Do you guys know what scarily good means? Well, Granger’s Grille in Delray Beach is scarily good.

Real quick story…

Hole in the wall with scarily good American-Style food located at 215 Northeast 6th Avenue, Delray Beach after 23 years was forced to move- because the landlord sold the building it was in. A few months later (January, 2017) the “former” hole in the wall re-opened 3-times larger at 892 Southeast 5th Avenue, Delray Beach serving the same scarily good American-Style food!

All Jeff Eats can tell you guys, is that if you’re into absolutely dynamite burgers/ wings/ bbq ribs/ fried zucchini/ onion rings/ French fries/ tuna salad/ chili/ fried chicken/ onion soup/ meatloaf so-on and so forth, portions that could choke a horse, super reasonable prices and a staff that can’t do enough for you- Granger’s Grille is a must try for you!

***** Granger’s Bar & Grill, 215 NE 6th Avenue, Delray Beach Florida (561) 276-7881.

Granger’s is a 38 seat bar-grill located on Federal Highway. The joint has something like 10 seats at the bar and a handful of booths and tables…one waitress-one busgirl-3 in the kitchen and that’s the whole shooting match. By the way, the waitress and busgirl are also the bartenders. The bathrooms are out-houses in the parking lot.

Granger’s food is absolutely great. Appetizers, burgers, salads, main dishes everything is delicious. How that little kitchen bangs out so much delicious food is beyond me, but in the 30-40 times that I have eaten at Granger’s everything was right on the money.

I am telling you, that this little joint is a MUST for you. Wear tee shirt/shorts so you don’t look stupid. The joint is open Monday-Saturday for lunch and dinner. The prices are also dirt cheap and if you are there on a Saturday Night you have to try the brick of meatloaf that is one of this joint’s specialities.

From the outside, Granger’s looks like a D U M P. Try it, you will love it.

* Just A Courtesy Note From Jeff Eats…

Just read the below story on money.cnn.com.

Very Interesting…
———-
It’s not just you: Everything really is getting more expensive
by Nathaniel Meyersohn @CNNMoney
May 18, 2018: 4:20 PM ET

The era of easy money is over
You’re not imagining things: Prices are creeping up.
Americans want to buy more stuff, and businesses are rushing to meet demand.
Unemployment is below 4% for the first time in 17 years, wages are slowly inching up, and consumers are spending money on clothes, furniture, and cars. At the same time, elevated labor, transportation and commodity costs are pinching their profit margins.

Both consumers and producers are feeling the squeeze from a healthy US economy. After years of low inflation, prices rose 1.9% in March from a year ago, according to the Federal Reserve’s favored inflation measuring stick.
Consumer prices were up 2.1% in April from a year ago, while suppliers paid 2.6% more.
Auto loans are getting more expensive because the Federal Reserve is gradually raising interest rates. The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage has moved to a seven-year high above 4.6%, according to Freddie Mac.
Dozens of companies in recent weeks have said they already hiked prices or plan to in the coming months to combat inflation.

Deere (DE) said on Friday that it would raise prices for its equipment because of higher material and freight costs.
McDonald’s (MCD) and Chipotle (CMG) have raised burger and burrito prices. Amazon (AMZN) is increasing Prime memberships by 20%. Netflix made monthly subscription prices 10% higher late last year.
Tyson Foods (TSN) is planning to make Ball Park hot dogs more expensive, while Stanley Black & Decker (SWH) will hike the prices of their industrial tools.
“We’re in business to make money, and in order to do that, we have to achieve price increases to offset some of that inflation,” Stanley Black & Decker’s CEO said last month.
Oil prices crossed $70 a barrel for the first time in more than three years. Americans are experiencing it at the pump: A gallon of gas is $2.91 — 24% higher than a year ago.
Related: What Trump’s Iran decision means for oil and gas prices
Higher oil prices will also eat into companies’ margins, which could lead them to pass off the costs to consumers. Paint, chemical, consumer products and packaged food companies all depend on crude oil to produce and package their goods. Airlines, trucking, and railroad firms need fuel for transportation.
Oil is American Airlines’ (AAL) second largest expense, making air travel costlier for the company. That will trickle down to customers: “I would expect you would see higher fares,” American’s CEO said last month.

Freight costs are climbing. There aren’t enough truck drivers right now to haul all the products manufacturers are churning out around the country. That has sent shipping costs soaring.
“Any company whose product ends up on a truck is going to feel it big time,” said Peter Boockvar, chief investment officer at Bleakley Advisory Group. “If anyone is going to be affected by rising freight costs, it’s going to be Amazon. Raising Prime is a way of offsetting that.”
Steel and aluminum prices are also going up, a concern for consumers. Campbell Soup (CPB) said on Friday that it expected double-digit increases in the two.

Trucker shortage could mean more expensive goods
Related: Campbell Soup CEO abruptly steps down
“A lot of that driven — or all of it driven by the impact of anticipated tariffs,” Campbell’s chief financial officer told analysts.
In the past, Campbell could charge consumers more, but intense competition between Amazon, Walmart (WMT), Kroger (KR) and other top grocers and retailers could soften the blow to Americans’ wallets.
Kroger said in March that it sacrificed lower margins to keep vegetable and meat price tags down, while Walmart reported Wednesday that cheaper prices dented profit.
Household care manufacturers such as Procter & Gamble (PG) and Kimberly-Clark (KMB) have struggled to retain their pricing power against the pressure from retailers. P&G’s prices fell 2% last quarter from the year prior, while Kimberly Clark’s dropped 1%.

Was just by- Yamato Road & 441 in Boca Raton. Saw a gigantic tractor-trailer “unloading” a ton of cars- all with New York license plates!

To save you “car owners” the time-effort of writing Jeff Eats…

***** Gary Woo Express, 9874 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33434, (561) 483-8889.

Got an absolutely terrific Chinese-takeout joint for you…Gary Woo Express in Boca Raton.

Just so you know, Jeff Eats originally “reviewed” this joint on August 19, 2009…suffice it to say, I loved its food back in 2009. Anyway, about 8 months ago new owners took over and to their credit, the food they are “banging-out” is even better than the original stuff. Trust me on this one, Gary Woo Express is right up there with the best Chinese restaurants that Jeff Eats has tried down here in South Florida.

When you check menu/prices at www.garywooexpress.com- in addition to loads of Chinese stuff you will find a huge Japanese menu. For the record, Jeff Eats, didn’t try any of the Japanese items, but if the Japanese food is as good as the Chinese stuff was—Gary Woo Express will be a joint where you can get both-delicious Chinese and Japanese takeout. Just so you know, Gary Woo Express has a couple of tables inside and a handful outside—but this joint is basically a takeout.

Applying Jeff Eats’ 1950’s Brooklyn Jewish Taste Test…sampled items included— won ton soup, tomato egg drop soup, egg rolls, pan fried pork dumplings, bbq ribs, general tso’s chicken, sweet & sour pork, pepper steak, shrimp in lobster sauce, chicken lo mein, roast pork fried rice. The result…Gary Woo Express is one of the best Chinese-takeoout joints that Jeff Eats has tried down here in South Florida. No kidding around, every item “tried” was delicious. To be perfectly honest with you, Jeff Eats’ original plan was to put the “dishes” in some sort of pecking order- but they were all dynamite–so I’ didn’t bother. For you wise-guys out there, No!–Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats didn’t eat “all” that food all by ourselves in one sitting…The fact of the matter, the taste test was conducted in 2-parts…some of the food was picked-up on a Thursday night and some was picked up on Saturday night—so there!

If I got one bitch here, I found the prices a drop- on the high side. No big deal–no second job needed…but the prices were definitely higher than the local competition.

Before I run…if you decide to try Gary Woo Express–when you get to the joint, you’ll find a “menu-rack” outside the front door. The takeout menus in the rack–have coupons and you can use them “right away”— Now that I’m thinking, the coupon that I used saved me 10% off my entire order. The point of all this yapping—use the coupons to off-set the higher-prices I detected.

Gary Woo Express was a “huge” find.

I am telling you, this joint is right up there with best of breed.

Gary Woo Express is open Monday-Friday 11am-10pm and Saturday-Sunday 2pm-10pm.

Jeff Eats has eaten in handful a of Culver’s- and I gotta tell you guys, this joint’s frozen custard, burgers, fries are absolute dynamite!

Jeff Eats is kinda thinking that some of you guys may not be all that-familiar with Culver’s, so…Culver Franchising System, Inc., doing business as Culver’s, is a privately owned and operated fast casual restaurant chain featuring frozen custard and hamburgers that operates primarily in the Midwestern United States. The first Culver’s opened in 1984 in Sauk City, Wisconsin. As of March 28, 2018, the chain had 655 restaurants across the United States with 49 currently in the State of Florida!
