Just one quick observation, there was only 1-Peter, there was only 1-Paul, there was only 1-Mary… A Band Called Honalee has 8-vocalists who apparently rotate in and out of the lineup- I guess it all depends on when/where the gig-is…it’s probably all good, but Jeff Eats just wanted you guys to know, that you may see a different “lineup” than the one that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats saw at the Duncan Theatre/Lake Worth in 2016.

A Band Called Honalee is a modern-day folk trio inspired by the music and legacy of Peter, Paul and Mary. Musically accomplished, interactive and energetic, their shows allow audiences to experience this timeless music live onstage once again.

The group believes the melodies and messages of the 1960s folk and folk/rock era are just as relevant today as they were when they were first sung, perhaps even more so. A Band Called Honalee has a roster of 8 different vocalists who are all members of the Honalee family. Each maintains an active solo career, in addition to frequently appearing with A Band Called Honalee around the country

The group maintains an active national touring schedule, with frequent appearances at performing arts centers, concert series, music festivals and arts conferences nationwide, including Arts Midwest, Performing Arts Exchange/SouthArts, and Pennsylvania Arts Presenters Conferences.

Their recordings have been featured on The Folk Connection (bostonpete.com) radio program, which showcases excellence in folk. Most recently, A Band Called Honalee has been asked to participate in educational outreach programs across the United States, where they nurture music students of all ages in songwriting and explore the continuing cultural relevance of this vital American music.

Got a real good pizza joint for you guys to check-out, Two Tomatoes in Boynton Beach.

Real simple concept at work here, appetizers/pizza/subs/pastas/entrees, order/pickup at counter, give or take a half dozen tables, open Monday-Saturday 11am-8pm/ Sunday 4pm-8pm.

Yesterday, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats gave Two Tomatoes a shot and I gotta tell you guys that the ordered -10” meatball parmigiana sub ($8.25), 2 pizza slices with fountain drink “special” ($5.99) and large antipasto salad ($9.95) were all right on the money delicious! Now I’m not gonna name names, but Two Tomatoes’ food was as good if not better than most of the “mom & pop” Italian and sub joints that we frequent by our house in Boca Raton!

Let me wrap Two Tomatoes up for you guys by saying- this joint is a winner and that if you live, work, visit or play in its neighborhood- give it a try!

Got a terrific order-pickup at the counter bbq joint for you guys- PIG-STY BBQ which opened something like 4 months ago in Boynton Beach.

Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, don’t let the “outside” photo of PIG-STY BBQ scare you off! Trust me, when you go through that red front door-you’re gonna love what you find!

Jeff Eats and a couple of buddies did a recent lunch- and I’m telling you that PIG-STY BBQ hit the ball right out of the park (I know, a bit corny!)! Cool decor-vibe, pleasant service (although, getting orders in & out a drop faster-wouldn’t be such a bad idea), reasonable prices, off the chart delicious stuff!

By the way, if you catch it right, on certain nights the joint has cover/tribute bands playing on a small stage!

This is a real simple tale to tell…

If you want some of the most delicious New York Style pizza, hot/cold subs, stromboli- down here in sunny South Florida…get yourself over to Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria in Delray Beach.

Just so you know, the joint is owned by the same folks that own- The Boys Farmers Market in Delray Beach (see review 10/17/14) …Bambini’s is basically a takeout, but there is limited indoor/outdoor seating.

This past Sunday afternoon, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats had a bunch of friends over to our home in Boca Raton…to feed the hordes of people- we picked up from Bambini’s 2- 20″ cheese pizzas ($14.99 each), 1- 20″ meatball pizza ($16.99), 1-20″ white pizza ($17.99), 3- 10″ chicken parmesan subs ($7.99 each), 3- 10″ eggplant parmesan subs ($7.99 each), 4- 10″ sausage/peppers/onions subs ($7.99 each), 3- pepperoni Stromboli ($9.99 each) and I am telling you EVERYTHING was delicious.

No fooling here, Bambini’s stuff literally blew Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and our friends away.

For what it’s worth-Jeff Eats had been hearing about this joint for months- and this past Sunday was the day “I” decided to give it a shot. The pizza was as close to perfect as can be… thin crispy crust, sweet sauce- the subs’ fillings were dynamite/the semolina seeded bread was terrific, the prices- tons of food for cheap money!

No crapping you guys, I couldn’t have picked a better joint for this particular home-event!

Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria is an absolute must try.

To make sure we are straight on the facts… basically a takeout, limited menu (stromboli, subs, wraps, salads, pizzas)- and if you are wondering, the joint “does pizza by the slice.”

Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats recently discovered- Sulphur Springs Sandwich Shop and I gotta tell you, off the chart reasonably priced delicious sandwiches and salads!

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have been fressing at Cafe Vico for over 20 years. No bs here- the joint’s food and service have always been right on the money! I singled out Cafe Vico’s chicken marsala for special attention, but trust me- in all the years of going there- I can’t recall a single dish that wasn’t real good! While I’m on the the subject of real good- these Vico Meatball Sliders (2-$12- that I had two nights ago) ain’t- no slouches either!

Cafe Vico is one of my favorite Southern Italian Restaurants in South Florida. Over the past 10 years or so, I have eaten in this joint something like 12-13 times. Do yourself a favor and check Cafe Vico’s website at www.cafevicorestaurant.com for menu/pricing/hours/photos. Although not exactly a tee shirt/shorts kind of a joint, I have been known to show up at Cafe Vico in that very costume and never felt out of place.

Cafe Vico is maybe a dollar or two more expensive than your favorite neighborhood Italian joint…the few bucks-more are well spent. The food is absolutely terrific as is the service. If you check the website, you will also find that Cafe Vico is a very attractive looking joint with a decor of a small Southern Italian Country Inn.

Cafe Vico’s menu features all of the standard favorites…mine being veal parmigiana. There are loads of pasta, fish-seafood, chicken and meat-veal dishes to please all tastes.

Cafe Vico is worth making a special trip for. Be smart and make a reservation, because it is an extremely popular restaurant and is always busy.

Cafe Vico is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

Just between you guys and Jeff Eats- I know my donuts- and I’m telling you guys that The Salty Donut makes some of the most delicious donuts that I and for that matter Mrs. Jeff Eats have ever eaten!

Simple tale to tell, this past Super Bowl Sunday we discovered The Salty Donut and I’m telling you guys- this joint is an absolute must try. Simple concept- order/pickup at counter, 6 “always” & rotating lineup of “sometimes” donuts/coffee- menu, indoor table & hi-top seating/out-door bench seating, open Tuesday-7:30am-6pm/Saturday-Sunday 8am-6pm, closed on Monday.

Like I said a couple of seconds ago- delicious donuts that are an absolute must try!

Over the years, I must have eaten breakfast/lunch in this joint at least 30 times. Imagine an IHOP on steroids decked-out in an Abe Lincoln Log Cabin motif and you pretty much got this joint. Great eggs, pancakes and waffles. No more expensive than an IHOP, Perkins or neighborhood bagel joint. Tom Sawyer also has a great selection of pastries, like chococlate cigars and huge black & white cookies.

This joint is open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch. Just so you know, most folks eat BREAKFAST FOOD here but Tom Sawyer’s burgers, sandwiches and salads are very good diner-quality food. On the weekends, don’t be shocked to see a line out the door waiting for tables.
