* Don’t Miss These Great Shows.

The way Jeff Eats sees it, some winners and some losers!

Personally out of the 12 shows, I’d only pay to see 4-of them!

Not going to tell you which 4- because like “food reviewing” what I like you might hate and vice versa!

***** Dyan’s Country Kitchen, 9100 Wiles Road, Coral Springs, Florida 33067, (954) 755-7590.

For our purposes we’re gonna call Dyan’s Country Kitchen “an out of sight out of mind” diner joint!

Simple tale to tell, Jeff Eats first told you guys about Dyan’s way-back on January 20, 2009- hadn’t been back until yesterday when Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats did-lunch!

Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, there is no way that I should have let this joint slip through the cracks as it’s only a 30 minute drive from my Boca Raton home- as they say, sh@t happens!

Like I said a couple of seconds ago, a simple tale to tell…delicious reasonably priced- chicken salad on toasted rye, tuna salad on toasted et-bagel, bacon cheeseburger, corned beef on rye, French fries, potato knish, potato pancake, tomato salad, sweet potato fries, chopped liver on toasted onion bagel!

image

Trust Jeff Eats on this one, Dyan’s Country Kitchen won’t be slipping through the cracks again!

Dyan’s Country Kitchen is open:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday from 6:30 am – 3 pm
Wednesday through Saturday from 6:30 am – 9 pm.

Let’s call Dyan’s a real good joint…big breakfasts, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches.

Good food. Good prices. Good wait-staff.

Every NEIGHBORHOOD should have one of these!

Real simple tale, this joint makes a real delicious chicken pot pie. Kinda hard pressed to recall a South Florida-British pub that makes a better one. By the way, while we are on the subject of “chicken”- the joint’s wings kill!

If your into British pubs, the Ye Olde Falcon Pub will definitely work for you!

***** Ye Olde Falcon Pub, 2867 South University Drive, Davie, Florida 33328, (954) 424-0300.

Got a good British Pub for you guys…Ye Olde Falcon Pub in Davie.

First things first, the joint looks exactly as you expect it to…dark wood, big bar, more dark wood, tvs, handful of arcade games, darts, booth and table seating…this one also has outdoor patio seating.

Ye Olde’s menu- a combination of British and American stuff…plenty of appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wings, entrees, desserts- trust me, everyone in your party will find what to eat! The joint also has beers up the whazoo- 48 on tap and 14 bottles…so if you like beer, you’re set!

Since this is after-all a British Pub…

A recent dinner had Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple “trying”- fish & chips, bangers & mash, shepard’s pie, chicken pot pie and I gotta tell you everything was A-OK! If I had to do a pecking order, which I don’t have to, but I will- Jeff Eats loved the fish & chips ($12.99) and chicken pot pie ($9.95), the bangers & mash ($11.79) and shepard’s pie ($10.99) were decent enough, but personally-I wouldn’t be jumping at a second chance to order them again!

On the American side of the ledger, the philly steak & cheese sub ($10.99) and popcorn chicken ($9.79) that we threw into the meal-mix were right on the money! Just between you and Jeff Eats, the sub (Ye Olde calls it a hoagie-whatever!) absolutely killed- and if you “go” is a must-order.

Jeff Eats really enjoyed-Ye Olde Falcon Pub. Good food, terrific beer selection, very pleasant service, reasonable prices, plenty of dark wood!

You guys can check menu/prices/info at yeoldefalconpub.com.

Ye Olde Falcon Pub is open Sunday noon-4am, Monday-Saturday 11am-4am

***** Waffle House, 2580 Davie Road, Davie, Florida 33317, (954) 792-8150

Let the truth be told, Waffle House is one of Jeff Eats favorite joints to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at! There I said it! I am a gigantic fan of this 2,100 unit 24/7 American “diner” chain which has been around since 1955. Over the years, Jeff Eats has eaten in Waffle Houses literally all over the place- yesterday, I did breakfast at the Waffle House located at 2580 Davie Road, in Davie.

Now you guys and Jeff Eats both know that this food “reviewing thing” is purely a subjective exercise- what I like you may hate and vice versa! That said, I challenge you guys to eat the Waffle House’s- hasbrowns smothered in sautéed onions/covered with melted American cheese and smoked hickory ham chunks- pecan waffles- Texas Angus Patty Melt- grilled biscuits & sausage gravy and then honestly tell Jeff Eats that “it” wasn’t like dying and going to heaven (I know, a bit dramatic!)!

You guys can check Waffle House’s menu/locations/info at wafflehouse.com.

Clematis Pizza (West Palm Beach)

***** Clematis Pizza, 523 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach, Florida 33401, (561) 655-6656.

Got a real good “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joint for you, Clematis Pizza in West Palm Beach. A real hole-in-the-wall!- something like 6 tables inside and maybe 3 outside on the sidewalk!

A real simple tale to tell you guys…

The other night, Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple gave the joint a shot for dinner and I gotta tell you that the medium cheese pepperoni pizza, large meat lovers calzone, 12″ chicken parmigiana sub, penne ala vodka (house salad, garlic rolls) and lasagna with meat sauce (house salad, garlic rolls) which we ordered were all right on the money! For you guys into “pecking orders”- I’m thinking chicken parmigiana sub, pizza, lasagna, calzone, penne ala vodka, while Mrs. Jeff Eats had it, calzone, pizza, chicken parmigiana sub, penne ala vodka/lasagna (tied), while the other couple had it- I don’t know, because Jeff Eats didn’t ask them! The point of this exercise, food ‘reviewing” is a totally subjective game, so what I may like you may hate and vice versa- so on and so forth!

To wrap it all up for you guys, Jeff Eats really enjoyed the food, the service was as pleasant as could be, the prices were extremely reasonable- and I know that Jeff Eats would definitely eat in the joint again!

Clematis Pizza is open Sunday-Wednesday 11am-10pm, Thursday-Saturday 11am-4am (only pizza -after 10pm).

You can check menu/prices/info at clematispizza.com.
