Poppies is a New York “kosher style” deli. Poppies plays” in the same South Florida market as Too-Jays, 3G’s Deli, Gourmet Deli (just to name a few)… not to mention every neighborhood bagel joint.

Poppies is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Poppies in addition to its sit-down business, does a tremendous amount of take-out and catering.

I am sure that you have a favorite South Florida– New York “kosher style” deli joint.

Trust me on this, Poppies is right up there with the best of them. Very good food…Very good prices…Terrific menu selection…Large/attractive looking joint with an excellent appetizing department.

One day, a farmer was tending to his livestock when he noticed that one of his cows was
completely cross-eyed. He called up a veterinarian friend of his who told him to bring in his cow.
The vet took one look at the cow, stuck a tube up the cow’s butt, blew into the tube until the cow’s eyes straightened out. The vet charged the farmer a hundred bucks and the farmer went home happy.
About a. week later, the cow’s eyes were crossed again, but this time the farmer figured he could probably take care of the problem himself. So he called his hired hand over, and together they put a tube up the cow’s butt.
The farmer put his lips to the tube and started to blow. Strangely, nothing happened, so he asked his hired hand to give it a try. The hired hand removed the tube, turned it around, put it in the cow’s butt and started to blow.
“What are you doing?” asked the horrified farmer.
“Well, I wasn’t gonna use the side that YOU put your mouth on.”

Josie’s Ristorante is a “mom and pop” Southern Italian Red Sauce Joint. You know the drill, soup or salad, garlic rolls, entree and a side of pasta…pizzas, subs, calzones and strombolis. Prices are neighborhood pizzeria prices…Veal parmigiana $17.99 etc.

Over the years, I have eaten at Josie’s something like 10 times…the food is real good. I especially like Josie’s interior/atmosphere, it looks like an old bar circa 1960 with dark wood tables and booths and bar area. There is also an out-door dining patio. This is a real easy going joint, so tee shirts/shorts are a pretty common site here.

Last night I ate dinner at Josie’s. I “sampled” the veal parmigiana, veal marsala, and zuppa di pesce…everything was right on the money!

If you live in Josie’s neighborhood, this is a good joint to know about…

Josie’s is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

Do you guys know what scarily good means? Well, Granger’s Grille in Delray Beach is scarily good.

Real quick story…

Hole in the wall with scarily good American-Style food located at 215 Northeast 6th Avenue, Delray Beach after 23 years was forced to move- because the landlord sold the building it was in. A few months later (January, 2017) the “former” hole in the wall re-opened 3-times larger at 892 Southeast 5th Avenue, Delray Beach serving the same scarily good American-Style food!

All Jeff Eats can tell you guys, is that if you’re into absolutely dynamite burgers/ wings/ bbq ribs/ fried zucchini/ onion rings/ French fries/ tuna salad/ chili/ fried chicken/ onion soup/ meatloaf so-on and so forth, portions that could choke a horse, super reasonable prices and a staff that can’t do enough for you- Granger’s Grille is a must try for you!

Jeff Eats has been eating at Granger’s for years and I gotta tell you, the joint’s food always kills!…great burgers, wings, meatloaf, barbecue ribs, salads, onion rings, soups, French fries, sandwiches- you name it- and this no frills American-Style hole in the wall-makes it just right!

Granger’s Bar & Grill is an absolute must try!

I love this joint! Trust Jeff Eats when I tell you, you will too!

Granger’s is a 38 seat bar-grill located on Federal Highway. The joint has something like 10 seats at the bar and a handful of booths and tables…one waitress-one busgirl-3 in the kitchen and that’s the whole shooting match. By the way, the waitress and busgirl are also the bartenders. The bathrooms are out-houses in the parking lot.

Granger’s food is absolutely great. Appetizers, burgers, salads, main dishes everything is delicious. How that little kitchen bangs out so much delicious food is beyond me, but in the 30-40 times that I have eaten at Granger’s everything was right on the money.

I am telling you, that this little joint is a MUST for you. Wear tee shirt/shorts so you don’t look stupid. The joint is open Monday-Saturday for lunch and dinner. The prices are also dirt cheap and if you are there on a Saturday Night you have to try the brick of meatloaf that is one of this joint’s specialities.
