Trust me on this one, this joint’s stuff is dynamite!

***** Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria, 14466 Military Trail, Delray Beach, Florida 33484, 561) 638-6442.

This is a real simple tale to tell…

If you want some of the most delicious New York Style pizza, hot/cold subs, stromboli- down here in sunny South Florida…get yourself over to Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria in Delray Beach.

Just so you know, the joint is owned by the same folks that own- The Boys Farmers Market in Delray Beach (see review 10/17/14) …Bambini’s is basically a takeout, but there is limited indoor/outdoor seating.

This past Sunday afternoon, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats had a bunch of friends over to our home in Boca Raton…to feed the hordes of people- we picked up from Bambini’s 2- 20″ cheese pizzas ($14.99 each), 1- 20″ meatball pizza ($16.99), 1-20″ white pizza ($17.99), 3- 10″ chicken parmesan subs ($7.99 each), 3- 10″ eggplant parmesan subs ($7.99 each), 4- 10″ sausage/peppers/onions subs ($7.99 each), 3- pepperoni Stromboli ($9.99 each) and I am telling you EVERYTHING was delicious.

No fooling here, Bambini’s stuff literally blew Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and our friends away.

For what it’s worth-Jeff Eats had been hearing about this joint for months- and this past Sunday was the day “I” decided to give it a shot. The pizza was as close to perfect as can be… thin crispy crust, sweet sauce- the subs’ fillings were dynamite/the semolina seeded bread was terrific, the prices- tons of food for cheap money!

No crapping you guys, I couldn’t have picked a better joint for this particular home-event!

Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria is an absolute must try.

To make sure we are straight on the facts… basically a takeout, limited menu (stromboli, subs, wraps, salads, pizzas)- and if you are wondering, the joint “does pizza by the slice.”

Bambini’s website-bambinisgardenpizza.com- is kinda useless, no menu info provided.

Bambini’s Garden Pizzeria is open Monday-Thursday & Saturday 10:30am-9pm, Sunday 10:30am-7pm.

If you are looking for a real good New York Kosher Style Deli (and who isn’t?) that does breakfast, lunch and dinner- you gotta checkout Ruven’s in Boynton Beach.

Jeff Eats singled-out the joint’s pastrami on rye for special mention- that said, trust me when I tell you- it’s all good at Ruven’s! Of course some-things are better than other things, but Jeff Eats is kinda thinking that you’ll really-enjoy whatever Ruven’s serves up!

Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, when you walk into Ruven’s- its look/its smell/its vibe is gonna have you thinking your’re in a NY Kosher/Kosher Style Deli somewhere in the 5- boroughs!- and you won’t have to hold down a second job to be able to pay the check!

Ruven’s is open 7 days a week 8am-8:30pm.

Back on February 20, 2011 Jeff Eats told you guys about Ruven’s a New York Kosher Style Deli that had just opened for business in the San Marco Shopping Center in Delray Beach. To make a long story short– Ruven’s opened in a spot where two bagel/delis had previously failed. I guess, Ruven’s owner, Steve Ratinetz was betting on real good food and “three times the charm” to make Ruven’s a winner…

Anyway…

Here it is 3-years later and Ruven’s is “sort-a” still around. Now follow me, a few months ago, Ratinetz moved Ruven’s…3 maybe- 4 bays down-into a store formerly occupied by Lenny’s New York Grille.

Anyway…

No doubt in Jeff Eats’ mind…the ‘new” Ruven’s is now in a much better spot–that being right next door to Publix. Same food and service-with the “new” Ruven’s featuring a really cool “lower NYC east-side” circa 1940-1950 decor. Having eaten in Lenny’s numerous times, I can tell you-that Ratinetz did a great job in combining his own decorative ideas with Lenny’s decor remnants.

Just wanted to re-introduce you guys to an old-favorite of mine.

Now…Does Ruven’s qualify under the “three times the charm” rule?

Bingo!— Home Run!

If you are looking for a terrific-New York Kosher Style Deli—your wish has been answered. Say hello, to Ruven’s which opened last Wednesday in Delray Beach. For right now, the joint is open 7 days a week from 8am-3pm—look for “dinner” to be added sometime in late March.

Just some background info… “this” Ruven’s is owned by Steve Ratinetz who in the mid 1990′s-2003 owned/operated Ruven’s in Plainview, New York—which was an absolutely terrific kosher deli. My January 25, 2011 Ruven’s of Long Island writeup- has more “history” if you are a history-buff.

You know and I know, that South Florida has more bagel delis than you can shake a stick at…just for the record, Ruven’s is not and I repeat the word NOT, a bagel deli. For sure, it has the requisite “500″ types of bagels, bialys and onion boards—that said, this joint is all about pastrami- corned beef- brisket- turkey- stuffed derma- potato pancakes- blintzes, chopped liver-stuffed cabbage-fried kreplach-matzo ball soup—that rival the best stuff served in NYC, Chicago…or for that matter, anywhere that you formerly called home.

If there is one thing that Jeff Eats knows—it’s good deli.

This afternoon, in no particular order– I did a “taste test” of pastrami, corned beef, brisket, turkey off the bone, matzo ball soup, cabbage soup, stuffed derma, potato pancakes, chopped liver. fried kreplach…absolutely delicious.

Based on Jeff Eats’ “maiden outing”—I’m putting Ruven’s right up there with South Florida’s best New York Kosher Style Delis. Throw-in huge portions at reasonable prices…and I can’t see Ruven’s not quickly developing an enormous following.

You now know about a terrific deli—this one is a keeper!

An Air Canada flight was en route from Toronto to London. Halfway there, the plane suffererd catastrophic failure in all engines and had to ditch in the ocean. An announcement! Ladies and Gentlemen! The pilot has landed us safely in the water! Please don you life vests and proceed out to the wings of the plane. Everyone who can swim, proceed to the right wing, and all that can’t swim, go to the left wing. We expect rescue boats to arrive shortly!

Several hours passed with no response to crew’s repeated distress calls. Meanwhile the plane was slowing sinking. When the water had reached chest high on the passengers standing on the wings, the pilot got on the bullhorn and made an announcement.

Ladies and gentlemen! It does not appear that rescuers will reach us before the plane sinks. Therefore at this time, I’d like to ask the passengers standing on the right wing to start swimming!

To the passengers standing on the left wing. Thank you for flying Air Canada.

KISS ALIVE THE TRIBUTE @ Lake Park Black Box
So many of us all grew up with the music of KISS. KISS posters on our bedroom walls, fantasizing, playing air guitar and drums with KISS records blasting and parents demanding “Turn it down”. What initially started off as a tribute to only the music, (no makeup, no costumes, no bells or whistles) has, after 12 yrs evolved into the SE USA premier KISS Tribute. The compliment we cherish the most is when someone comes up and says something like…..”Man, I saw KISS back in 1975-78, and you guys brought me back to when I saw them as a teenager. Thank you for the time machine show”. Believe me, WE have just as much (if not MORE) fun than the people that come to see us.

By the way, before the “show’- Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats are gonna do dinner at Camilli’s Pizza in Lake Park.

Trust Jeff Eats when I tell you, REAL GOOD!

***** Camilli’s Pizza, 927 Park Avenue, Lake Park, Florida 33403, (561) 844-3424.

Here’s an early birthday present for you guys…Camilli’s Pizza in Lake Park. The joint makes one of the best thin crusted-sweet sauce pizzas going. Absolutely nothing fancy here, order/pickup at counter…Camilli’s also has salads, subs and pastas—but the game here is PIZZA. From what I understand, the joint has been around for something like 40 years and has an enormous-multi generational-fan base. Just for the record, in addition to the pizza I “did” a meatball sub and chicken parm sub—let’s call them real-good, but not even close to being in the same league as the pizza!

Like all terrific hole-in-the-wall pizza joints, its open 7 days a week for lunch/ dinner/ takeout.

Got a real good diner for you guys to checkout- Breakfast Station Restaurant in Melbourne.

Real simple tale to tell, the other day- Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Breakfast Station Restaurant and I gotta tell you- if your’e into diners- you will absolutely love this joint. Delicious food, super pleasant service, reasonable prices, no drama! Open 7 days a week from 7am-3pm.

Just so you guys know- there are 14 Breakfast Station Restaurants in Florida. Not trying to make any enemies here- but based on Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats’ “outing” in-my-humble-opinion this joint’s food/vibe/prices/decor/service were better than what chains like IHOP, First Watch, Perkins Bakery & Restaurant serve-up. Purely a subjective call, but the Melbourne- Breakfast Station Restaurant had the “mom & pop” neighborhood diner “vibe” that we really enjoy!- the other chains don’t have it!

Let me wrap Breakfast Station Restaurant up by telling you guys that you can check breakfaststationcentral.com for locations/menu/prices/info.
