***** Windy City Pizza, 401 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida 33444, (561) 266-2811.
Got a real good 4-month old pizza joint for you guys- and I do mean real good, Windy City Pizza in Delray Beach!
The joint seats something like 20 people and “specializes” in Chicago Style thin-crust pizza. Throw in a handful of appetizers, salads and hot subs- and you pretty much got the whole menu-shooting match! You can check menu/prices/info at delraywindycitypizza.com. The joint is open Tuesday-Friday 11:30am-9pm, Saturday-Sunday 3pm-9pm, closed Monday.
Just between you guys and Jeff Eats “most” people know that Chicago is known for deep-dish pizza…as Gomer Pyle once said (actually it was more like 23,489 times) surprise, surprise, surprise!- in reality there is more to that story than meets the eye (if you choose to believe Jeff Eats’ friend Warren who has lived in Chicago for the past 41 years)- North Chicago is known for deep-dish pizza and South Chicago is known for thin crust pizza!
Long story short,
Last night Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats ate at Windy City (for those who don’t know, Chicago’s nickname is The Windy City) and I gotta tell you that the joint makes some of the most delicious thin crust pizza that we’ve had in a very long time. Just so you know, Windy City’s round pizza is cut into small squares and features a delicious super thin crispy crust and a dynamite sweet sauce. For good measure, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats also split a house salad and a fried zucchini appetizer, both of which killed!
Let Jeff Eats wrap this baby up for you, Windy City makes delicious thin crust pizza. Based on Jeff Eats being on a diet 😏- I passed on trying Windy City’s sub-offerings! But trust me when I tell you, I definitely have plans to do so, in the very near future.

***** Luigi Di Roma, 718 South Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach, Florida 33441, (954) 531-6151.
Got a real good Italian joint for you guys to checkout- Luigi Di Roma in Deerfield Beach.
Simplest of tales to tell- last night Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and Daughter Jeff Eats gave Luigi Di Roma a shot and I gotta tell you guys that the joint’s reasonably priced- food was delicious and its waitstaff was as solid as could be.
Let me wrap this tale up by saying that Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and Daughter Jeff Eats really enjoyed Luigi Di Roma- that the joint is open Monday – Thursday: 4pm-10pm, Friday – Saturday: 4pm-11pm, Sunday: 11am-9pm…that it has daily drink/dinner specials and complementary live music entertainment in its lounge area.

Gallaghers Steakhouse, 2005 Northwest Executive Center Circle, Boca Raton, Florida 33431, (561) 559-5800.
Last night Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple ate dinner at Gallaghers Steakhouse which opened something like 6 months ago in Boca Raton and I gotta tell you guys all 4 of us were very disappointed!
Simple tale to tell, indoor table & booth/outside covered patio table seating, “typical” upscale steakhouse white table cloth dark wood decor, full liquor bar, “expected” upscale steakhouse appetizer/meat/seafood/sides menu/prices. Our meal (no liquor or desserts) with tip was $400. The food at best was mediocre- trust me, all four of us have had much better here in Florida!
Rather than going on and on, I am telling you guys- for the same money (off the top of my head) I can name 5 upscale steakhouses within a 15 minute drive from Gallaghers Steakhouse that are better, New York Prime (Boca Raton), Abe & Louie’s (Boca Raton), Ruth’s Chris Steak House (Boca Raton), NYY Steaks (Coconut Creek), Cut 432 (Delray Beach). Three last thoughts, for the money- portions were extremely skimpy, porterhouse steak and prime rib/sides were all served barely lukewarm, service was pleasant but amateurish- can’t remember ever seeing a busboy nor anyone ever refilling a water glass or asking our party how every-thing was!
Now you guys and I know that this food reviewing gig is purely a subjective call, you know what Jeff Eats loves, you may hate and vice versa! With that in mind, you can check menu/prices/info at gallagherssteakhouse.com.
Gallaghers Steakhouse is open 7 days a week noon-10pm.

***** Hunan Gardens
4900 Linton Boulevard
Delray Beach, Florida 33445
(561) 498-1898
Let me start by saying…HUNAN GARDENS IS A GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD CHINESE RESTAURANT…The operative word in the last sentence is, NEIGHBORHOOD, capisce?
Over the years I must have eaten in this joint at least 20 times. I can’t remember a time, when Hunan Gardens failed to pass my circa 1957 Brooklyn Jewish American Chinese Taste Test of – wonton soup-egg rolls-spare ribs-pan fried dumplings-roast pork fried rice-sweet and sour chicken-pistachio ice cream!
Gourmet stuff? I don’t think soooo! This is a good NEIGHBORHOOD Chinese joint to know about. For those who live in the Delray Beach area, Hunan Gardens is located in the “middle” of a strip shopping center located at the southeast corner of the Linton Boulevard/Military Trail intersection.
Hunan Gardens is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. By the way, this joint is owned/run by super-nice people.

Bamboo Wok currently has 3 South Florida locations…Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Coconut Creek.
Bamboo Wok is a take-out-only joint.
Bamboo Wok’s food is excellent. The food is as good as your favorite South Florida Chinese take-out…in fact, Bamboo Wok’s food could compete quite nicely with most of NYC’s Chinese eat-in/take-out joints. A few of my favorite dishes are…boneless bbq spare ribs, .pan fried dumplings, moo shu pork, beef with mixed vegetables. Trust me on this, if a Bamboo Wok is in your neighborhood, after you order food the first time, you will make this your regular take-out Chinese joint.
Check out Bamboo Wok’s website www.bamboowok.com for menu/pricing details. Bamboo Wok is open 7-days a week.

Humor!
An atheist was seated next to a dusty old cowboy on an airplane and he turned to him and said, “Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.”
The old cowboy, who had just started to read his book, replied to the total stranger, “What would you want to talk about?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” said the atheist. “How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?” as he smiled smugly.
“Okay,” he said. “Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?”
The atheist, visibly surprised by the old cowboy’s intelligence, thinks about it and says, “Hmmm, I have no idea.”
To which the cowboy replies, “Do you really feel qualified to discuss God, Heaven, and Hell, or life after death when you don’t know crap?”
