Trust Jeff Eats when I tell you, Pizza Time is a terrific mom & pop red sauce Italian joint! If you live, play, work anywhere near Pizza Time- do yourself a gigantic favor and give the joint a shot! By the way, I picked Pizza Time’s chicken parm just to get the discussion going- I’ve been eating there for years and can’t recall even one time when its food wasn’t absolute dynamite!

For our purposes- we’re gonna call this tale a Public Service Announcement…

Jeff Eats and Mrs. jeff Eats have been eating at Pizza Time- in Boca Raton for something like 9 years- last night we shared an absolutely delicious large sausage/pepperoni pizza and some other dynamite stuff and Mrs. Jeff Eats “mentioned” that I should remind you guys as to how good this joint’s food is! So here you guys go!

Trust Jeff Eats on this one, Pizza Time in Boca Raton is an absolute must try joint!

***** Pizza Time, 1001 Southwest 2nd Avenue, Boca Raton, Florida 33428, (561) 391-9240.

Real simple story to tell you guys…

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats got some family (two cousins on Mrs. Jeff Eats’ side of the family) visiting from New York. Now, I’m not counting anybody’s money but- they must have some cash, because they are staying 5 nights in a huge suite at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton (which ain’t exactly a chopped liver “situation”) during “Christmas Week” down here in Sunny South Florida…

Anyway, last night “we” got together and Jeff Eats knowing I/he was going to be picking up the check- took them to Pizza Time which is one of my favorite-reasonably priced “mom and pop” red sauce Italian joints (which by the way is 3 minutes from the Boca Raton Resort and Club) for dinner!

Not much more to tell you guys, other than Jeff Eats has been eating at Pizza Time since 2008, the joint makes outrageously delicious food and it’s probably no more expensive than your favorite “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joint! For those of you who maybe wondering- large cheese pizza, veal parmigiana, chicken parmigiana, veal marsala and meatballs & spaghetti- and like I said before, outrageously delicious food- and Jeff Eats didn’t have to “consult”- an ATM Machine to pay the bill!

If you haven’t eaten in Pizza Time in Boca Raton…GO! You will really-really enjoy this joint!

Pizza Time is open, Monday-Saturday 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM, Sun 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

Do me a favor and read the writeup (June 30, 2008) that I did on Pizza Time (Coral Springs). Go ahead, I’ll wait…

Rather than rehashing the details…suffice it to say, that the guy who originally owned the Pizza Time in Coral Springs sold the joint and has now “resurfaced” in Boca Raton (in what was formely Sal’s Italian Restaurant) in a new Pizza Time.

This “newest” Pizza Time is terrific. It is as good as the original Coral Springs’ joint. Great pizza, pastas, meat/seafood/chicken entrees.

Pizza Time is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

If you live in Coral Springs you probably know all-about Pizza Time…the joint is or should be a landmark.

Rather than beating around the bush, Pizza Time is one of the best “mom and pop” Southern Italian Red Sauce joints in all of South Florida. There is nothing fancy whatsoever about Pizza Time…terrific pizza, pastas, fish-seafood, chicken and veal-meat entrees. Good prices.

This joint is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. While you are waiting to get in, checkout the takeout business that Pizza Time does. Pizza Time’s website is at www.pizzatimeinc.com.

By the way, in Parkland there is a joint called Pizza Time Caffe, 6620 Parkside Drive, Parkland Florida (954) 345-8665. Rather than going into lengthy detail (because I have forgotten the whole story), this joint was in the past somehow connected/related to the original Pizza Time Italian Restaurant, but isn’t anymore. Anyway…I just wanted to let you know, that this Pizza Time Caffe isn’t half-bad. As a matter of fact it was pretty good the 2 times that I tried it. So you now have two joints for pizza etc., in the Coral Springs/Parkland area to choose from…the Pizza Time Caffe website is at www.pizzatimecaffe.com.

Peter Noone is a multi-talented entertainer, who has been delighting audiences nearly all his life. He was born in Manchester, England, where his career began as a child star in British soap operas and several popular television series.

At the age of fifteen, Peter achieved international fame as “Herman”, lead singer of the legendary pop band Herman’s Hermits. His classic hits include: “I’m Into Something Good”, “Mrs. Brown, you’ve Got A Lovely Daughter”, “I’m Henry VIII, I Am”, “Silhouettes”, “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat”, “Wonderful World”, “There’s A Kind of Hush”, “A Must To Avoid”, “Listen People”, “No Milk Today” and “The End of the World”. Ultimately, Herman’s Hermits sold over fifty-two million recordings. In all, fourteen singles and seven albums went gold.

As “Herman”, the photogenic Noone graced the cover of nearly every international publication including Time Magazine. He performed on hundreds of television shows and appeared with such luminaries as Ed Sullivan, Jackie Gleason, Dean Martin and Danny Kaye. He was cast as the engaging “Duke of Cheshire” in ABC’s musical version of The Canterville Ghost and portrayed the title role in Hallmark Hall of Fame’s Pinocchio. He also starred in three highly successful feature films for M-G-M: Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter, Hold On! and When The Boys Meet The Girls.

With characteristic zeal, Peter took on leading roles in full-scale theatrical productions in the UK and the US. In the eighties, Peter starred on Broadway in the New York Shakespeare Festival’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance. He won rave reviews for his superb portrayal of the dashing, young hero, “Frederic”. Peter’s acting career flourished with guest-starring roles in prime-time television series such as: Married With Children, My Two Dads, Dave’s World, Easy Street, Too Close For Comfort, and Laverne and Shirley. In a memorable episode of Quantum Leap, he shed his “nice guy” image to portray “Dwayne”, a scheming promoter with murderous
intentions.

The 1990s found Peter embarking on a four-year stint as the winsome host of VH1’s My Generation, the highest-ever-rated half hour retrospective of pop/rock music. More recently, he was featured in the recurring role of “Paddington” on the CBS daytime drama, As The World Turns. He began the millennium with his successful entry into cyberspace and the New York Daily News dubbed him “The King of the Sixties on the Internet” due to the overwhelming popularity of his websites: peternoone.com and hermanshermits.com.

Accompanied by his band, Herman’s Hermits, Noone currently performs over 200 concerts a year. He consistently plays to sold-out venues and his admirers span the generations. Today’s teen girls scream just as passionately as their mothers did back in 1965, prompting VH1 to select Noone as their viewer’s choice for the “Sexiest Artist of the Year”. There is no doubt that Peter Noone’s extraordinary talent, disarming wit, handsome features and compelling stage presence will continue to delight fans of all ages, for a long, long time to come.

***** Dragon Gourmet Buffet, 1091 South University Drive, Plantation, Florida 33324, (954) 423-8088.

The “name” may throw you off…the words “Chinese”–“Japanese”–“Asian”–“Fusion” are nowhere to be found. So there is no confusion, Dragon Gourmet is a Chinese-Japanese-Asian-Fusion buffet-joint in Plantation.

This one is a KEEPER. Clean…good food…huge and I do mean HUGE selection of stuff (didn’t count– its website says that there are 200 different items)…very reasonable prices, figure max 16 bucks a head (it all depends when you get there). You can check menu/prices/photos at www.dragongourmetbuffet.com.

Over the past few months, I’ve done 1-dinner and 2-lunches…the food was consistently good. On all of the “outings”…Dragon was busy and the food was constantly turned-over, which is IMPORTANT when you are talking buffet. Just think of what freshly made fried chicken tastes like after its sat in a heated steamed “chafing” dish for 45 minutes or so (but that”s a Golden Corral story for a whole-nother day).

To be perfectly honest with you, Jeff Eats is a big-fan of buffets. Can’t remember, the last one that I didn’t enjoy. May need a psychiatrist to figure this one out, but just looking at mounds and mounds of food just-sitting-there-for-the-taking, gets me going.

If you are a fan of Chinese-Japanese buffets, I think that you will really like this one. Special shout-out to the General Tso’s chicken, pan fried dumplings, egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken.

Dragon is open Monday-Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-11pm, Sunday 11am-9:30pm.

Miller’s Ale House (Boca Raton)
Posted on March 24th, 2016 · American Boca Raton

***** Miller’s Ale House, 1200 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33431, (561) 988-9142.

Jeff Eats is gonna take a shot here and “think” that you guys know what Miller’s Ale House is! If not- sports bar chain that currently has 51 joints in Florida, 1 in Georgia, 2 in Illinois, 1 in Maryland, 1 in Massachusetts, 2 in Nevada, 3 in New Jersey, 6 in New York, 1 in Ohio, 4 in Pennsylvania. You can check millersalehouse.com for locations/menu/prices/operating hours/info.

Way-back on July 12, 2008 Jeff Eats told you-about the Miller’s Ale House in Jupiter, Florida. In 2008 I described the joint’s food as being okay and perfectly priced! That tale is reprinted down-below.

If you guys can keep a secret, since that 7/12/2008 tale printed (until this past Monday) Jeff Eats hadn’t been back “to” a Miller’s Ale House. No particular reason, just hadn’t been back!

Long story short, this past Monday- Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Son Jeff Eats and Daughter Jeff Eats ate dinner at the Miller’s Ale House on Yamato Road in Boca Raton- and I gotta tell you, we had an absolutely great-time. Rather than bother you guys telling you -that this location has a separate bar area/booth/table seating, more flat screen tvs than you can count, a covered out door patio with its own bar, a menu loaded with appetizers- burgers- salads-wings- entrees- desserts- beers- booze…let me tell you that the fried calamari, chicken Caesar salad, chicken nachos, breaded boneless garlic wings, grilled teriyaki wings, bbq baby back ribs, bacon cheeseburger, onion rings, French fries that we ordered were all delicious.

Look! I don’t know about your family, but getting the members of Jeff Eats’ immediate family to agree on virtually anything- is a monumental task. With that in mind, last night-all four of us agreed that the food killed, that the prices were super reasonable and that the service was as competent/pleasant as could be!

As I mentioned a few seconds ago, Jeff Eats hadn’t been to a Miller’s Ale House in something like 7 1/2 years! All I can tell you guys- the joint was absolute dynamite! If the other 71 Miller’s are like the Yamato Road outpost- you now know about a sports bar “chain” that really has its act together- and is an absolute must try!

Miller’s Ale House is open Sunday 11am-midnight, Monday-Saturday 11am-2am.

***** Miller’s Jupiter Ale House, 126 Center Street, Jupiter, Florida 33458 (561) 746-7620

Miller’s owns and operates a “ton” and I do mean a “ton” of sports-bars/ale houses in South Florida. Check millersalehouse.com for locations/menu/prices/hours.

Miller’s joints all take on a local name…in Boca Raton, the joint is the Boca Ale House…in Jupiter the joint is the Jupiter Ale House…in Coral Springs the joint is the Coral Springs Ale House…so on and so forth.

Over the years, I have eaten in a number of Miller’s South Florida locations…my most recent meal being in the Jupiter Ale House 3 weeks ago. All of the Ale Houses look alike…big bar area, tvs galore, small game room, wood booths. The menus are the same…tons of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and entrees…something for everybody. Just so you know, the food is okay- not great…(operative word) OKAY… The prices are cheap…that’s the game…like a 20 oz. bone-in porterhouse steak with french fries for something like 10 bucks.

I have to tell you, that every so often, I really enjoy a grizzly-steak covered in grilled onions and french fries drenched in ketchup that costs $9.99…Sort of reminds me of Tad’s Broiled Steaks (you- New Yorkers know what I am talking about) circa 1960.

The Ale Houses are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Like I said, okay food priced perfectly.

By the way…some of you may not know, but Tad’s Broiled Steaks currently has a location at 152 West 34th Street, New York, New York 10001 (212) 630-0318…those were the days.
