Got a real good “mom & pop” diner for you guys to checkout- Bernie’s City Diner in Naples.

Real simple story to tell…all day breakfast/lunch menus, table seating inside/handful of tables outside, open 7 days a week 8am-2:30pm.

Yesterday afternoon Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats “discovered” Bernie’s City Diner and to paraphrase the judges on America’s Got Talent -“The joint got 4 yeses!”

C’mon man (I know, Joe Biden)- I kinda think that I know my “mom & pop” diners-and I’m telling you guys that Bernie’s City Diner is a real good one! Full boat of breakfast and lunch stuff, big portions, delicious food, reasonable prices, very pleasant service!

House of Pang is a “take-out” Chinese joint in Boynton Beach.

A few weeks ago, friends brought Chinese food from House of Pang -over to the Eats’ house for dinner.

The order:
wonton soup,
egg drop soup,
bbq ribs,
fried dumplings,
egg rolls,
honey garlic chicken,
shrimp with lobster sauce,
sweet & sour pork,
beef egg foo young,
General Taos chicken,
white rice,
brown rice,
roast pork fried rice,
fortune cookies,

Just so you know, prior to this “delivery” Jeff Eats had never heard of House of Pang.

Now, putting aside the fact that Jeff Eats didn’t have to pay for the food–I gotta tell you that House of Pang’s stuff was real good.

I think-you guys know, that Jeff Eats really- isn’t into “pecking orders” but the General Taos chicken, beef egg foo young, fried dumplings, egg rolls were definite keepers.

Let me wrap this up- you guys in Boynton Beach now know about a really good Chinese take-out joint.

House of Pang is open Sunday-Monday 3pm-9:30pm, Tuesday-Saturday 11am-9:30pm.

Got a real good pizza joint for you guys to checkout- Pizza District in Boca Raton.

The Skinny- the joint opened about 3 months ago, table/hi-top/counter seating, menu of reasonably priced- pizzas/salads/calzones/wings/subs/garlic rolls/beers/wines, open Monday-Thursday 11am–10pm/ Friday–Saturday 11am-11pm/ Sunday noon–10pm.

Last night, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats gave Pizza District a shot and I gotta tell you that the joint killed it! Absolutely delicious thin crust pepperoni pizza/ garlic rolls/ chicken parm sub/ Greek salad!

Let me wrap this tale up by telling you guys- that Pizza District’s delicious food/ pleasant service/ reasonable prices/ cool looking “steel” decor/ easy going vibe- spell winner in Jeff Eats’ book!

National Chicken Wing Day on July 29 lacks the significance of basically any holiday at all. Nonetheless, the faux holiday (hauxliday?) is bringing the heat in 2020. That’s both figurative and literal. You can get buffalo wings, but there are also so many wing deals this year that if you took advantage of them all you’d become Thanks to chickens.

Buffalo Wild Wings, Wingstop, Wing Zone… these are the expected hubs. The ones that have “wing” in their name. But Applebee’s is also jumping into the thigh-shaped ring on National Chicken Wing Day. You can grab buy-one-get-one-free (BOGO) wings for delivery or to-go orders at Applebee’s all over this fair land. All you’ve got to do is use the code “WINGDAY” while ordering, and you’ll get double the wings in your choice of boneless or bone-in. The offer is only going to be around for a single day, though.

The deal is available on wings tossed in Classic Hot Buffalo sauce as well as Asian Chili or Honey BBQ. The wing slinging chain is going to let you combine flavors, too. So, you can get one order with Classic Hot Buffalo sauce and then drop Asian Chili on the second.

However, you have to order through Applebees.com or the chain’s mobile app, which does mean you have to sign up for an account on the Applebee’s site if you don’t have one already. The BOGO offer won’t work unless the code is applied with an account attached. You can’t get the deal for dine-in or through a third-party delivery app. Yes, there are still some Applebee’s dining rooms open.
