Rock N Roll Ribs is a “bbq joint”…it opened about 3 months ago…one of its co-owners is Nicko McBrain, the legendary drummer of the metal-band Iron Maiden…by the way, Nicko lives in Boca Raton. So, you now know— how “it” probably got the name Rock N Roll Ribs. The joint, has videos of bands playing, records on the wall, hanging guitars and a drum set as its decor. Rock N Roll Ribs is located in a shopping center on State Road 7…I think there are more empty stores than going businesses. Personally, I think that the spot stinks, but hey, it ain’t my dime! The joint isn’t all that big, maybe 80 seats. From what I understand, although Nicko is one of the owners and hangs out there- when he is in “town” (he wasn’t there, last night), it is run by “Moby” Rick Baum who according to the joint’s “pr” has an extensive background in developing/opening/running restaurants—the guy also plays guitar in Nicko’s (other band) McBrain Damage… What I can tell you, based on last night’s meal, this guy Moby Rick knows his bbq.

Now let’s talk food…tried- baby back ribs, bbq chicken, pork sandwich, cheese burger, french fries, garlic toast—this is some of the best bbq that I have had “down here” in South Florida. This joint’s bbq is not heavy-smokey, but rather “sweet” grilled stuff, that is right on the money.

On the pricing front—very reasonable…a full rack of baby back ribs with garlic toast and 2 sides goes for $15.95…a 1/2 chicken with garlic toast and 2 sides $12.95.

On the service side—very pleasant and efficient waitstaff.

Like I said before, 80 seats, looks better than a Hard Rock Cafe, real good food, real good prices, real good service, lousy location. Hey! Nicko and Rick, you got a great concept here…I just hope that people “find” you.

One final thought, you might like to check www.ironmaiden.com and www.myspace.com/mcbraindamge and read about Nicko and Rick’s music and bandmates. Just so you know, Nicko-is considered by many, to be one of the top rock drummers of all-time.

I really enjoyed Rock N Roll Ribs.

Jeff Eats is kinda thinking that just- maybe you guys have seen the basic “concept” elsewhere…you build (design) your own pizzas and salads! Then the stuff is delivered to your table! The keys for the “game” to work- 1. Top quality/numerous ingredients, 2. Easy to order system, 3. Fast table delivery of those wood-fired pizzas, salads and other stuff, 4. Reasonable prices.

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently did lunch- pizzas and salads! Trust me when I tell you, the folks owning/running this joint got the game-figured out just right!

It usually doesn’t work-out this way with siblings- but in this “case” Bobby Valli Frankie’s younger brother, sounds just like his older brother does!

Jeff Eats has seen Bobby Valli twice, the man puts on a great show! Trust Jeff Eats on this one, I’ve watched a load of Valli “tribute” artists- Bobby Valli is as “close” to the real-deal as can be!

For you guys not familiar with Fishtales- real good full bar/indoor/outdoor patio seating restaurant that serves-up reasonably priced real good American Style stuff…the joint’s kicker, live music and entertainment 7 nights a week! Trust Jeff Eats on this one, Fishtales is a real good-fun-casual joint, featuring top local Rock N Roll bands, doo wop groups, tribute shows, comedians, national celebrity headliner acts! For our purposes we’re gonna call Dyan’s Country Kitchen “an out of sight out of mind” diner joint!

Simple tale to tell, Jeff Eats first told you guys about Dyan’s way-back on January 20, 2009- hadn’t been back until yesterday when Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats did-lunch!

Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, there is no way that I should have let this joint slip through the cracks as it’s only a 30 minute drive from my Boca Raton home- as they say, sh@t happens!

Like I said a couple of seconds ago, a simple tale to tell…delicious reasonably priced- chicken salad on toasted rye, tuna salad on toasted et-bagel, bacon cheeseburger, corned beef on rye, French fries, potato knish, potato pancake, tomato salad, sweet potato fries, chopped liver on toasted onion bagel!

Trust Jeff Eats on this one, Dyan’s Country Kitchen won’t be slipping through the cracks again!

Real simple tale, this joint makes a real delicious chicken pot pie. Kinda hard pressed to recall a South Florida-British pub that makes a better one. By the way, while we are on the subject of “chicken”- the joint’s wings kill!

If your into British pubs, the Ye Olde Falcon Pub will definitely work for you!

Got a good British Pub for you guys…Ye Olde Falcon Pub in Davie.

First things first, the joint looks exactly as you expect it to…dark wood, big bar, more dark wood, tvs, handful of arcade games, darts, booth and table seating…this one also has outdoor patio seating.

Ye Olde’s menu- a combination of British and American stuff…plenty of appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wings, entrees, desserts- trust me, everyone in your party will find what to eat! The joint also has beers up the whazoo- 48 on tap and 14 bottles…so if you like beer, you’re set!

Since this is after-all a British Pub…

A recent dinner had Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple “trying”- fish & chips, bangers & mash, shepard’s pie, chicken pot pie and I gotta tell you everything was A-OK! If I had to do a pecking order, which I don’t have to, but I will- Jeff Eats loved the fish & chips ($12.99) and chicken pot pie ($9.95), the bangers & mash ($11.79) and shepard’s pie ($10.99) were decent enough, but personally-I wouldn’t be jumping at a second chance to order them again!

On the American side of the ledger, the philly steak & cheese sub ($10.99) and popcorn chicken ($9.79) that we threw into the meal-mix were right on the money! Just between you and Jeff Eats, the sub (Ye Olde calls it a hoagie-whatever!) absolutely killed- and if you “go” is a must-order.

Jeff Eats really enjoyed-Ye Olde Falcon Pub. Good food, terrific beer selection, very pleasant service, reasonable prices, plenty of dark wood!
