petersburg.

In a nutshell, literally- anything kosher and Jo-El’s got it!

One of the really beautiful things about Jo-El’s- is that in addition to loads of counters/shelves full of stuff, its got a handful of tables and chairs where you can sit and eat from its order/pickup at counter sandwich/prepared food menu!

Jeff Eats isn’t gonna knock you out listing all the “items” that Jo-El’s makes/sells- you can do that to yourself by checking stpetedeli.com…trust me, kosher, not kosher, Jew, Jew hater, Muslim, Muslim hater, Chinese, Baptist, Vegetarian, Dyslectic, Citceltsyd, Syrian, Iranian in Iran (a/k/a Jew hater) so on and so forth, you’ll find what to eat!

Jeff Eats recently did lunch at Jo-El’s and I gotta tell you, the joint serves-up an absolutely delicious pastrami on rye and dynamite potato/kasha/meat/spinach knishes!

If you can keep a secret- and why wouldn’t you?- if Jo-El’s Kosher Delicatessen & Marketplace was anywhere even remotely close to Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton abode which it isn’t, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats would be real and I do mean- real steady customers!

Let’s call Hobo’s a “neighborhood” diner…the joint has been around for something like 11 years. Check www.hobosgourmetkitchen.net for menu/prices. Table seating for about 100 and a small counter that handles 6.

Absolutely-nothing fancy going on here…as a matter of fact, absolutely-nothing gourmet going on here, either. That said, this is exactly the type of joint that old Jeff Eats loves to eat in. Think “short order” and you got Hobo’s number…loads of breakfast stuff, salads, grilled burgers, sandwiches—throw in a $7.95 “all you can eat” salad bar-and-for an extra buck-you can slurp all of the soup that you’d like.

Just so you know, I have eaten 2x at Hobo’s and have yet to see anyone wearing a tuxedo or for that matter a gown (nowadays gotta be politically correct), then again 1-meal was breakfast and 1-meal was lunch, so that may-be why? Really-good 1/2 lb cheeseburger/fries ($7)–grilled reuben/fries ($7.95)–western omelet ($5.95).

Like I said before, I got a special “place in the heart” for the Hobo’s of the world. It’s joints like this, that make eating out a worthwhile endeavor.

If you like diner-food, you’ll love Hobo’s.

Go figure!!…Hobo’s is open Monday-Friday 7am-3pm and Sunday 8am-2pm. The joint is closed on Saturday, like I said, Go Figure!

Both Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats are flat top grilled hamburger fans- and trust me when I tell you, The Burger Place has the flat top grill mastered! As for you non-burger guys, The Burger Palace has enough “non-burger” stuff for you- so you’ll find what to eat!

Like I said a few seconds ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats loved The Burger Place.

This South Florida based-Rock n Roll covers/originals band is outrageously good. I’m talking “hit record recording” good.

The Boca Black Box opened about 1-year ago in Boca Raton. It is a 250 seat theater that produces reasonably priced comedy/music/variety shows.
