Got a real good “mom & pop” diner for you guys, Short Stacks in Wellington.
Real simple concept working here- table/booth seating, open 7 days a week 7am-2pm for breakfast/lunch The joint’s menu (shortstacks.net) is loaded with breakfast stuff, burgers, sandwiches, salads, so forth and so on!
Yesterday, Jeff Eats and three buddies did breakfast and Short Stack’s food, service and prices were right on the money!
Just a heads-up for you guys -when a joint is named Short Stacks it kinda makes sense to give its pancakes a shot! Trust Jeff Eats on this one, dynamite!

This column first appeared on 6/7/18. You guys and Jeff Eats both know that there are more Beatles’ tribute bands than there are Chins in a Chinese phonebook! That said, The WannaBeatles break the expected-mold and I am telling you that these guys are an absolute must see act…The bet here is that their Saturday-11/10/18 date at the Mizner Park Cultural Center is gonna be a SRO affair- so if you wanna see one of the most entertaining Beatles’ tribute bands currently working America’s club/casino/festival circuit – it’s time to make your move on the ticket front!

John has been exciting audiences world-wide for years, as an entertainer, singer and percussionist. He has been joined onstage during his shows by Paul Shaffer (“The Late Show with David Letterman”), The Checkmates, former World Heavyweight Champion “Smokin’ Joe” Frazier, Italian Pop Star Andrea Mingardi and members of the Wayne Newton and Marilyn McCoo bands (of “The Fifth Dimension”).

John has recently completed a month-long residency in the venerated “Superstar Theatre” at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, home to such icons as Frank Sinatra, Don Rickles, Debbie Reynolds and more. He has written and directed variety segments for Costa Cruise Lines, and has produced or co-produced his four most recent CD’s. He has collaborated with award-winning playwright Phyllis Barash, and was a contributing songwriter to a musical produced by Lou Paciocco, producer of the long-running hit revue, “La Cage”.

Got an absolutely dynamite Chinese/Vietnamese joint for you guys to checkout- The Bol located in the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek in Coconut Creek.
Last night Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son jeff Eats “discovered” The Bol and after applying Jeff Eats’- Brooklyn Jewish American Chinese Food Taste Test Circa 1957- I gotta tell you guys- that this joint is turning out some of the most delicious Chinese food that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have had during our 27 year South Florida residency! As for The Bol’s Vietnamese dishes, no expert here- but like its Chinese stuff- absolutely delicious!
Simple concept working here- booth/table/hi-top/counter seating, open kitchen, almost reasonably priced (hey!- the joint is in a casino and I’m kinda thinking that something like 70% of the people that eat at The Bol- use “points” to pay for their food- thus the “non-local-neighborhood prices) menu of Chinese and Vietnamese dishes, super pleasant service, open Sunday-Thursday 11:30am-1am/Friday & Saturday 11:30am-3am.
Trust Jeff Eats on this one, The Bol is an absolute homerun! Forget that it doesn’t have Early Bird Specials and Combo Plates and all kinds of Dinner Deals- the few extra bucks you’re gonna spend (that’s assuming you don’t use “points”) to eat there won’t kill you- or require you to get a second job…and I’m telling you- that you will absolutely love the food!
