A homeless man walks into a bar and tells the bartender, “ If you give me a free drink, I’ll show you a trick that will blow your mind.”

The bartender is naturally skeptical and says, “ Show me the trick first and if it blows my mind I’ll give you that drink.”

The homeless man reaches into his pocket and pulls out a mouse and sets it on the bar. The mouse runs down the bar to the bar’s piano and starts running along the keys, playing a tune.

The bartender is suitably impressed and gives the homeless man a free drink.

The homeless man says, “ If you give me another drink I’ll show you another trick that will blow your mind even more. “

The bartender wasn’t sure how the homeless man could outdo the piano playing mouse, but he says, “ If you can top that mouse, I’ll let you drink free all night.”

The homeless man smiles and reaches into his other pocket and pulls out a frog that proceeds to sing along to the tune the mouse is playing.

The bartender says,” Okay, you’re drinking free all night.”

Another patron of the bar approaches the homeless man and says,” I’ll give you five hundred dollars for that frog right now!”

The homeless man says, “ Sold!”

The man gives him the money, picks up the frog and walks out of the bar as happy as a clam.

The bartender is stunned and asks, “ Why in the world did you do that!? You had a singing frog! You could have made millions with that thing, and you let it go for a measly five hundred bucks!?”

The homeless man just smiles,shakes his head and says,” Nah,that frog was worthless.” He points at the mouse and adds, “ It’s all the mouse,he doesn’t just play the piano, he’s also a ventriloquist.”

Customers can get a free doughnut with a purchase of a beverage on Friday.

Dunkin’ has also partnered with the appropriately named singer Jelly Roll to celebrate the holiday with doughnut-themed merchandise on its website. It’s also selling a limited-edition doughnut-shaped sponge for $9.98 it produced with Scrub Daddy.

Krispy Kreme
The chain is making it easy to celebrate: Any of its regular doughnuts, like glazed or cake, are free with no purchase necessary. (It’s limited time Dolly Parton-themed treats are excluded.)

Plus, it’s selling a dozen of its glazed doughnuts for just $2 with the purchase of a regularly priced dozen of doughnuts.

National Burger Chain Closes Restaurants, Might Be Filing For Bankruptcy

The long list of restaurant chains closing locations due to financial reasons keeps growing. Now, joining the likes of Red Lobster, Pizza Hut, Boston Market, TGI Fridays, Popeyes, Tijuana Flats, Cracker Barrel and Applebee’s in shuttering locations, is national burger chain BurgerFi, and also like some other companies, they might also be filing for bankruptcy soon.

The chain which now has 120 locations across the country, closed eight restaurants recently as part of an effort to boost efficiency. The move follows 14 other locations closing last year. In an earnings call, the company explained, “We continue to evaluate our portfolio with a close look at cash flow and profitability.”

The company has been struggling recently. In April, they defaulted on their credit agreement and in January, their stock was delisted from NASDAQ. In a press release, they stated that there are “several key initiatives with the goal of enhancing the company’s prospects and ensuring stable management as the company goes through the process of reviewing strategic alternatives.” However, they added that “there can be no assurance, however, that the strategic review process will result in an outcome favorable to the company or its stakeholders.”

Essentially, the company may need to declare bankruptcy, and they’ve filed documents with the SEC explaining that bankruptcy is a possible outcome. As of now, there is no official word on if more closings or a bankruptcy are in BurgerFi’s future.

Real easy tale to tell, last night Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Carlino’s Pizza Bar and the joint’s food blew us away! Inside table seating, reasonably priced salads/ pastas/ whole and by the slice pizzas/ subs/ chicken wings and tenders/ pastas/ entrees/ chocolate chip cookie menu, full eat at liquor bar, tons of flat screen tvs.

Let’s wrap-up Carlino’s Pizza Bar by saying, that this joint’s pizza is definitely one of the best New York Style Pizzas that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have eaten in Florida, that the joint “sells” pizza by the slice, that you guys gotta get the joint’s home-made chocolate chip cookie, that you can check menu/prices/info at carlinospizzabar.com and that Carlino’s Pizza Bar is open Tuesday-Thursday 4pm-11pm/ Friday-Saturday 4pm-1am/ Sunday 4pm-9pm/ closed Monday.

***** Dr. Bombay Bonus Track Brownie Ice Cream.

Yesterday afternoon while shopping at the Walmart Supercenter, 16205 South Military Trail, Delray Beach, Florida 33484, (561) 495-8127 I “discovered” Dr. Bombay Bonus Track Brownie Ice Cream and I am ashamed to admit- that it was so delicious that I finished the entire $4.96 pint in 2 sittings/1 day!

Trust Jeff Eats on this one- Dr. Bombay Bonus Track Brownie Ice Cream is an absolute must try (unless you’re allergic to chocolate, hate chocolate, hate brownies, so on and so forth)!

By the way, the Dr. Bombay Ice Cream brand launched in July, 2023 and is owned by legendary hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg.

Got a real good diner for you guys to check out, Maria’s Cafe in Stuart.

Real easy tale to tell, yesterday Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Maria’s Cafe in Stuart and its food and service were right on the money! Inside booth, table, counter seating/ outdoor covered patio table seating, reasonably priced full boat- breakfast & lunch menu, open 7 days a week 7am-2pm.

Just between us, since 2006 (that’s when Jeffeats.com was born) I’ve been in more Florida “mom & pop” diners (not to mention bagel joints) than there are Chins in a Chinese phonebook! With that in mind, I’m telling you guys, that Maria’s Cafe definitely ranks right up there as one of the best ones! Look! I know when something tastes real good, is priced right and when my coffee cup is continuously re-filled without my having to ask the waiter/waitress!

You guys gotta try Maria’s Cafe!
