Got a real good pizza joint for you guys, Pizza Girls in West Palm Beach.

Real easy concept to explain…handful of tables inside/outside, order at/pickup at the counter, menu loaded with- subs (Pizza Girls calls them heroes), pizza slices/pies, calzones, pizza rolls, salads, wings and a handful of other stuff…By the way, in addition to the Clematis Street joint, the Pizza Girls have a food truck that works Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties-you can peruse Pizza Girls’ menu and food truck schedule at pizzagirls.com.

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently did-dinner which netted us…an All Beef Hot Dog Rolled in Mozzarella Cheese & Pizza Dough, a Chicken Parmesan Sub (Pizza Girls calls it a Chicken Parmesan Hero), a Calzone stuffed with Ricotta, Mozzarella & Parmesan Cheese, a Slice of Cheese Pizza and a Greek Salad and I gotta tell you- everything was pretty much right on the money! For those of you who insist on “gory details”- Jeff Eats really enjoyed the cheese pizza- thin/crisp/sweet sauce same for the sub-calzone-salad, could have done without the hot dog! Now, on the other hand, Mrs. Jeff Eats who “rated” everything as being delicious- had the hot dog as her favorite item!- which once again proves Jeff Eats’ point that this food “reviewing” gig is purely a subjective exercise and what I may like, you on the other hand- may hate!- or as the legendary philosopher Sly Stone famously pronounced:

Uncle Al’s Sports Cafe…neighborhood sports bar, with something like 17 flat screen tvs, handful of arcade games…real good- reasonably priced sports bar food.

Did some fried wings, bacon cheeseburger, french fries, onion rings, zucchini sticks, grilled chicken caesar wrap…like I said, good-reasonably priced sports bar food.

If I lived or worked in Uncle Al’s neighborhood, I would be a good customer. Real good food…very pleasant wait-staff…menu loaded with appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wings, meat-seafood-chicken entrees. Unfortunatley, this joint is something like 25 miles from my home.

Got a really cool “music-dance-eat-drink” joint for you…The Stage located in Bonita Springs.

At this stage of the “story” do me a huge favor and check www.thestagebonita.com…in a nutshell, on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday starting at 4pm The Stage features some of the best original bands, cover bands and tribute acts in Florida. Sometimes the “music” is free and sometimes there is a cover charge. To round things out, The Stage has a full-bar and a menu loaded with very reasonably priced “decent enough” appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches and meat/chicken/seafood entrees.

The play here…get a good table and plan on staying awhile. In recent months I’ve been there twice and I had a blast.

Got a real good “mom & pop” American-diner joint for you…Gilbert’s 17th Street Grill.

The menu is not large…but has enough soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, grilled items and desserts…so nobody’s gonna starve. A recent outing netted me a cheeseburger, bbq ribs and a philly cheesesteak sandwich…everything was delicious and priced just right. Nothing fancy here, just real good food. Gilbert’s is open Monday-Saturday 11am-9pm. The joint is closed on Sunday.
