* Eating Bacon, No Drinking, No Smoking, No Partying!

Just read the below aol.com “story”–about some 115 year old Brooklyn woman- Miss Susie who attributes her longevity to eating bacon every single morning and abstaining from alcohol, smoking and partying…

Now let me see,

Jeff Eats was born in Brooklyn. CHECK!
Jeff Eats- eats bacon, but not every single morning. ALMOST CHECK!
Jeff Eats-doesn’t drink. CHECK!
Jeff Eats-doesn’t smoke. CHECK!
Jeff Eats-hasn’t been to a Bar or Bat Mitzvah in something like a year. CHECK!

Rounding out things, using Miss Susie’s formula, I’m probably good for another 20-35 years…of course I’ll have to jump- my bacon consumption to every day to make the numbers work!- Also, does the bacon have to be eaten in the morning and how much bacon do I have to eat? Also, do you guys think I could substitute bbq pork ribs for the bacon on Tuesdays and Fridays?

BROOKLYN (PIX11) – 1899 was quite the year. It’s when Staten Island and Queens officially became part of New York City, the paper clip was introduced, and Miss Susannah Mushatt Jones made her debut115 years later, all are still alive and well, but Miss Susie is the one with reason to celebrate.

The Brooklyn community that she has called home for the past several decades gathered at the Vandalia Senior Center in Brooklyn to honor the super centenarian to celebrate her 115th birthday.

Miss Susie has a lot to brag about. She is New York City’s oldest resident, has lived in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, and she has more than 100 nieces and nephews.

“You know what she does, she eats bacon,” Jones’ Goddaughter Valerie Price told PIX11 News last year, shedding light on how Miss Susie has lasted so long. “She eats bacon every single morning. Now I don’t advocate that because I don’t even eat it myself but that’s what it is.”

Today, Miss Susie admits that abstaining from alcohol, smoking, and partying probably helped her live as long as she has.

To put everything in perspective, Miss Susie has survived two World Wars, 22 U.S. presidents, the Great Depression, the Cold War, the birth of the telephone, radio, TV and internet, the Civil Rights Movement, and every Super Bowl and World Series ever played.

I don’t know about you guys, but in Jeff Eats’ book- Orlando (where Nino’s is located) and Boca Raton (where Jeff Eats lives) aren’t exactly a hop, skip, and jump from each other!

Last night, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “did” dinner at Nino’s and just- as it did back in 2013 (when Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats last visited) is still pumping out delicious reasonably priced stuff!

Let Jeff Eats wrap this tale up for you guys by saying, if Nino’s was by Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton abode, we’d be real steady customers!

The next time you are in Orlando…visiting the kid at UCF, or riding the rides at Disney & Universal, or doing Halloween Horror Night or shopping at some outlet mall—do yourself a huge favor and go eat at Nino’s Pizza & Restaurant–a “mom & pop” red sauce joint that will absolutely blow you away.

Jeff Eats’ poison-Halloween Horror Night at Universal Studios…Mrs. Jeff Eats’ -outlet mall, as if you didn’t see that one coming!

Anyway…

Like I said 9 seconds ago, you guys gotta try Nino’s Pizza. This un-assuming pizza joint, turns out some of the most delicious New York Style Pizza -Jeff Eats has had in Florida. A large 16 inch -thin crusted/sweet sauce pie will set you back $10.95. After you and your family/friends order the pizza, figure on splitting…equally-delicious sausage/ peppers/ onions stromboli roll ($6.95), a veal parmigiana 10″ sub ($8.45), a meatball 10″ sub ($6.95) and some meat lasagna ($9.95). By the way, based on how Jeff Eats eats, I’m thinking that the aforementioned (that’s the lawyer in me!) family/friends are maybe 3–tops 4 people…if you got more, just order more stuff.

Let me wrap things up here…

Nino’s food was so terrific, that Jeff Eats “took to go” a sausage/ pepperoni stromboli roll ($6.95) and a large mozzarella/ ricotta calzone ($13) for a next day Boca Raton reheating.

Got an absolutely terrific pizza joint for you guys to checkout- Paul’s Chicago Pizza in Saint Petersburg (by the way, the original Paul’s Chicago Pizza is located at 1500 N McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759, (727) 723-9777, paulschicagopizza.com).

Real simple tale to tell- yesterday afternoon, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Paul’s Chicago Pizza and the joint’s food blew us away. Real easy concept working here- booth/table/counter seating, menu of reasonably priced pizzas/subs/wings/salads/other stuff, loads of flat screen tvs, beer/wine.

Like I said 3 seconds ago, the joint’s food blew us away!

No if ands or buts, some of the most delicious deep dish pizza and cracker crust pizza that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have had the pleasure to devour!

Just so you guys know, the meatball parm sub and garlic poppers that we also ordered, killed!
