Shorty’s is a South Florida bbq-chain…Its original location on South Dixie Highway has been around since 1951…Shorty’s website is www.shortysbbq.com …check the site for locations/menu/pricing.

Shorty’s Bar-B-Q is a terrific-casual restaurant… the menu is loaded with delicious appetizers, sides and top-notch pork/beef/chicken bbq…big portions at really reasonable prices. In the South Dixie joint, “you” sit at long tables next to total strangers…at the other 6 locations, Shorty’s gives “you” your own table or booth…that’s called progress.

Over the years, I must have eaten in the Dixie Highway location at least 10 times. Most recently, I have been eating in Shorty’s Deerfield Beach store which opened about 1 year ago. Same delicious food…same portions…same prices…booth and table seating…By the way, the Deerfield Beach joint (if I have read all of the locations’ menus correctly) is the only Shorty’s that has bbq beef ribs…I have to tell you, that those beef ribs are not just good, but are fantastic…why Shorty’s doesn’t have them in its other stores is beyond me.

Like I said before, Shorty’s is a casual joint…be prepared to get really messy in this joint, because the bbq sauce is all over the place…Shorty’s has plenty of paper towels…

Got an absolutely killer American-Style joint for you guys to checkout, Warren- American/ Whiskey/ Kitchen in Delray Beach.

Way-back on June 11th, 2021 I told you guys that I had been hearing terrific things about Warren which had literally just opened in Delray Beach and that I planned on giving Warren a shot in the very near future- Long story short, last Saturday night (7/3/21)- Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and two other couples ate dinner at Warren and I gotta tell you guys that Warren didn’t disappoint with its food, decor and service absolutely killing it!

Save me some-time and checkout Jeff Eats’ 6/11/21- story (down- below) for background color…

Right out of the gate, Warren’s mind blowing main dining room’s walls are lined-with something like 1,000 bottles filled with different whiskey, bourbon and scotch brands- its open kitchen allows diners to see “their” food prepared, a separate indoor bar-room’s windows permits- patrons to counter dine/drink on an outdoor patio which also has table seating and is set-up to accommodate live music acts and other entertainment!

On the food front, based on our waiter’s recommendation our party of 6 shared a whole bunch of “dishes”- all of which were delicious…

Crispy Calamari
Caesar Salad
Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes
Gloria’s (KFC) Korean Fried Chicken
Warren’s Damn Good Burger
Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich
Lobster Seafood Bolognese
Roasted Heirloom 1/2 Roasted Chicken
Chocolate Fudge Layer Cake

If you insist on a pecking order, Jeff Eats would rate Gloria’s (KFC) Korean Fried Chicken, the Warren Damn Good Burger, Lobster Seafood Bolognese and the Chocolate Fudge Layer Cake as the definite home-run stand-outs! Now you guys do know, what I like you may hate and vice versa…for the record, Mrs. Jeff Eats raved about the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, but then again, the name of this blog site is Jeff Eats and not Mrs. Jeff Eats- am I right or am I right!

Let me wrap Warren’s up by saying that this joint is an absolute must try.

Hearing absolutely terrific things about Warren, 15084 Lyons Road, Delray Beach, Florida 33446, (561) 455-4177 which opened about a week ago in Delray Beach.

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have reservations for later this month.

Hearing that the American-Style joint’s food kills, that it has 2 indoor liquor bars that-literally serve everything imaginable, an outdoor patio that in the coming months will feature all types of musical entertainment, a well trained and professional staff, an everyday 3-6pm by the clock happy hour and a decor that is as cool and hip as can be!

As I mentioned a couple of seconds ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have reservations later this month- so be on the look -out for a Warren update…

Got a real short tale to tell you guys, yesterday while shopping with Mrs. Jeff Eats at Costco Wholesale, 17800 Congress Ave, Boca Raton, FL 33487, (561) 981-50 she came across the “below” package ($8.49) of Schwartz Brothers Bakery, Organic Everything Bagel Chips, 15 oz and threw it into “our” shopping cart despite my screaming and I quote “Are you f- – – – -g nuts, they are organic.”

Anyway, earlier this morning I schmeared a bunch of the chips with some Philadelphia Whipped Original Cream Cheese and the combination was absolute dynamite!

A American businessman had just arrived to the Dublin airport as he was in town for an important meeting. As he was walking through the airport, he stumbled across a stall. Where an Irishman was selling Irish souvenirs. Amongst the various things for sale. There was a small skull mounted on a piece of polished wood with a plaque saying “ The skull of St. Patrick “.

The businessman immediately ask the Irishman, is this for real ? Pointing at the skull.

Aye! Lad, to be sure to be sure. And I have the letter of authenticity to prove it.

The American was so impressed he bought the the souvenir immediately.

A few weeks later the same businessman was again in Dublin for another meeting and again whilst walking through the airport he came across the same stall of Irish souvenirs and the same Irish salesman. As the businessman was looking at the various souvenirs,he came across a larger skull mounted on a piece of polished wood and a plaque saying “ The skull of St. Patrick”.

The businessman in a rather distraught voice said to the salesman, excuse me? I purchased a smaller skull similar to this a few weeks ago with a letter of authenticity that it was the skull of St. Patrick.

The Irishman laughed and said,

No frills decor, indoor table/booth/counter seating- handful of outdoor tables/hi-tops, reasonably priced menu loaded with all-day breakfast stuff/ salads/ sandwiches/ burgers/ wraps/ entrees/desserts, beer/wine- open 7 days a week 8am-3pm.

Simple tale to tell, last week Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and two other couples ate dinner at Patrizia’s and the joint’s food and service killed! Indoor table and booth seating/ outdoor table seating/full indoor liquor bar, open kitchen, private party room for 50, reasonably priced full-boat menu of appetizers/ salads/ pastas/ entrees/ wood fired pizzas/ desserts, happy hour, live DJ music, open Monday-Thursday 4pm-10pm/ Friday-Saturday 4pm-11pm/ Sunday noon-9pm.

Just so you guys know, if your car’s GPS goes-nuts on you, Patrizia’s of N.Y.C. in addition to Deerfield Beach has joints in New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Aruba and Fort Lauderdale (3300 NE 32nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308,(954-777-6880).

Got a real good Italian joint for you guys to checkout, Campi Italian in Delray Beach.

Real simple tale to tell, last night, Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats “discovered” Campi Italian (which recently opened) in Delray Beach and the joint’s food and service blew us away! Inside table/booth seating/ outdoor patio table seating, eat-at full liquor bar, reasonably priced appetizers/salads/pastas/entrees/desserts menu.

Just between you guys and me, Campi Italain is owned/operated by the same guy who owns/operates the iconic 40 year old Campagnola restaurant in New York City. The best way to describe Campi Italian, swanky looking white table cloth decor, hip super competent wait/management team, delicious food and a vibe that makes you feel as if you’re eating in an Italian grandma’s kitchen! Sounds- confusing? Go eat there and just maybe- you’ll “see” what I am talking about! By the way, the joint’s desserts are off the chart dynamite!
