The Pompano Beach Amp and AEG Live are proud to present Sammy Hagar, one of rock music’s most dynamic frontmen and acclaimed songwriters, in concert with his new band The Circle and touring with Collective Soul.

As a multiplatinum-selling solo artist and frontman for iconic bands including Montrose and Van Halen, with whom he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Haggar has sold more than 50 million albums and influenced the sound of rock music for more than four decades. His newest supergroup The Circle, features Michael Anthony, the renowned bassist who’s played with him for the past 30 years in bands including Van Halen and Chickenfoot; Jason Bonham, the acclaimed drummer and son of Led Zeppelin’s iconic drummer, John Bonham; and Vic Johnson, Hagar’s longtime guitar virtuoso who seamlessly shreds through his own, as well as some of rock’s most iconic guitarist’s riffs.

Formed in 2014, The Circle has thrilled audiences and critics alike with their live concerts, with USA Today remarking, “from the first thunderous notes … it’s apparent that this machine is firing on all cylinders.” The foursome rip through a set list of 40 years of Hagar’s epic rock anthems including Rock Candy, There’s Only One Way To Rock, Finish What Ya Started, Right Now and I Can’t Drive 55, as well as some classic Led Zeppelin jams like Whole Lotta Love, When the Levee Breaks and Moby Dick.

Remarking on the group’s setlist, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram said, “The Circle is a quartet capable of drawing upon some of the most indelible rock music of the last 40 years.” The band’s live DVD, At Your Service” recorded during their first North American tour, debuted at No. 2 on SoundScan’s chart – a testament to the strength of the band’s live shows.

Collective Soul broke into mainstream popularity when they rose to international fame in 1993 with the rock anthem “Shine.” The multi-platinum quintet has helped shape and define alternative rock with lots of guitars and attitude for the last two decades and has a catalog of #1 hits under their belt, including “Shine,” “December,” “The World I Know,” “Precious Declaration,” and “Heavy.”

The band released their long-awaited ninth album, See What You Started By Continuing in October 2015. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Alternative Album chart, marking the band’s highest charting position in their illustrious career. The band has been back in the studio working on their 10th album, which is set for release in early 2018.

The Daybreak Diner (Orlando)

Posted on May 8th, 2017 · American Breakfast Orlando · 4 Comments »

***** The Daybreak Diner, 3335 Curry Ford Road, Oralndo, Florida 32806, (407) 898-8338.

For our purposes, we’re gonna call The Daybreak Diner in Orlando “an out of sight, out of mind” mom & pop diner joint.

Jeff Eats first told you guys about- The Daybreak Diner way-back on 9/18/12…and the truth be told, I hadn’t been back until this past Thursday (5/4/17)- when Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats did breakfast there!

Long story short, breakfast absolutely killed. Delicious food, reasonable prices, big portions and terrific service!

Now just between you guys and Jeff Eats, I thought that 2017’s The Daybreak Diner was way better than 2012’s The Daybreak Diner! The point, this food “reviewing” gig is purely a subjective thing, you know- what Jeff Eats thinks is sweet, you may think is bitter!

Anyway, The Daybreak Diner which is open Monday-Friday 6am-8pm, Saturday 6am-2pm, closed on Sunday is “probably” a real good joint for you “mom & pop” diner fans to know about!

*****c The Daybreak Diner, 3335 Curry Ford Road, Oralndo, Florida 32806, (407) 898-8338.

The Daybreak Diner…”mom & pop” diner located in Orlando.

I’ll bet you a buck, that without ever setting foot in the door, you guys know exactly what The Daybreak Diner looks like…let’s just say “formicasville” tables/booths. You can check menu/prices at www.daybreakdiner.org.

You regular Jeff Eats’ readers know, that “mom & pop” diners have a special place in my heart. Personally, I’d rather eat breakfast/lunch in a neighborhood diner, than in a bagel joint, fast food restaurant, chain operation. You guys gotta appreciate that most of us-folks of the 50’s-60’s were raised on diners—anyway…

A week or so ago, I was up-in Orlando and came across the Daybreak Diner. All kinds of breakfast stuff, appetizers, salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, subs/wraps, meat/fish/chicken “meals”- desserts. A quick taste “test” netted Jeff Eats…western omelet with hashbrowns ($6.59), bacon cheeseburger and french fries ($8.50), chicken salad on white toast ($4.95)—everything was just right. Just so we are straight—Was The Daybreak Diner the best “diner” I’ve ever eaten in? Nope! But as “expected”…my party was served decent enough diner food by a super pleasant waitress…suffice it to say, The Daybreak Diner held-up its end of the bargain…the food, the decor, the vibe–just what the “recipe” called for.

So, you Orlandoians and non-locals now know about a mom & pop” diner where you can catch a decent enough breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The Daybreak Diner is open Monday-Friday 6am-8pm, Saturday 6am-2pm, closed on Sunday.
