Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria (Delray Beach)
Posted on March 3rd, 2015 · Delray Beach Fast Food Italian Pizza Subs/Salads

***** Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria, 14466 Military Trail, Delray Beach, Florida 33484, 561) 638-6442.

This is a real simple tale to tell…

If you want some of the most delicious New York Style pizza, hot/cold subs, stromboli- down here in sunny South Florida…get yourself over to Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria in Delray Beach.

Just so you know, the joint is owned by the same folks that own- The Boys Farmers Market in Delray Beach (see review 10/17/14) …Bambini’s is basically a takeout, but there is limited indoor/outdoor seating.

This past Sunday afternoon, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats had a bunch of friends over to our home in Boca Raton…to feed the hordes of people- we picked up from Bambini’s 2- 20″ cheese pizzas ($14.99 each), 1- 20″ meatball pizza ($16.99), 1-20″ white pizza ($17.99), 3- 10″ chicken parmesan subs ($7.99 each), 3- 10″ eggplant parmesan subs ($7.99 each), 4- 10″ sausage/peppers/onions subs ($7.99 each), 3- pepperoni Stromboli ($9.99 each) and I am telling you EVERYTHING was delicious.

No fooling here, Bambini’s stuff literally blew Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and our friends away.

For what it’s worth-Jeff Eats had been hearing about this joint for months- and this past Sunday was the day “I” decided to give it a shot. The pizza was as close to perfect as can be… thin crispy crust, sweet sauce- the subs’ fillings were dynamite/the semolina seeded bread was terrific, the prices- tons of food for cheap money!

No crapping you guys, I couldn’t have picked a better joint for this particular home-event!

Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria is an absolute must try.

To make sure we are straight on the facts… basically a takeout, limited menu (stromboli, subs, wraps, salads, pizza)- and if you are wondering, the joint “does pizza by the slice.”

Bambini’s website-bambinisgardenpizza.com- is kinda useless, no menu info provided.

Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria is open Monday-Thursday & Saturday 10:30am-9pm, Sunday 10:30am-7pm.

From the creator of the biggest magic show on the planet comes the worlds naughtiest magic show “The Naked Magicians”.

“The most entertaining show of the year!” – AUSSIETHEATRE.COM

“Release your inner demon and let yourself be enchanted” – THEATREPEOPLE

“It’s so, so funny!” – THE COURIER MAIL

Left without sleeves or pockets, The Naked Magicians saucy magic is baffling and entertaining, bringing a new meaning to “now you see it”.

This boisterous R-rated magic show, strips away the top hats and capes, promising full frontal illusions. Good magicians don’t need sleeves and great magicians don’t need pants. This show proves just that.

The show features magic, mirth and more than a touch of mayhem as these two hot and hilarious magicians say abracadabra and take magic to a whole new level.
______

The Magicians:

MIKE TYLER

Mike Tyler is an outstanding magician, mentalist, and comedy hypnotist who combines insane sleight of hand with unbelievable mind trickery. At the age of 30, Mike is considered one of Australia’s premier corporate entertainers, having performed for companies such as Qantas, Channel Seven, Commonwealth Bank, Hyundai, and Network Ten. While Brisbane is his home, Mike performs his interactive magic, comedy magic on stage, and hilarious hypnosis shows all over Australia and has wowed audiences throughout Europe, Canada and USA.

Throughout his school years, Mike’s focus was on his studies and his desire to be a professional swimmer (he even beat Ian Thorpe at Australian Championships as a teenager!). It wasn’t until after university when working in banking he discovered his love for magic could become a career path as he began performing shows on a part time basis. Armed with a business mind, a competitive spirit, and a desire for attention, Mike made the decision to become a full time entertainer in 2010.

Mike added comedy hypnosis to his arsenal in 2011 after two years studying stage hypnosis from USA. While stage shows take up most of Mike’s time, he also hosts a regular magic segment on Network Ten’s Toasted TV and performs magic as a volunteer in the specialist clinic at Mater Children’s Hospital (he keeps his clothes on!)

Mike performs over 250 shows a year for some of Australia’s most successful companies, professional sporting teams, government organisations, and charities. With a cheeky personality, youthful looks, charm, a quick wit, a modest ego, and some incredible sleight of hand, Mike is a very successful entertainer in his own right and is considered one of the best close-up magicians in Australia.

CHRISTOPHER WAYNE

Christopher’s journey into the entertainment industry is different from the standard showbiz story… At the age of 21 he was employed at Arnott’s biscuits as a factory hand, weighing ingredients. One day at work after what can only be described as a “Nasty Cocoa Accident”, Christopher decided to pursue his life-long nerdish interest in the art of magic (he was already a master of making biscuits disappear). A hobby soon became an obsession, the obsession became a job, and the job became an adventure that would change his life.

Now at 30, Christopher Wayne is one of Australia’s leading entertainers.

With over 200 international shows a year, he is best known as the magician from Channel 10’s Toasted TV, and has appeared with his magic on many other TV shows including Sunrise, Totally Wild, the 7PM Project and was the first magician in Australian TV history to have his own TV show, More Than Magic, which had successful runs in New Zealand, England and America.

Aside from his performing schedule, Christopher is known in Australia’s TV and Radio community as one of the most gifted comedy writers around, a skill that became very handy when creating The Naked Magicians.

Best Chicken Fingers in South Florida (AMC Dine-In Theatres Coral Ridge 10- Fort Lauderdale)

***** Best Chicken Fingers in South Florida.

A recent email received by Jeff Eats.

Hey Jeff:
If this question is too dumb for you, please don’t answer.
Who makes the best chicken fingers in South Florida?
Thank you,
Louise Winters
North Miami
______

Louise Winters:

I don’t know about “best” but I love the chicken fingers that are served at AMC Dine-In Theatres Coral Ridge 10, 3401 Northeast 26th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33306, (954) 566-9666.

lmjh

To be perfectly honest with you, Jeff Eats isn’t sure- if AMC sells its $16 basket of “hand battered chicken tenders with ranch and honey-dijon dipping sauces, red slaw, garlic cheddar buttermilk biscuits, fries” without “your” also buying a movie ticket. I’ve had this “basket” twice- while watching movies- and the food was absolute dynamite! By the way, the portion is kinda large and can easily feed 2-adults! The suggestion here, call AMC and ask! You can also check menu/prices/info at amctheatres.com.

By the way, AMC Dine-In Theatres’ brussel sprouts are also off the chart!

image

Go figure, a movie theatre serving up stuff- that rivals some of South Florida’s best restaurants’ food! No fooling, if you had “told” me this- 10 years ago, I’d have said you were nuts!

By the way, there are currently only 2-AMC Dine-It Theatres in Florida…the Coral Ridge 10 in Fort Lauderdale and the Downtown Disney 24 with Dine-It Theatres in lake Buena Vista.

Thanks for reading…

* Phlorida Pretzel, 168 Northwest 51st Street, Boca Raton, Florida 33431, (561) 910-1846.

To the Owner of Phlorida Pretzel:

Yesterday which was Thursday 8/27/15, Jeff Eats wanted to “try” Phlorida Pretzel- had heard some real nice things about your handmade “philly” pretzels from my friend Steve. I checked your website (phloridapretzel.com ) and it indicated that your store’s Summer Hours were: Tuesday-Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 8am-3pm. At 4:31pm, from my car- I called your phone number 3x and no-one answered- not even an answering machine! When I got to the store at 4:36pm, your lights were out and your door was locked. By the way, there was no sign on the door/window “Closed For Emergency”- “Closed For Death In The Family”- “Closed To Go To The Gym”- “Closed For Gas Leak”- “Will Be Right Back”…nothing! So much for trying your pretzels!

By the way, if your business is called Phlorida Pretzel why this sign?

ppr1

Finally, the really sad part of this story- is that I was kinda looking forward to trying your pretzels and then hopefully telling Jeff Eats’ readers this morning- as to how good they were! C’est la vie!

I’m thinking that you regular Jeff Eats’ readers know that I’m a huge-fan of “mom & pop” diners- for sure, some are better than others, but I just like the whole “concept”- no chains, no big nothing- just every day folks trying to make a buck serving up good solid food at reasonable prices. With all that in mind, the Lighthouse Diner has the “formula” down pat- real good food, non-blood curdling prices, pleasant wait-staff all in a “no-drama” setting.

Let me wrap this up for you,

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats loved the Lighthouse Diner!

The Heavyweight Factory Presents: World Heavyweight Champions Fight Night (Hard Rock Live- Hollywood)

Posted on August 27th, 2015 · Hollywood Music/Events/Other · 7 Comments »

* The Heavyweight Factory Presents: World Heavyweight Champions Fight Night.

If you guys can keep a secret,

Jeff Eats is a huge fight fan…literally, over the years I’ve sat ringside at 100s of bouts and attended countless boxing dinners/events.

Give or take a few, active/retired professional boxers are the most pleasant guys in the world. My all-time favorite boxer inside and outside of the ring was Joe Frazier, with Muhammad Ali being a very close second!

image
Jeff Eats (I’m the white guy), Joe Frazier and some friends at a Black Tie Affair in honor of Mike Tyson’s 91 second knockout of Heavyweight Champ Michael Spinks. If you can keep a secret, that night Joe, Jeff Eats and Arlene Smith & The Chantels did a killer-Mustang Sally- for the crowd!-but keep that to yourself!

Anyway,

This “Heavyweight Fight Night” thing sounds like it could be a lot of fun- that is if you’re “in” the right seat (the former champs are going to be seated at tables on the arena-floor)…just so we are straight with each other, some of the seats- not on the floor seem way overpriced to me…for sure there is a nice fight card- but I’m guessing that your primary goal is to personally meet some if not all of the former champs… bottom-line, if you buy a ticket, make sure that “it” gets you what you want!

For further info- hardrocklive.com

You can catch tickets at- ticketmaster.com.

One last thing, I’ve known Shannon Briggs for over 25 years. Super pleasant guy, good puncher and Mike Marrone hasn’t got a prayer!
