For our purposes, Jeff Eats is gonna call Papa Giuseppe Restaurant & Pizzeria an “out of sight, out of mind joint.” The truth be told, I first told you guys about this dynamite “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joint on March 29, 2010 and hadn’t been back- until last night when Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats did dinner there! Why the long hiatus? You guys got me there?

Long story short, last night’s pizza, baked shells and veal parmigiana entree absolutely killed!

Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, I love joints like Papa Giuseppe- great food, big portions, reasonable prices, pleasant service, no drama, Coca Cola refills up the wazoo…

About a week or so ago…I found this real casual-resasonably priced “red sauce–mom & pop” Italian joint in a crap-strip center in Delray Beach. Trust me on this one…from the outside, it looks like a real dump, but inside it’s a really cool looking “pizza joint” with a handful of round tables and booths. Absolutely and I do mean ABSOLUTELY nothing fancy here, so feel free to where your favoirte shorts and tee shirt ensemble.

Anyway… the two guys who own Papa Giuseppe (Giuseppe-that figures and Tony) really know how to make some delicious stuff. The menu is loaded with appetizers, salads, soups, pastas, pizzas, subs, meat-seafood-chicken entrees. They have plenty of lunch specials and the “expected dinners”–soup or salad–garlic rolls–entree–pasta side.

A recent taste-test had me doing veal parmigiana ($16.95), chicken marsala ($13.95), red snapper marinara ($18.95), penne alla vodka ($13.95), chicken alla giuseppe ($15.95–grilled chicken, roasted peppers, broccoli, melted mozzarella cheese), large pizza ($11.95). Like I said before, the guys who own this joint know how to cook…I absolutely loved the food.

Just so we are 100% straight here, we are NOT talking upscale gourmet Italian food here…we are talking, neighborhood mom & pop–red sauce–pizza joint stuff. To be perfectly honest with you, I could eat stuff like this every night, along with God only knows how many Coke refills.

If you live or work in Papa Giuseppe’s neighborhood…try it. The joint is open Monday-Saturday 11am-11pm and Sunday 1pm-10pm.

From 1957 to 1962, The Everly brothers sold more than 35 million records and had 35 Billboard Hot 100 singles (including 26 in the top 40), and still to this day, carry the record for most billboard charting hits of any American duo. Their success at the time was only rivaled by Elvis. In January of 2016, brothers Zachary & Dylan Zmed and their partner Burleigh Drummond launched The Everly Brothers Experience. Since then, they have celebrated the pivotal sounds of The Everly Brothers music with enthusiastic crowds all across the US and overseas in iconic clubs, theaters, performing arts centers, casinos, ballrooms, and coliseums. Growing up with a father, (Adrian Zmed) as a traveling singer/dancer/actor (Grease 2, Bachelor Party, T.J. Just so you know, there are no White Castle restaurants in Florida. So- like me, you’re gonna have to make do with frozen White Castle sliders which you’ll have to heat-up at home!

You can check whitecastle.com for a list of retailers in Florida. That said- from what I can tell- for right now Walmart seems to be the best retailer price-wise around, getting $9.97 for a box of 16 cheeseburger sliders.

* White Castle Cheeseburgers.

There are no White Castle restaurants in the State of Florida.

Thus the only way to “get” White Castle sliders is to -1. Travel to a White Castle in another state, 2. Have someone in another state ship you sliders, 3. Have someone in another state personally bring sliders to you in Florida, 4. Buy “frozen” White Castle sliders at Florida joints like Publix or Sam’s Club.

To make a long story short, yesterday-right out of nowhere, Jeff Eats was craving White Castle Cheeseburger-sliders. Knowing that only #4 above would work-I drove over to Publix and bought “me” 2 boxes of 6-White Castle Cheeseburgers for $3.49 per box.

Just wanted you guys to know, that Jeff Eats -still got it…between 6:46pm and 7:09pm I downed 9 of the little suckers. Now nothing for nothing, when I was 25 years old, I could easily do 15 sliders if not more in 23 minutes…but hey (God be willing) I’m gonna be 65 next month-so let’s give credit where credit is due!

Finally, the frozen microwavable/or pan heated White Castle sliders came “close” to tasting like the real deal, but nothing and I mean nothing beats the hot-right-off-the-grill sliders that White Castle restaurants turn out.

Consider “this” story a public service announcement -if one day -you finding yourself craving White Castle SLIDERS.
