A woman who rented a second story apartment beside a railway line complained to her landlord for months about the rattling and shaking the trains caused as they passed. On the phone she continuously asked for an apartment further from the line but the landlord always said it can’t be that bad. One day she rang him again and said l want you to come to my apartment and see for yourself how bad it is. So the landlord arrived at her apartment and she said there’s a train due in 3 minutes, so you’ll see what l mean. It’s worse when l’m trying to sleep so why don’t you lie on the bed beside me and you’ll experience what l’m talking about? So the landlord lays on the bed beside her. A minute later her husband walked into the bedroom and said “what’s going on here?” The landlord, looking embarrassed, said “you won’t believe this, but we’re waiting for a train.”

Wingstop is a real-easy concept to comprehend… non breaded wings, breaded boneless wings, breaded white meat chicken strips…9 flavors…handful of sides.

A recent outing had me trying—breaded wings/breaded strips/boneless wings/french fries…hawaiian, teriyaki, garlic parmesan flavors. Loved all of the offerings/flavors. Also really enjoyed the fresh hand cut french fries. From what I can tell, everything is made to order…the stuff came out of the kitchen piping hot.

If you like wings and fries, you’ll like this joint.

Last night Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Red Pine Restaurant & Bar in Boca Raton and I must tell you that this up-scale Chinese joint’s food was absoluety horrendous!

Now, you guys know that this food reviewing “situation” is purely a subjective call- What I like you may hate and vice versa…

Trust me- some of the worse Chinese food (wonton soup, egg rolls, pork dumplings, bbq ribs, roast pork fried rice, General Tso’s chicken and sesame beef) that we’ve had during our 33 years living in Florida!

Like I just said, a subjective call, but one thing I do know for sure -is that an MBA in mathematics is not required to know that pricewise this joint is an absolute rip-off!

Real simple tale to tell you guys, yesterday afternoon, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Beauregards Fine Meats & Butchery and the joint’s food absolutely killed! Order/pickup at counter, small handful of tables/counter seating, reasonably priced beef/pork/poultry, handful of lunch sandwiches, sides/prepared food menu.

Let’s wrap-up Beauregards Fine Meats & Butchery by saying, that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats loved this joint, no bs- its pastrami on rye was one of the best pastrami sandwiches that we’ve ever eaten, real nice selection of quality beef/pork/poultry, open Tuesday – Saturday 10:30am-6:00pm/closed on Sunday & Monday, its home baked chocolate chip cookies are an absolute must- get, you can check menu/prices/info at beauregardsfinemeats.com.

On December 12, 2008, I told you guys about JP’s Bagel Place…well, until a few days ago, I hadn’t been back–and things were just as terrific as I remembered.

JP’s Bagel Place in Hollywood is a “bagel-deli-diner”…maybe the joint seats 20 people. Check JP’s website www.jpsbagelplace.com for menu/prices/photos.

I love–and–I do mean love, hole in the wall joints like JP’s…nothing fancy, nothing expensive—just, good food, good service, good prices. JP’s has been around since 1982, so you got to figure…it must be doing something right.

A recent outing had me doing…western omelette (home fries, plain bagel $5.95), cheeseburger & fries ($4.95), chicken parm sub (chips, $6.25), philly cheesesteak sub (chips $6.50). Like I said before, good solid DINER FOOD.

JP’s does breakfast & lunch…Monday-Friday 7am-2pm and Saturday-Sunday 7am-1pm.

My money says…that every “neighborhood” in America has a joint just like JP’s Bagel Place…for sure, the names are different, but the decor-ambiance-food-service-prices are basically the same.

JP’s Bagel Place in Hollywood, has been around since 1982. This joint is a “neighborhood” diner and seats maybe 20. JP’s does breakfast-lunch, Monday-Friday 7am-2pm and Saturday-Sunday 7am-1pm. Take a look at its website at www.jpbagel.com for menu/prices.

JP’s Bagel is not a “typical” South Florida bagel-deli with 522 types of bagels and 91 different cream cheese spreads…but rather, shall we say, a mini-diner/lunchonette…very similar to those that dotted the United States in the 1950’s-1980’s…long before guys like Starbuck’s arrived on the scene. Guaranteed, this joint’s waitresses will “remember” you after you have eaten there once or twice.

I love joints like JP’s…real easy going atmosphere, terrific wait-staff and cheeseburgers/fries that go for $4.75 and chicken parm subs for $6.25.

If you live in JP’s neighborhood, you now know about a great place for a casual-inexpensive breakfast or lunch.

For what it’s worth, we all agreed that if this joint was a whole lot closer to Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton family abode we would all be real steady customers! Table/ counter seating, full eat at liquor bar, reasonably priced all types of pizzas/ handful of salads and meatball starters menu.

Got a real good hoagie joint for you guys to checkout, Mash Hoagies in Palm Bay.

Simple tale to tell, yesterday Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Mash Hoagies and its food absolutely killed!
Order/pickup at counter, inside table & booth seating, reasonably priced hot & cold subs (excuse me!) hoagies/ salads/ other stuff menu, open Monday – Saturday 10:30am – 8pm, Sunday: 11am – 7pm.

Now you guys and I both know that there are more hoagie joints in Florida than there are Chins in a Chinese phonebook! With that in mind, I gotta tell you, that this is the first hoagie joint that I’ve come across, that has a handful of sandwiches named after the characters in the old Mash tv show!

That said, trust Jeff Eats on this one, Mash Hoagies is turning out some real good stuff!

* Boxing Legend George Foreman Dead At Age 76!

George Foreman passed away yesterday!

A few years ago, I had the distinct honor and privilege to meet and spend a few minutes talking with the former two time heavyweight boxing champion and George Foremen Grill entrepreneur and must tell you, that he had the most ingratiating smile and warm personality that made me feel that I had known him my entire life.

George you will be sorely missed- when you get to heaven say hello from me to Joe and Muhammed!
