Lou Villano grew up in Brooklyn singing the songs of some of the most popular singers from the 50’s & 60’s – Paul Anka was one of his favorites. While Lou was arranging his shows he remembered how many of his audiences would comment that his resemblance and vocal styling is very similar to Paul Anka. They asked “Why don’t you do more songs by Paul Anka”? That’s when Lou acted upon their advice. Lou becomes Paul Anka performing his hits – Diana, Lonely Boy, The Longest Day, My Hometown, Puppy Love, Destiny and so much more. Within the show are songs Paul Anka wrote for singers like Buddy Holly, Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones plus hit songs from some of his fellow songwriters and friends Frankie Avalon & Bobby Rydell. Got a real good pizza joint for you guys to checkout- Pizza Panz & Salads in Lake Worth.

Real simple concept…inside counter & table seating/ handful of outside tables, plastic utensils/cups-plates, reasonably priced pizzas/ salads/ wings/ some other stuff, open Sunday-Thursday 11am-9pm/ Friday- Saturday 11am-10pm.

Long story short, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats found the-joint a couple of days ago (or is a couple of nights ago?) for dinner – and trust me, Pizza Panz & Salads food absolutely killed! No bs here- four of the best Sicilian pepperoni slices we’ve had in a-long time. By the way, the joint’s garden salad/ deep dish breadsticks/ glazed breadsticks were like the pizza, right on the money. The next time we eat there- Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats got plans to checkout the joint’s wings!

Like I said 3-seconds ago, Pizza Panz & Salads is open Sunday-Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-10pm.

One of Florida’s best Kosher Delis!

Ben’s is a KOSHER DELI. This joint opened about 2 years ago and every time that I have been there, there have been lines waiting to dine in and take-out. You native New Yorker’s probably know, that this is the same Ben’s which currently has 6 Long Island locations and 1 Manhattan spot.

DELI is a very funny thing…some people like fatty corned beef and some have to have it extra lean… The point to be made, is that you will have to try Ben’s and decide for yourself as to whether or not you like-love-hate this joint’s food.

Last night I had a great Rumanian Steak smothered in sauteed onions, a piece of stuff derma and a potato pancake. The derma’s gravy was a bit salty, but everything else that I ordered was delicious. I also “sampled” a hot-dog with mustard and sauerkrat, corned beef, brisket, turkey off the bone, pastrami and tongue…all absolutely perfect.

Ben’s is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Like I said before, “deli” is a personal call, so try this joint and decide for yourself if it’s for you. Personally, I love the joint and try to get there once or twice a month.

Real simple tale continued- yesterday afternoon Jeff Eats had to take care of some business down in Kendall and three of my business associates (I know- How You doin’?) took me to Subs 88 for lunch- and I gotta tell you guys, the joint’s stuff blew me away! No bs- I am telling you that Subs 88’s food was absolutely off the chart delicious!

Subs 88 is a winner! If you live, work or play in Kendall, definitely give it a shot!

Yesterday afternoon, Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats “discovered” China Brother in Orlando.

Now just between you guys and Jeff Eats, China Brother’s- Brooklyn Jewish American Chinese Food circa 1957 wasn’t exactly off the chart outrageously delicious- That said, the joint’s “Lunch Special” served daily from 11am-3:30pm made-up of an entree (21 to choose from)/roast pork fried rice/and choice of an egg roll or egg drop soup or wonton soup or a 12oz can of soda- priced st $5.95/$6.25 was on par with the stuff served-up by most of the Florida Chinese joints I’ve mentioned over the years. China Brother’s “Lunch Special”-portions and prices were right on the money with us ordering 6 Specials- General Tso’s Chicken, Boneless Ribs, Sesame Chicken, Egg Foo Young, Orange Chicken, Fried Chicken Wings!

For $45- all in (Lunch Specials/tax/tip) the Eats Family ate real good!
