With the caveat being- what Jeff Eats might like, you might hate and vice versa…

A couple of weeks ago- Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple ate dinner at Trattoria Nonna (which opened something like 7-months ago) in Boca Raton and we all agreed that this Italian joint had a very stylish modern-upscale “look”- that its food was lousy, that its service was lousy, that its noise level was beyond absurd!

For you guys who like “color”- ordered dishes included veal parmigiana, margherita pizza, chicken scarpiello, baked clams oreganata, calamaria fritti and vitello alla marsala- and I’m telling you that not one dish was even half way decent. The sauces were as bland as could be and the veal had the consistency of shoe leather! Service- virtually non-existent with some high school kid playing waitress. Prices- a drop on the high side- but nothing to get hysterical about! And finally to put icing on the cake- a noise level- loud beyond belief, helped in part- by a guy running around from table to table playing an accordion!

Otis Cadillac Meets The Five Boroughs

Otis Cadillac and the Eldorados featuring the Seville Sisters Rumble with The Five Boroughs Group! The two bands will perform separately, together and end with a Grand Finale with twenty performers onstage at one time!

This is a once in a lifetime special performance where Otis and the Gang will join the famous Doo Wop Group, the 5 Boroughs. Tickets for this show are going fast. Pure Heart Band
All Heart music is played and sung very authentically, in true homage to Heart! The band features the powerhouse vocals of Tiffany Hoffelder who can belt out the power hits, or sweetly deliver the softer songs. The Pure Heart band features vocalist, guitarist Robyn Fear who is a natural fit fluidly covering guitar parts and harmony vocals. Band leader Mylo Anthony covers bass and additional harmony vocals, Denis Casaubon handles keyboard work, Mike McAuliffe doubles up on keyboards and lead guitar, and Anthony Vomero keeps the beat rocking on drums.

If you’re like Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats, that being fans of “mom & pop” diners- then you gotta checkout the Stuart Diner in Stuart.

Yesterday morning, Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and Daughter Jeff Eats ate breakfastI there and I gotta tell you guys, the joint’s food, prices and service were all- right on the money!

Real simple concept at work here, open 7 days a week 7am-2:30pm, booth/ table/ counter seating, breakfast stuff/ salads/ sandwiches/ burgers/ entrees/ desserts.

Trust Jeff Eats when I tell you- that the Stuart Diner is an absolute winner!

Real simple tale to tell- appetizers/pizzas/salads/subs/pastas/desserts, inside booth/table/hi-top seating.

Like I just said, real simple tale to tell- yesterday afternoon Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats needed-some pizza and based on Jeff Eats’ reader- Lori A’s recommendation- we decided to give Fantasy Pizza in Pembroke Pines a shot! Suffice it to say, Lori A was right on the money- with the joint serving up absolutely delicious thin-crisp crust/sweet sauce/nice fold/ nice oil drip New York Style Pizza slices! Throw into the mix, that Fanatsy Pizza runs an every-day “$4.98 2-slices and a fountain drink lunch special” and “we” got a joint that Jeff Eats definitely had to tell you guys about! By the way, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats also threw some garlic rolls and zeppoles into the mix- like Fantasy Pizza’s pizza- both the rolls and zeppoles were right on the money!

Let me wrap Fantasy Pizza up for you guys by saying, if you live/work/play in Fantasy Pizza’s neighborhood- you gotta give the joint a shot!
