“Saw me open and count my rings.” That’s the answer Willie Tyler’s little buddy, Lester, gives when asked how old he is. Willie began to see Ventriloquists like Paul Winchell, on TV .He started performing in Detroit, Michigan at the age of ten. While still in grade school he took a correspondence Ventriloquist course from a Popular Mechanics magazine Ad. Between school and delivering newspapers, Willie would find time to perform in variety shows and talent contests. This is where he developed his craft. After four years in the U.S. Air Force Willie returned to Detroit and a few years later signed with the Motown Record Corporation. For the next eight years he and Lester toured with all the Motown greats Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Little Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and The Four Tops, just a few of the up and coming musical artists back in the day. Lester says he was a member of the Group- The Four Tops when they were called THE FOUR TOPS AND A STICK! Their TV credits are impressive. They include appearances on the Tonight Show (NBC) ABC Weekend Specials, “Pacific Blue” (USA Network) “In The House.” (NBC) The Jimmy Kimmel Show (ABC)” and their very successful appearance on The Late Show Starring David Letterman.(CBS) They have also been seen in numerous TV commercials: McDonalds and Maxwell House Coffee to name a few. Lester is a humorous little fellow and he sings pretty good too! Although he was born in the woods and worked his way out. Once you have seen him in action you will never forget this little “chip off the old block!

Costco Kills Beloved Food Court Item And People Are Doggone Furious

HuffPost
Ed Mazza
July 10th, 2018

Costco just unveiled a new menu for its food court and one change isn’t going over well on social media.

The retailer still offers its famous $1.50 deal for a hot dog and a fountain soda, but the Polish dog combo ― also with a soda, and for the same price ― has been banished.

The change is part of a food court makeover that includes the addition of a burger, an acai bowl and a meatless al pastor salad that even the company’s chief executive doesn’t seem too enthusiastic about.

“This new plant-based protein salad, I know that excites you,” Craig Jelinek told shareholders earlier this year, according to the Seattle Times. “But it is healthy. And, uh, actually, it tastes pretty good, if you like those kind of things. I tried it once.”

But it’s the exile of the Polish sausage that has put the company in the doghouse with some customers. While it’s still available to buy in bulk and make at home, the faithful are decrying the decision to ditch the dog from the food court. Some have posted complaints on the company’s Facebook page ― even on posts about cars and bottled water ― while others have taken to Twitter, in some cases using the #SaveThePolishDog hashtag:

Formed in 1986 in South Florida by singer Frank Iovino to carry on the tradition of the harmony vocal groups of the 1950s and 1960s, the Five Boroughs consisted of several transplanted New Yorkers, many of whom were longtime veterans of the doo wop circuit. The first official group lineup included Iovino, Charlie Notabartolo (formerly of the Casual-Aires), Bruce Goldie (the Dreamers), Dave Strum (the Excellents), and Geno Radicello (the Bowery Boys). This unit recorded an EP for Telemedia Records in 1986, notable for bringing synthesizers and drum machines into the doo wop equation, then followed up with two a cappella tracks, “Sunday Kind of Love” and “For Your Precious Love/For Your Love,” for Avenue D Records in 1987, and a third, a cover of the Cleftones’ “See You Next Year,” in 1988.

The group was signed to Classic Artists Records in 1990, and quickly issued two singles, “Apart” and a version of the Flamingos’ “A Kiss from Your Lips,” before releasing a full-length album on the label, Count Every Star, in 1991. The Five Boroughs’ second album, Heart’s Desire, was issued by Starlight Records in 2000. The group’s most recent lineup has grown to seven members, with Steve Ward, Johnny Sorrentino, and Jimmy DellaRosa joining original members Iovino, Strum, Goldie, and Notabartolo. A popular live act, the group performs with its own band, the Five Boroughs Band, with Vic Giardino on guitar, Tim Myer on bass, Joe Costadura on drums, Earl Catron on sax, and Wayne Muscarella on keyboards. A brief overview of their recorded work, Doo Wop Under the Palms, was released by Collectables in 2005.
