Got a real good German/Austrian/Hungarian joint for you guys- Gretl’s Bistro in Boca Raton.

Real simple concept working here, casual-maybe 12 tables, dinner only (open Tuesday- Sunday 4pm-9pm. closed Monday), menu loaded with reasonably priced appetizers/entrees/desserts, big portions, daily dinner/drink specials, nice sized beers/ciders/wines menu, very pleasant service, requisite German/Austrian/Hungarian/Wisconsin🙂 “milk-maid” costumes or whatever the get-ups are called!

Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple did a recent dinner-and I gotta tell you Gretl’s Bistro’s food was absolutely delicious!

If you like corn muffins- the bet here is that you’re gonna love Walmart’s “house brand” The Bakery Sweet Corn Muffins.

Yesterday, the pictured package cost Jeff Eats $3.98 at- the Walmart Supercenter, 16205 South Military Trail, Delray Beach, Florida 33484- and I gotta tell you guys, these muffins blew Jeff Eats away! Now, I’m not claiming to be a corn muffin nor for that matter a cornbread- expert or something- but Jeff Eats does know that its-been a very long time since I’ve eaten a corn muffin/bread as delicious as The Bakery Sweet Corn Muffins that I picked-up yesterday!

Like I said 3-seconds ago…If you like corm muffins- the bet here- is that you’ll love Walmart’s “house brand” The Bakery Sweet Corn Muffins- they hooked Jeff Eats!

***** Trader Joe’s Sublime Ice Cream Sandwiches.

Last night Jeff Eats came across “these” ice cream sandwiches while shopping at the Trader Joe’s, 855 South Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida 33432, (561) 338-5031 and I gotta tell you-they were/are absolutely-off-the-chart-delicious!

The package of 4 ice cream sandwiches ran $3.99. For the math challenged, that’s like a buck a piece!

Trust Jeff Eats on this one, this Trader Joe’s joint got a big winner with these ice cream sandwiches!

Trader Joe’s Sublime Ice Cream Sandwiches came to fruition after months and months of tasting and re-tasting by our panel. (Yes, it’s a messy job, but we’re pretty sure we’re up to the task.) When the chocolate chip cookies finally reached the proper crunchy-chewy ratio, we moved on to the ice cream. After a few go-rounds, we landed on the ideal combination of cookie and ice cream. Then, of course, we had to make them even better. So we rolled the sides in mini, semi-sweet chocolate chips. End result? These Ice Cream Sandwiches have truly earned their Sublime moniker. And they’re sublimely priced at a mere $3.99 for a package of four (20 ounces). You’ll find them – where else? – in our freezers.
