***** Yummy House, 22012 West Waters Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33604, (813) 915-2828.

For our purposes Jeff Eats is gonna call this Yummy House story…

“A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT”

Just so you guys don’t think that Jeff Eats has gone senile or something, I know that I’ve already told you about this joint twice (1/30/14 & 7/5/15)-all I can tell you- is that Yummy House’s food is so-good that…

Anyway,

Last night, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats ate at the Yummy House and the egg rolls, pan fried dumplings, sesame chicken, orange pork chops, roast pork fried rice were all-off the the chart delicious!

Take it from Jeff Eats, Yummy House is an absolute must try!

***** Yummy House, 2202 West Waters Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33604, (813) 915-2828.

Go figure!

Some of the best Cantonese Chinese food that Jeff Eats has ever eaten- is being served up by Yummy House–a “typical” mom & pop-decor Chinese joint in Tampa.

Trust Jeff Eats on this one, I’d match Yummy’s–eggrolls, wonton soup, fried dumplings, bbq ribs, kung po shrimp, hong kong roast duck, sesame chicken, orange pork chops, roast pork fried rice -up-against the best joints that I’ve eaten in/taken out-anywhere in Florida-not to mention New York City and San Francisco’s Chinatowns.

I ain’t playing here…amazing delicious food, huge portions at real reasonable prices.

Just as a point of reference, Jeff Eats knows that there are a boat-load of you guys who swear by Silver Pond in Tamarac—Yummy House’s food v. Silver Pond’s food, would be like having matched Joe Louis in his prime against your 87 year old Uncle Joey (by marriage to you Aunt Marlene) who has glaucoma in both eyes…I know, overly dramatic, but definitely not even close.

Look I know that a ton of Jeff Eats’ audience is in Dade-Broward-Palm Beach—but what is, is! I am telling you, this Yummy House joint is really in a league-of its own. Unfortunately for us (you guys and Jeff Eats), it isn’t in our backyard. But like I just said, what is, is! By the way, that “what is, is” is about 235 miles away/figure 4 hours–unless you’re flying (in a plane, that is).

So! If you live or work in Yummy’s neighborhood, you now know about a great Chinese joint.

You can check menu/prices at www.yummyhoustampa.com.

Yummy House is open 7 days a week…11am-3pm, 5pm-10pm.

One final bit of housekeeping…there are 3 Yummy restaurants in Tampa and 1 -in Sarasota. They are owned by the same folks, but each has a slightly different name. For example Yummy House Bistro, Yummy Noodle House…This review is for the Waters-Tampa location. Jeff Eats has not yet tried the others-so no verdict on their respective food etc.

Bull & Bear (Waldorf Astoria Orlando- Orlando)

Posted on June 8th, 2016 · American Orlando Seafood · No Comments »

***** Bull & Bear, Waldorf Astoria Orlando, 14200 Bonnet Creek Resort Lane, Orlando, Florida 32821, (407) 597-5500.

For our purposes-let’s call Bull & Bear an “upscale” steak-seafood restaurant. The joint is located in the Waldorf Astoria Orlando- hotel in Orlando and is open for dinner 365 days a year 6pm-10pm. For you guys who maybe wondering, separate full bar area, booth and table seating.

image

image

Real simple tale to tell you guys, this past Sunday- Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and a group of friends ate dinner there- and the food, service, decor were off the chart terrific. Just between us guys, this Bull & Bear is right up there with the best upscale steak-seafood joints that Jeff Eats has been to in Florida. In addition to having top-notch food/service/decor, Bull & Bear’s staff could give a rats ass that you’re wearing your tee shirt/shorts/ sneaker ensemble with those Mickey Mouse ears you purchased earlier in the day at the Magic Kingdom!

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

image

Now, before you get sticker-shock, Bull & Bear’s menu- has got some real heavy duty prices on it. The way I look at it, every so often “heavy duty” works- if the food/service/decor are outrageously good, but Jeff Eats is definitely not looking to make-spending this kind of cash an everyday occurrence!

image

image

image

Let Jeff Eats wrap this one up for you guys, Bull & Bear is an outstandingly good restaurant. Top notch food/decor and a wait-staff that knows its business and doesn’t take itself too seriously! One final thought before I run over to Wendy’s for lunch, the joint’s fried chicken with mashed potatoes:/gravy was outrageously delicious- putting its $42 price tag aside for a moment, you’ll never-ever be able to “look” at Publix’s fried chicken in the same way that you did before!

Rocky traveled with Drew Carey to Iraq to entertain the troops and was seen on the Showtime special Patriot Act: A Jeffrey Ross Home Movie. Rocky has filmed his own Comedy Central Presents special and was voted the network’s second most popular comedian in a nationwide poll. He has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and appeared on A&E‘s Evening At The Improv and VH1‘s Stand-Up Spotlight, along with sitcom appearances on Cheers and his own NBC pilot called the Rocky LaPorte Show.
Rocky has opened for the likes of Garry Shandling, Drew Carey, Tim Allen, Louie Anderson, Hootie and the Blowfish and the Righteous Brothers, just to name a few. His clean, blue-collar style of comedy continues to increase in popularity as he travels the country.

Comedian Bobby Collins has an ability to truthfully translate the human condition. Audiences across the country relate to his comedic characterizations as he exposes the humor of day-to-day situations as well as serving up resplendent rants on world events.

Through precise physical timing and impeccable audience insight, he has honed his talents while performing from hole in the wall clubs to sold out theaters. Bobby Collins’ rise to top headlining, comedic master was inevitable. His true dedication to his craft is what keeps his vibrant shows consistently sold out.

A native New Yorker, Collins possesses a confidence and genuine everyman likeability that can only be earned. He knows what it’s like to work a day job, in order to pursue a dream. He’s flipped his share of burgers, as well as signing on as a substitute high school history teacher, to pay the bills – all the while performing in comedy clubs at night.

After heeding a conversation with his father, with some trepidation, he ventured into sales. Settling into the high fashion industry. A detour that proved so successful, that in the 1980’s he had risen to Vice President at Calvin Klein. It was there that he found himself faced with a life changing decision; remain here or chuck the security (and more than substantial steady income) for the uncertain challenge of heading out on the road – to pursue his dream of becoming a professional, full time stand-up comedian.

It was a decision he’s never regretted.

Realizing his dream has given Bobby the opportunity to tour with titans of entertainment like Frank Sinatra, Cher, Julio Iglesias and Dolly Parton. As a professional stand-up comedian, he’s worked alongside friends, Chris Rock, Ray Romano and Drew Carey, as well as many others. Rosie O’Donnell specifically requested that Bobby take over as host for Stand-Up Spotlight. Collins is widely regarded as a “comic’s comic.”

Through his personal appearances at Comedy Clubs, Theaters, Corporate and Charity events, coupled with innumerable television appearances on legendary shows like Letterman, The Tonight Show with both Jimmy Fallon and Jay Leno, Collins continues to add new fans of all ages to his loyal base of diehard followers.

It is his relationship with his audiences that results in sold out shows everywhere he makes an appearance. What you see is what you get – Collins is the same man on and off the stage. Bobby Collins has a genuine love for what he does. With such skillful dissection of everyday life, he weaves his uproarious storytelling with effortless flair and charisma as he successfully dismantles any and all socioeconomic, race and age divides. As evidenced by his birthday performance for Chelsea Clinton at the White House, to appearances in US embassies and USO shows abroad. Night after night, Bobby Collins masterfully reflects the hilarious truth – we’re all in this together!

Bobby currently has 5 CD’s, 3 DVD’s and a new special slated for early next year.

With the critically acclaimed publication of his first book, “On The Inside – Witisms and Wisdomisms by Comedian Bobby Collins” we learn, through his personal and professional tragedies and triumphs, what has shaped his beliefs. With humorous recall, Bobby recounts his search for balance between career and family. The Boca Black Box is thrilled to welcome their friend, Bobby Collins, back to the stage this November!

Florida Festival of Flavor & Fire- June 11 & 12 (The Lakeland Center- Lakeland)

image

* Florida Festival of Flavor & Fire- June 11 & June 12.

Call Son Jeff Eats and Daughter Jeff Eats “wild and crazy kids” but both of them will be at the Florida Festival of Flavor & Fire on Sunday, June 12th! Coincidently they got some “business” to take care of in the area, so their plan is to stop in around 2:30pm and see what’s what!

Sounds like it should be a pretty “hot” event!

If you wanna go, check groupon.com which has some $15 tickets for $10- and if you come-only-for the last 2 hours on either day, those $15 tickets are $5 at The Lakeland Center box-office!

By the way, if you go and want to “look” for Son Jeff Eats and Daughter Jeff Eats, they “look” just like their mother, Mrs. Jeff Eats! By the way- the “little darlings” apparently inherited their love of spicy/hot foods from Mrs. Jeff Eats, because spicy/hot is definitely not in this cowboy’s repertoire!
