Papalani Gelato (Delray Beach)
* Papalani Gelato, 16800 Jog Road, Delray Beach, Florida 33446, (561) 536-5866.
Next week Papalani Gelatio a franchised gelato/hand-made chocolates/dessert/breakfast/coffee fast food “concept” out of Hawaii is scheduled to open in the Shoppes of Addison Place, 16800 Jog Road, Delray Beach.
This morning, Jeff Eats “peeked” in Papalani’s window and the store is almost set-to go…I will tell you, that it’s a real nice looking upscale “ice cream” store! No ifs ands or buts, the franchisee went for some nice cash building the joint!
If I got my geography-straight, Papalani Gelato is opening in the exact-same center that “now failed” Orange Leaf Self Serve Frozen Yogurt did back in April, 2010.
Only time will tell if this new player’s concept is strong enough to overcome a strip center which back in 2010, as well as today – literally had/has no foot traffic! Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, I have never been to a Papalani Gelato store, so, I have absolutely no idea as to how its stuff is…that said, a pretty thorough Google Search turned up some real nice “feedback” on its products/operation. Not to harp, but all I know is Jeff Eats’ mantra for “these” kind of fast food businesses is…location, location, location- but like I said 1.4 seconds ago, time will tell!
Papalani Gelato will be open Sunday-Thursday 6am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 6am-11pm.
You can follow the Papalani Gelato “story” at papalanigelato.com.
By the way Papalani Gelato currently has 4 opened-locations (2 stores in Hawaii, 1 store in Temple Terrace, Florida, 1 store in Brandon, Florida).

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have seen Gottfried live 5-times…and each and every time he killed!

Leonardo’s Ristorante (Wellington)
***** Leonardo’s Ristorante, 10300 West Forest Hill Boulevard, Florida 33414, (561) 537-3727.
Got a real good- red sauce mom & pop Italian joint for you guys…Leonardo’s Ristorante in Wellington.
Long story short,
This past Sunday- around 2:34pm Mrs. Jeff Eats “decided” that the Forever 21 store in Town Center Boca Raton didn’t have what she needed- but that the Forever 21 store in The Mall at Wellington Green did! Thirty-nine minutes and 22 miles later- Jeff Eats found himself sitting in Leonardo’s Ristorante eating a stromboli (pepperoni/sausage/ham/mozzarella/romano cheese) and 2 slices of cheese pizza while Mrs. Jeff Eats- played “Supermarket Sweep” in Forever 21!
Leonardo’s Ristorante is located on the Mall’s upper-level…for you geographers out there- it’s right next to “a” TooJay’s Gourmet Deli. Don’t know the details, but Leonardo’s “spot” over the years has housed several other restaurants (which apparently weren’t the sharpest pencils in pencil-case)…just so you know, Leonardo’s has been open for something like 4 weeks and based on the “action” that I saw during my half-hour visit- people seem to really enjoy its stuff!
Leonardo’s has wait-service, but if you “like” you can order at the counter-and grab a table/booth…The joint’s menu has the full-boat of expected- appetizers, subs, pizzas, calzones, strombolis, pastas, entrees- and yes!-the entrees come with salad/garlic rolls/pasta side.
Like I said 4.3 seconds ago, Jeff Eats did 2 slices of cheese pizza and a stromboli and I gotta tell you both were delicious. For what it’s worth, the thin/crisp/sweet sauce slice was so good- that after Mrs. Jeff Eats had done her damage- and retrieved Jeff Eats, we took home a 16″ large cheese pizza ($12.99)- for good measure we also-ordered a Caesar salad ($8.50) and a large sausage parmigiana sub ($9) which like the pizza and stromboli were right on the money!
Let me wrap this up for you guys…the next time you’re in the Mall- skip the food-court and catch a bite at Leonardo’s- I’m thinking you’ll be glad you did!
The joint is open Sunday 11am-9pm, Monday-Saturday 11am-10pm.
Miami Marlins All You Can Eat Seats (Miami)
* Miami Marlins All You Can Eat Seats.
Sounds like a pretty good “deal” to me!
For sure, Jeff Eats doesn’t follow baseball like I use to- when guys like Ron Swoboda were swatting those home-runs for the Mets…that said, every year I try and catch the Marlins at a game or two!
The bet here is that- it probably has been quite sometime since most of you guys “went” to a game…give it a shot- it’s a real nice outing!
Finally, I’m thinking that the reason why Kosher Korner’s hot dogs aren’t in the deal- has something to do with Sandy Koufax- but Jeff Eats is just guessing on that!
All You Can Eat Seats include a game ticket and unlimited Kayem Beef Franks, Peanuts, Popcorn, Nachos, Pepsi Sodas, and Aquafina Water to Monday home games in 2015! Starting at $30! (Offer excludes Opening Day 4/6 and 6/15 versus the New York Yankees)
Hot dogs offered at the Kosher Korner are not eligible for this promotion.

Shadows Of The 60’s- A Tribute To Motown’s Super Groups
* Shadows Of the 60’s- A Tribute To Motown’s Super Groups.
No ifs ands or buts, one of America’s best Motown Revue Shows…
Trust Jeff Eats when I tell you…I’ve seen this “act” a number of times, nothing but standing ovations. Don’t believe me, check with the folks at Valencia Reserve in Boynton Beach- who had Shadows Of The 60’s at their clubhouse on March 27, 2015 and see what they thought of the show!- by the way Jeff Eats was there, so unless the 500+ sold out crowd are an organized bunch of fibbers, I know- exactly what they are gonna tell you!

Finally, I just checked with the box-office and there are still a handful of tickets left for the run…so if you want to go-do what you gotta do!

Years ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats saw the Fort Lauderdale production of- SOPHIE, TOTIE & BELLE and I gotta tell you that this Musical Comedy was an absolute home-run!
Jeff Eats knows that casts-change…so we’ll have to see how 2015’s does- BUT- based on the “script” alone, I’m thinking this is gonna be a real good-one!
Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats are gonna pick up- a pair of tickets…
Printed down below is the “DRAMA” surrounding this latest production and how you can get tickets.

ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR MUSICAL-COMEDIES EVER TO PLAY S. FLORIDA!
Our 2000 production moved directly from Ft. Lauderdale to Theater4 off-Broadway!
SOPHIE, TOTIE & BELLE is a riotously funny musical based on a fictional meeting between legendary & ground-breaking female performers, Sophie Tucker, Totie Fields and Belle Barth.
With a full-out belt score & some of the best comedic material ever written (mind you, Belle Barth, referred to as the female Lenny Bruce was not for the shy or prudish among us), this delightful musical promises to be among the most fun you will have this season!

Got an absolutely terrific pizza joint for you guys…The Crust!
Real simple concept- tons of pizzas, handful of subs, handful of salads…handful of beers/wines- inside/outside seating. If you’re in the mood for veal parm, chicken marsala, fried calamari- so on and so forth, be smart and ditch the mood, because like I just said, pizzas, subs and salads!

A recent dinner- 16″ super thin/crisp pepperoni pizza, lightly toasted meatball sub, wedge salad, all right on the money! Throw in a dynamite decor, super pleasant service and real-reasonable prices- and you got…

Jeff Eats loves… this hole in the wall-takeout only-cash only Italian joint’s pizza.
No ifs ands or buts, Grandpa’s “slice” could make it Brooklyn or for that matter The Bronx!
Here’s the original writeup…don’t forget it’s cash only!

***** Grandpa’s Pizza & Pasta, 27030 Old 41 Road, Bonita Springs, Florida 34135, (239) 992-7119.
Got something real-good for you Bonita Springs-folks…
Grandpa’s Pizza & Pasta…a hole in the wall that makes delicious pizzas, pastas, salads, strombolis/calzones, subs. This is a cash-only affair (there’s an ATM in the store) and don’t plan on eating there, because it’s takeout only.
The other day, Jeff Eats and a couple of buddies were in Bonita Springs to checkout some “musical acts” at The Stage (see review 8/28/11) and heard about Grandpa’s from some locals…
No fooling around here…one of the best New York Style pizzas I’ve had in a very long time…same for the ricotta/mozzarella/ham calzone, meat lasagna and chicken parm sub.
You can check Grandpa’s menu/prices at www.grandpaspizza.net.
From what I understand, Grandpa’s has been around for something like 34 years…so I’m thinking that I’m not so crazy on how good I think the food was.
Grandpa’s Pizza & Pasta is open Monday-Saturday 11am-9:30pm, closed on Sunday
