Now, you guys and Jeff Eats both know that this whole food blog “reviewing” situation is purely one big subjective call- you know, what I like, you may hate and vice versa!

With that in mind, a couple of days ago while shopping at The Fresh Market located at 5540 North Military Trail, Boca Raton, Florida 33496, (561) 994-2221) I came across Bagels by Bell d/b/a B&S Bialy (pkg-6, $4.99) in its bakery department and I gotta tell you guys- that all 6 bialys have already been toasted, eaten and were absolutely- off-the-chart delicious!

Like I said a few seconds ago, what I like you may hate and vice versa. All I know, is that in my day- I’ve probably eaten something like a 22,384 bialys and that Bagels by Bell d/b/a B&S Bialy -bialys rank right up there with some of the best that I’ve eaten!

For you “detail” guys- the 6 bialys were toasted and eaten un-sliced (2 were topped with melted American cheese and bacon, 3 were topped with butter and strawberry jam, 1 was topped with cream cheese).

There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a large, trouble-making biker steps up next to me, grabs my drink, and gulps it down in one swig.

“Well, whatcha’ gonna do about it?”, he says, menacingly, as I burst into tears.

“This is the worst day of my life,” I say. “I’m a complete failure. I was late to a meeting and my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen and I don’t have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife with another man and then my dog bit me.”

“So I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all, I buy a drink, I drop a capsule in, and sit here watching the poison dissolve; then you show up and drink the whole thing! But enough about me, how’s your day going?”

Got a real good Italian joint for you guys to checkout, Joseph’s Pizza in Atlantic Beach.

Simple tale to tell, last week Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats, Son Jeff Eats and a couple of long-time “originally from Brooklyn” friends- “discovered” Joseph’s Pizza and I gotta tell you- the joint’s food was right on the money! Inside table & counter seating/ outside covered patio table seating, reasonably priced appetizers/ soups/ salads/ pastas/ chicken wings/ hot & cold sandwiches/ pizzas/ entrees/ desserts/ beer & wine menu, Saturday & Sunday brunch, open Tuesday-Thursday noon-9pm/ Friday noon-10pm/ Saturday 10am-10pm/ Sunday 10am-9pm/ closed on Monday.

Let’s wrap-up Joseph’s Pizza by saying- if this joint was a whole lot closer to Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton abode, we definitely would be real steady customers! By the way, Joseph’s fried calamari alone – is worth the price of admission and Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats’ long-time “originally from Brooklyn” friends picked up the bill!

Humor!

The Three Little Pigs went to lunch one day. Pig #1 ordered a bountiful lunch. Pig #2 ordered a healthier but still substantial lunch. Pig #3 ordered water.

As the meal went on, Pigs 1 and 2 ordered refills, seconds and desert; pig 3 kept requesting more water.

Finally, pigs 1 and 2 asked their friend, “What’s this with all the water? Aren’t you going to eat ANYTHING?”

Pig 3 smiled pleasantly and responded, “One of us has to go wee wee wee all the way home.”

Got a real good Italian Ice/Soft Serve Ice Cream/Gelati joint for you guys to checkout, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice in Boca Raton.

Real simple tale to tell, Jeremiah’s is a fast growing Italian Ice franchise (since 2019) which currently has stores spread-out over Florida. Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas. Three weeks ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff “discovered” Jeremiah’s Boca Raton joint and have been back 5 times since that initial outing. Order/pickup at inside counter/outside walk-up windows, handful of inside/outside tables, reasonably priced- 40 rotating and seasonal Italian Ice flavors/ vanilla-chocolate soft serve/ loads of toppings menu.

Now, just between you and me, I kinda think that I know my Italian Ices and Soft Serve Ice Cream and I’m telling you guys that Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is turning out absolutely delicious stuff!

Like I said a few seconds ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have been to Jeremiah’s 6 times (between 7:30-9:30pm) and each and every time- there were lines both inside and outside with people waiting to order. In addition, every table inside/ outside was taken. Of interest, all ages were there.

Not sure as to how it all plays out franchise wise, but for right now, the Jeremiah’s (which opened in Boca Raton on June 28th, 2021)) looks like a home-run business!

Simple tale to tell, yesterday, Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and eight long time “Brooklyn” friends “discovered” Packy’s Sports Grill and I gotta tell you that its food was absolute dynamite! Inside table/booth/hi-top seating, outside patio table/hi-top seating, separate full liquor bar, loads of tvs inside and outside, pool table, reasonably priced appetizers/ salads/ sandwiches/ wings/ soups/ burgers/ entrees/ desserts menu, super pleasant staff, events calendar- food & booze specials/ live music/ karaoke/ poker/ outdoor car shows.

Let’s wrap Packy’s Sports Grill up- by saying that Packy’s real good food, reasonable prices, terrific staff, no frills decor and no fancy schmancy anything, make it a winner!

Charley, a new retiree-greeter at Wal-Mart, just couldn’t seem to get to work on time. Every day he was 5, 10, 15 minutes late. But he was a good worker, really tidy, clean-shaven, sharp-minded and a real credit to the company and obviously demonstrating their “Older Person Friendly” policies.

One day the boss called him into the office for a talk. “Charley, I have to tell you, I like your work ethic, you do a bang-up job when you finally get here; but your being late so often is quite bothersome.”

“Yes, I know boss, and I am working on it.”

“Well good, you are a team player. That’s what I like to hear”.

“Yes sir, I understand your concern and I will try harder”.

Seeming puzzled, the manager went on to comment, “I know you’re retired from the Armed Forces. What did they say to you there if you showed up in the morning late so often?”

The old man looked down at the floor, then smiled. He chuckled quietly, then said with a grin, “They usually saluted and said, Good morning, Admiral, can I get your coffee, sir?”

Table/booth seating, reasonably priced full-boat menu of Brooklyn Jewish American circa 1957 Chinese food, open Tuesday-Saturday 11am-8:30pm/ closed Sunday-Monday.
