***** Pizza Bar, 1627 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida 33139, (305) 672-6880.
For all you guys out there looking for off the chart delicious New York Style Pizza (thin crispy crust, sweet sauce, loads of gooey cheese, oil drip when the slice is pointed down) you gotta checkout- Pizza Bar in Miami Beach. Real simple concept at work there- order/pickup at the counter, humongous slices/ subs/ salads/ wings/ stromboli/ other stuff, counter seating, handful of tables inside/ outside, open Monday-Wednesday 11am-2am, Thursday 11am-3:59am. Menu/prices/info at pizzabar.com.
Long story short, last night- Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats tried this joint and it blew us away. No bs- Pizza Bar’s pizza easily matched up against some of the best New York slices we’ve “enjoyed” over the past 60+ years in the 5- boroughs!
Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats also “did” a Greek salad and like the pizza it- was right on the money!
By the way, Pizza Bar’s wings and subs looked dynamite- so Jeff Eats is kinda thinking that Pizza Bar isn’t just a one trick pony- with the pizza! The next time Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats are at Pizza Bar, we’ll do some wings and subs, so we’ll know for sure!
Subs or no subs, wings or no wings- based on its pizza alone- Pizza Bar is an absolute must try!
* Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
While being interviewed for a job, the personnel manager said to the Maguire brothers:
“We’re going to give you a written examination. Ten questions. Whoever gets most right we’ll hire.”
Papers were produced and the boys set to work answering the general knowledge questions. When the time was up the personnel manager collected and marked the papers.
“Well,” said he, “you’ve both got nine out often, but I’m giving Mick the job.”
“Why’s that?” asked Pat.
“Well,” said the manager, “you both got the same question wrong but he had ‘I don’t know this’ and you had ‘Neither do I!'”

***** Pink Buddha Chinese Restaurant, 5949 South University Drive, Davie, Florida 33328, (954) 680-3388.
Pink Buddha Chinese Restaurant…”mom & pop” joint loacted in Davie, Florida.
Brooklyn-Jewish Taste Test circa 1957—wonton soup, egg rolls, roast pork fried rice, bbq ribs, fried dumplings, sweet & sour pork, mu shu pork, general tso’s chicken—let me make this one short and simple, everything was delicious. Especially enjoyed the ribs and general tso’s chicken.
Pink Buddha has been around for something like 15 years and as “expected” is located in a bombed-out strip shopping center.
You can check menu/prices at www.pinkbuddhachinese.com.
Pink Buddha is right up there with the best “mom & pop” Chinese joints that I’ve tried down here in sunny South Florida.
Pink Buddha is open Monday-Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday-Sunday 11am-10:30pm.

The MYSTICS have dazzled fans for decades with their rock and roll classics, playing to captivate audiences and thundering applause from coast to coast.
The MYSTICS legacy continues in 2019 as they celebrate their 60th anniversary of their 1959 mega seller hit HUSHABYE which reigned on the charts for six months and their 62nd year in the music and entertainment industry. Today 2 Original members & Doo Wop Music Hall of Famers – George Galfo & Phil Cracolici look back with pride & a new day has begun in keeping those harmonies coming. Joining Phil & George are Rocky Marsicano (formerly of Lenny Cocco & The Chimes, Jay Siegal & The Tokens, & Manhattan Skyline), Ralph Varrone (formerly of N.Y. premiere show group “Risky Business”)
The MYSTICS have withstood the test of time & continue to bring to their music to their fans… to be part of the audience is an experience within itself … a trip down memory lane for all ages! Let us go back in time to 1959. The key words here are doo-wop and harmony – light, simple & ever so beautiful. It was the late 50’s & the words were heard on the airwaves and fans sung along “Hushabye, hushabye – oh my darling don’t you cry, Guardian angel from above – take care of the one I love.”
The sound of “The MYSTICS” still harbor the soft breezes of harmony perfection & the audience’s embrace & applause continue to shine a glow and as “The MYSTICS” continue in their quest of keeping the sounds of harmony doo-wop alive in our hearts! The MYSTICS recreate their many appearances on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand and sing their own hit records like “Hushabye”, “The White Cliffs of Dover” , “Sunday Kind of Love” and “Don’t Take the Stars.”
The MYSTICS “HUSHABYE” reigned 6-month on the charts was featured in the movies Mr. Rock and Roll–The Alan Freed Story and “Stand By Me”! Younger fans also came to know and love The Mystics’ recording of “Over the Rainbow” from its prominent use in the hit TV show The Sopranos.
To see the MYSTICS on stage is POSSIBLE, to forget the MYSTICS is IMPOSSIBLE!

Fronted by the amazing vocals and piano of Michael DelGuidice and backed by one of the most dynamic and seasoned bands in the industry (and members of Bill Joel’s own band), this high-energy and interactive concert is packed with hit after chart-topping hit by Billy Joel as well as astonishing renditions of songs by Paul McCartney, Elton John, The Beatles, Journey and Chicago.
“They had a hard time convincing me it wasn’t me. It’s uncanny.”
– BILLY JOEL in the New York Times
Mike DelGuidice, one of Long Island’s most celebrated performers. After 18 years of playing Billy Joel’s music in his band Big Shot, Mike DelGuidice now lives a dream come true. In October of 2013, Billy Joel heard Mike sing, and personally hired Mike to join his band. Mike’s encyclopedic knowledge of the Billy Joel catalog made him a perfect fit as background vocalist and guitarist for BILLY JOEL. And now you can see Mike on tour with Billy Joel all over the US & world in major arenas and stadiums including every month at the iconic Madison Square Garden.
Mike is a brilliant vocalist and composer and a master of several instruments including bass guitar, guitar, piano and drums.
He is the author of two albums “My Street” and “Miller Place” and several of his new songs are currently under favored consideration for film soundtracks, including Mike’s song, “Ordinary Guy” which is the theme song for the Keven James sitcom, “Kevin Can Wait”.
Mike now juggles his busy schedule with his band Big Shot along with weekly shows around the USA and abroad with Billy Joel.
