Gilbert Gottfried (Palm Beach Improv—West Palm Beach)

* Gilbert Gottfried (Palm Beach Improv—West Palm Beach)

For what it’s worth, one of Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats’ all-time favorite comedians is Gilbert Gottfried- over the years, we’ve seen Gottfried “live” 5 times and each and every time he’s cracked-us up!

Gottfried is scheduled to appear at the Palm Beach Improv, 550 Rosemary Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33410, (561) 833-1812 palmbeachimprov.com Thursday-Saturday (August 24th-August 26th). Tickets are 22 bucks (there is also a 2 drink minimum). If the Thursday date works for you, goldstar.com has $22 tickets listed at $10.

For those of you who have never been to the Palm Beach Improv- trust me, it’s a great looking showroom and every seat is good. Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have been going there for years—to watch America’s top comics. Just a suggestion—in addition to the show, plan on eating at the Improv…the joint has a very reasonably priced menu and its burgers, cheesesteak sub, wings are probably as good if not better than the stuff your favorite sports bar serves-up.

For those of “you” who may-be from Mars—who don’t know who or what about Gilbert Gottfried, the Palm Beach Improv site has a video for you to watch- also printed below is the Improv’s “biography” for Gilbert Gottfried…

“Gilbert Gottfried: At the young age of 15, Gilbert Gottfried began doing stand-up at open mike nights in New York City and, after a few short years, became known around town as “the comedian’s comedian.” After spending several years mastering the art of stand-up comedy, producers of the legendary NBC late night comedy show Saturday Night Live became aware of Gottfried and, in 1980, hired him as a cast member. It wasn’t until a few years later when his true notoriety would begin when MTV hired him for a series of improvised and hilarious promos for the newly formed channel. This led to several television appearances on “The Cosby Show” and “Late Night with David Letterman.” Gottfried’s work in television soon led to roles in film. Most notable was his improvised scene as business manager Sidney Bernstein in the hit sequel “Beverly Hills Cop II,” for which the New York Daily News said that, “Gilbert Gottfried steals the picture with a single scene.” Aside from his glowing reputation in comedy clubs, Gottfried began to gain a reputation as the king of quirky roles in both movies and television. He appeared in such movies as “Problem Child,” “Problem Child II,” “Look Who’s Talking II” and “The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.” He was also the host of the very popular late night movie series “USA Up All Night.” After his stellar performance as the wise cracking parrot, IAGO, in the Disney classic “Aladdin,” Gottfried became one of the most recognizable voiceover talents. His signature voice can be heard in several commercials, cartoons and movies. Gottfried also is the voice of DIGIT in the long running PBS Series “Cyberchase.” Gottfried has been a regular on the new “Hollywood Squares” and is a frequent guest on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The Howard Stern Show.” Gottfried appeared in the hit comedy documentary “The Aristocrats,” with Entertainment Weekly saying that, “out of the 101 comedians who appear on screen, no one is funnier – or more disgusting – than Gilbert Gottfried.” Part memoir, part twisted social commentary, part scratches on the bathroom wall, “Rubber Balls and Liquor,” Gottfried’s hilarious first-ever book, was recently released. Also recently released on both DVD and CD is “Gilbert Gottfried Dirty Jokes” featuring 50 non-stop minutes of Gottfried telling the funniest and filthiest jokes ever. The show was filmed live at the Gotham Comedy Club in New York City. Also featured on the DVD is some of the funniest bonus features ever, including wild stories, indignant ranting and celebrity impressions that will leave viewers crying for more. For this live performance, Gottfried puts aside political correctness and fires an onslaught of jokes that know no boundaries. At the end of the show, Gottfried tells what is known among comedians as the “Dirtiest Joke of All Time,” which is also the basis for “The Aristocrats.” Gottfried is one of the most sought-after comedians, and regularly performs live to sold-out audiences across North America.”

ANDREW DICE CLAY is proud to be one of America’s most controversial and outrageous comics. When he released his debut album, Dice, the parental advisory label simply read “Warning: This album is offensive.”

Clay’s rise to fame was nothing less than meteoric; he became the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden two nights in a row and was the only performer ever “Banned For Life from MTV.”

Over the last few years, Clay’s career has experienced a resurgence, most notably when he starred to great critical acclaim alongside Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine, his recurring role on the final season of Entourage and Martin Scorsese’s Vinyl. His other notable TV credit is The Celebrity Apprentice, where he is proud to have been the first celebrity thrown off the show.

Clay has released numerous best-selling DVDs (No Apologies and Dice Rules!) and a string of multi-gold and platinum selling CDs (The Day The Laughter Died and Face Down, Ass Up). Dice also starred in several one-hour cable specials including: The Diceman Cometh and Indestructible.

In 2015, Simon & Schuster published Clay’s brutally honesty autobiography “The Filthy Truth.”

Roll The Stones (Abacoa Amphitheater- Jupiter)

* Roll The Stones.

For you guys who maybe wondering where Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats are gonna be this coming Saturday Night (8/19) around 7:30pm- well, wonder no more! By the way, Roll The Stones is one of America’s best Rolling Stones tribute bands and the show is a complimentary situation!

On the food front, before the “show”- Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats are gonna do some pizza and chicken parm at…

Vinny’s Pizza (Jupiter)
Posted on October 20th, 2016
***** Vinny’s Pizza, 6671 West Indiantown Road, Jupiter, Florida 33458, (561) 575-5445.

For our purposes we’re gonna call Vinny’s Pizza an “out of sight out of mind” mom & pop red sauce Italian joint…

Jeff Eats first told you guys about Vinny’s Pizza on November 3, 2010…truth be told, hadn’t been back “until” last night when Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats stopped in for a Grandma Pizza and an obscene amount of Coke and Diet Coke. By the way, I’m kinda thinking the sole reason for the long-absence, the freaking joint is 86 miles round-trip from Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton residence!

Long story short, absolute dynamite Grandma Pizza!

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats loved Vinny’s in 2010 and loved it again in 2016- with all things being equal, the next “love” is gonna be sometime in 2022! Hey, an 86 mile round-trip, ain’t exactly chopped liver either!

All kidding aside, trust Jeff Eats on this one, you gotta try Vinny’s Pizza, it’s that good!

Vinny’s Pizza

***** Vinny’s Pizza, 6671 West Indiantown Road, Jupiter, Florida 33458, (561) 575-5445.

Got a real good-reasonably priced “mom & pop–red sauce” Italian joint for you…Vinny’s Pizza in Jupiter, Florida.

Vinny’s menu has all of the “expected stuff”…pizzas, pastas, calzones, hot & cold subs, meat/seafood/chicken dishes (dinners–include salad, pasta side, garlic knots).

A recent dinner outing had me doing…large 16” pizza ($12.20), penne alla vodka ($10.50), meat lasagna ($11.25), veal parmigiana ($14.50). Keeping in mind, that joints like Vinny’s aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel—I can, without hesitation tell you that-Vinny’s food was terrific. Definitey one of the best NYC styled pizzas that- I’ve had in a very long time. The pie was thin-crispy-with an amazingly-perfect sweet sauce. As for the penne, lasagna and veal parm—I know joints that get double the price and can’t hold a candle to Vinny’s food.

Vinny’s is a winner. This is NOT and I repeat NOT—some hack joint, just turning out passable food. Do have one huge problem with Vinny’s…it’s 86 miles (round-trip) from my house.

Vinny’s Pizza is open Monday-Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-10pm and Sunday noon-9pm.

Otis Cadillac Band Oldies Rock

Celebrating the Birth of Rock ‘N Roll
Classic R&B, Root Rock ‘N Roll, and Blues

The Otis Cadillac and the El Dorados R&B Revue is an 11-piece band that performs Classic R&B, Root Rock N’ Roll and related Blues-oriented material. The band performs in a style that emulates the R&B revues of the late 50s and early 60s. It is the goal of each performance to recreate the atmosphere and energy that gave birth to Rock N’ Roll in that era. The band chooses eclectic and diverse material exposing the talents of its band members.

The Revue features the extraordinarily talented female vocal trio of the Seville Sisters. Under the vocal direction of acclaimed vocal instructor and performer Kat Riggins, they provide colorful harmonies, featured solos, dance routines and on-stage banter to compliment the Octogenarian iconic lead vocalist Otis Cadillac.

Don’t look for overly familiar and nostalgic performances from this group. The seasoned veteran musicians who compose the El Dorados roar through the music and spur Otis and the Sevilles to inspired, soulful, performances that are stirring, fresh, fun and guaranteed to get the most jaded bun off its seat.
