Papa John’s Launches Papadias – the Toasty, Satisfying Alternative to Your Usual Sandwich

Business Wire Business WireFebruary 3, 2020
Papa John’s is entering the lunch space and challenging the boring lunch routine with the launch of the NEW Papadia.
Papa John’s is upgrading guests’ lunch routines with the new Papadia – a toasty, hearty alternative to the same old sandwich routine, for just $6.

Take a break from the traditional sandwich routine with one of the four varieties of Papadia from Papa John’s.
The Papadia is crafted from Papa John’s fresh, never-frozen original dough and filled with delicious, fresh ingredients. It is served with a pepperoncini and a sauce of choice on the side.
“The Papadia is inspired by the ‘piadina,’ an Italian folded flatbread sandwich from Northern Italy. It combines the original Papa John’s crust people crave along with fresh toppings, making it the best of both worlds – it’s both a pizza and a sandwich,” said Paul Fabre, SVP Product Innovation at Papa John’s. “The Papadia is great for people on the go who are looking to mix up their traditional lunch routine.”
With four varieties, each hand-stretched, oven-baked and hand-folded to order, there’s a Papadia for everyone.

Italian: Italian flatbread-style sandwich made from original fresh dough with Alfredo sauce, spicy Italian sausage, salami, real cheese made from mozzarella and banana peppers for a little kick. Served with a Pizza sauce dipping cup.

Philly Cheesesteak: Italian flatbread-style sandwich made from original fresh dough with sliced Philly steak, fresh-cut onions and green peppers, real cheese made from mozzarella and our Philly sauce. Served with a Garlic sauce dipping cup.

Grilled BBQ Chicken & Bacon: Italian flatbread-style sandwich made from original fresh dough with grilled chicken, bacon, fresh-cut onions and real cheese made from mozzarella, drizzled with sweet and smoky BBQ Sauce. Served with a BBQ sauce dipping cup.

Meatball Pepperoni: Italian flatbread-style sandwich made from original fresh dough with spicy meatballs, pepperoni, pizza sauce, real cheese made from mozzarella and classic Italian seasoning. Served with a Pizza sauce dipping cup.

The Papadia launch comes on the heels of Papa John’s newly released Garlic Parmesan crust, the first flavor added to its original crust in the company’s history, with more exciting innovations to come in 2020.

For our purposes we’re gonna call this Josie’s Ristorante “story” – A Public Service Announcement!

Jeff Eats first told you guys about this Italian joint way back on June 21, 2008…that “story is reprinted down below!

Since that date, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have been real steady Josie’s customers! The primary reasons…real good food, real reasonable prices, full liquor bar, indoor/outdoor patio seating and not one single drop of drama going on!

Long story short, yesterday- surprise surprise surprise (I know Gomer Pyle!)- Jeff Eats learned (from a pr-piece) that Josie’s is running a Summer Special, May 1, 2016-September 30, 2016 where you get 25% off your check!

Here’s the Public Service Announcement! (pr-piece)…

Josie’s Ristorante is a “mom and pop” Southern Italian Red Sauce Joint. You know the drill, soup or salad, garlic rolls, entree and a side of pasta…pizzas, subs, calzones and strombolis. Prices are neighborhood pizzeria prices…Veal parmigiana $17.99 etc.

Over the years, I have eaten at Josie’s something like 10 times…the food is real good. I especially like Josie’s interior/atmosphere, it looks like an old bar circa 1960 with dark wood tables and booths and bar area. There is also an out-door dining patio. This is a real easy going joint, so tee shirts/shorts are a pretty common site here.

Last night I ate dinner at Josie’s. I “sampled” the veal parmigiana, veal marsala, and zuppa di pesce…everything was right on the money!

If you live in Josie’s neighborhood, this is a good joint to know about…

Josie’s is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

***** Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor, 2793 South State Road 7, Wellington, Florida 33414, (561) 328-6401.
Jeff Eats first found this joint- back in December, 2014…since then I’m thinking that I’ve probably eaten there something like 8 or 9 times- and each and every time Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor’s stuff was right on the money!

The reason for this latest shout-out…its $17.95 Tour Of Italy Special- 1/2 lasagna/ 1 chicken parm/ 1 meatball/ 1 sausage/ 2 garlic rolls/ soup or salad- which I had for dinner last night! Absolutely delicious! For the curious, Mrs. Jeff Eats is/was in NYC visiting her sister, Marcia.

Let me wrap this tale up for you guys by saying- if you live or work near Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor- give it a shot!

Posted on December 16th, 2014

***** Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor, 2793 South State Road 7, Wellington, Florida 33414, (561) 328-6401.

Real simple concept going on here at…Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza- order at the counter/food delivered to your table. The joint seats 60.

Jimmy Brooklyn’s is a relatively new-player in the Wellington pizza arena…its only been around for something like 3- months.

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently did dinner and I gotta tell you, we really enjoyed the joint. First things first, the décor is real-cool, with all kinds of NYC-Brooklyn flavored decorations. If you ain’t from Brooklyn/NYC- not too much that I can say, but hey!-the joint is called Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor with the operative word here being BROOKLYN’S.

Anyway,

Jimmy Brooklyn’s menu has the expected full-boat of appetizers, pizzas, salads, subs, pastas, meat/chicken entrees/desserts. You can check jimmybrooklynpizza.com for menu/prices/info.

Like I said 3.8 seconds ago, you order at the counter-they bring the food to your table.

The meal…Caesar salad (large-$7.95), meatball roll (mozzarella/romano cheese-$9.50) tortellini alfredo (2 garlic rolls-$11.50), slice of cheese pizza ($2.00), Sicilian slice of pizza ($2.50)–everything was A-OK! Second things second, Jimmy Brooklyn’s does slices- so, if pizza is your game, you can order a bunch of slices with different toppings-instead of getting stuck with a whole pie etc. etc. etc!

Let Jeff Eats wrap this up for you,

Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlors’ food is as good- as that served-up by most of the “mom & pop” red sauce joints-that dot South Florida’s dumpy strip center landscape. Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlors’ prices are comparable to the “mom & pop” joints- but for the same money, the “mom & pop” joints- give you full service-and “more” food in the pasta/entrée department (ie, unlimited garlic rolls and soup/or salad)- on the other hand, Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor kinda limits your “tip” exposure.

Like I said before, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats enjoyed the joint…it’s definitely worth a try!

Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor is open Sunday-Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-11pm, closed on Monday.

Hot off another killer spot on Conan (where he is one of Conan O’Brien’s favorites guests), comedian Dan Naturman – who is also known to his fans as the “real winner” of NBC’s Last Comic Standing 2, where he was the favorite of celebrity “judges” Drew Carey and Brett Butler – will be perfoming live at the Mizner Park Cultural Center!

Dan began performing stand-up comedy several years ago in, believe it or not, law school. After graduation, he decided to devote himself to stand-up full time. Comedy, he discovered, was his true passion. Besides, his grades were bad and nobody would hire him. Dan’s charming combination of self-deprecation and outright grouchiness has had audiences howling from coast to coast and has earned him four appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Tonight Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, his own “Comedy Central Presents…” Special, and a starring run on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Currently, Dan has a recurring role on HBO’s newest hit, “Crashing” and multiple appearances on Comedy Central’s “This Week at The Comedy Cellar.” More great comedy to follow – that you can be sure of!

The Duck Tavern is a “real neighborhood pub”…located in Boca Raton. If you are a fancy shmantzy—don’t bother reading the rest of this review, because this joint isn’t for you. Then again, if you are a regular-person who enjoys the simple pleasures of life…good-reasonably priced unpretentious food and drink, The Duck Tavern has a full bar and a menu of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, wings, pizzas and meat-chicken-seafood entrees that do the trick.

Check The Duck Tavern’s website www.theducktavern.com for menu/prices.

A recent food taste-netted me, sausage peppers & oinions sub ($7.25), chicken parm sub ($7.25), 1/2 lb cheeseburger ($7.25), 8 0z rib eye ($11.95), shepherd’s pie ($9.95)…like I said before, reasonably priced and delicious.

This is a neighborhood joint…if you are a REGULAR PERSON (you decide), I think that you will really enjoy The Duck Tavern

The joint is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
