Kennesaw Cold Pressed Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit Juice

***** Kennesaw Cold Pressed Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit Juice.

If you’re into fresh squeezed unpasteurized grapefruit juice- then you gotta try Kennesaw Cold Pressed Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit Juice..

Trust Jeff Eats on this one, this grapefruit juice is dynamite.

Maybe it’s a psychological thing- but my recent “discovery” of Kennesaw’s Cold Pressed Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit Juice- has Jeff Eats totally convinced that “cold pressed” tastes much better than Kennesaw’s Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit Juice does- which Jeff Eats had-faithfully been drinking every morning for God only knows how many years! Like I said, maybe it’s a psychological thing…

Last week, Jeff Eats “discovered” this $5.99- 64 oz absolute must try grand-slam delicious grapefruit juice at Joseph’s Classic Market, 6000 Glades Road, Boca Raton,Florida 33431,(561) 347-2314.

You guys can check josephsclassicmarket.com for other Joseph’s locations. Also check kennesawjuice.com for other retail locations.

Like I said before, maybe it’s a psychological thing…that said, checkout what Life Bistro at lifebistroatl.com has to say on the matter…

What is the Difference Between Cold Press Juicing and Centrifugal Juicing?

While juicing is not a new concept, in recent years it has gained much popularity, so much so that the juice bar business is booming. People are constantly searching for an effective way to improve their well-being, and with the many vitamins and benefits that juices provide, juicing has proven to be quite the popular choice.
Now whether you are new to the juicing world or have been around for quite some time, you may have once wondered what is cold press juicing? What is centrifugal juicing? And what is the difference between those two?
I know we have. And so we’ve done the research to explain to you the difference between cold press juicing and centrifugal juicing, and which one offers more benefits.
Cold Press Juicing
Juicing in itself is the act of crushing and grinding fruits and vegetables to extract juice from them. Most of us have juiced before when we made fresh orange juice or lemonade. Some harder fruits and vegetables such as celery require a juicer.
Cold press juicing is presumably the most commonly described type of juicing and is considered one of the best ways due to the lack of heat used in the process. Cold press juicing uses a method that does not involve high heat and therefore preserves the nutrients and vitamins of the ingredients. Cold press juicers use a hydraulic press and take a longer time to extract the juice than traditional juicers. The process is more time and labor-intensive, but it does produce vitamin and nutrient-filled juice without causing oxidization to the fruits.
Centrifugal Juicing
Centrifugal juicing is what you would refer to as the traditional juicing method. This method utilizes high spinning blades and a strainer which separates the juice from the pulp of the fruit and vegetables. This method not only creates a lot of noise, similar to a blender but also creates a lot of heat that causes oxidization to the ingredients. This high heat also results in the loss of nutrients and vitamins, therefore reducing the benefits that juicing can provide.
Centrifugal juicers are oftentimes the juices easily found in grocery stores, they are cheaper in cost, and do not require the same amount of time to produce. When shopping for a juicer it is important to be able to distinguish between cold press juicers and regular centrifugal juicers, as those are the more commonly available ones.
Benefits of Cold Pressed Juice
Similarly, to eating fruits and vegetables, juicing them provides you with the nutrients and vitamins that they contain, only in liquid form. Since cold-pressed juices contain more of those nutrients, due to the lack of heat and oxidization, they are more beneficial.
Some potential benefits of juice are that it is easy to digest, as it does not contain the fiber from the pulp. Some fiber is insoluble and therefore causes a strain on our digestive system when eating fruit. Drinking juice instead, is much easier for our body to digest and the nutrients are more easily absorbed. Soluble fiber, however, is still present in most juices and provides you with the benefits that fiber commonly does.
Cold-pressed juices improve your overall health by providing you with the nutrients that your body requires to operate at optimal levels. Eating the number of fruits and vegetables necessary to provide your organs with the vitamins it requires can prove to be quite difficult. Not only does it require you to eat fruits and vegetables all day long but also it requires high quantities of those foods to be consumed. Juicing gets rid of the less advantageous parts of the fruit, while preserving its nutritional value, and allows you to create different combinations tailored to your needs. Rather than eating one fruit or vegetable, you can create a blend of multiple healthy fruits and enjoy the benefits they provide all in one glass.
If those benefits are not enough to convince you to give cold-pressed juices a shot, maybe the amazing taste will. Cold press juice not only preserves the nutrients of the fruits but also their fresh taste. The only potential drawback to cold-pressed juices are their short shelf-life, but that is intended to preserve the freshness of them and the great taste. Without the added heat or preservatives that most grocery store-bought juices have, cold-pressed juices taste refreshingly delicious. You can also customize it to the flavor that best suits you, and the taste of vegetables can easily be hidden by the potent flavors of many fruits.
Benefits of Centrifugal Juicer
While not as beneficial as cold-pressed juices, centrifugal juicers also carry some advantages to them. Regardless of the addition of heat and oxygen, consuming any form of fresh fruit juice is beneficial to your health. So while you may not be ingesting the high amounts of vitamins and nutrients that were extracted from the fruit, you are still caring for your health by consuming some.
Centrifugal juicer’s juices tend to have a longer shelf life and they do not take as long to make, making them a quick and easy process for beginners. The juicers are also easier to clean up, and centrifugal juices are more easily available in most stores and restaurants. It is convenient for those that do not want to spend the great length of time cold-press juicing requires.
Which Type of Juice is Right for Me?
Whether you choose cold-pressed juices or centrifugal juices is entirely a personal decision Taking into consideration what we have researched, cold-pressed juices are able to provide you with more nutritional benefits, while centrifugal juices are a more time-efficient option. If you are someone that struggles to fit the time to juice into your already busy day, then centrifugal juicing might be the right option for you. While if you are someone that values the quality of the product more than the time saved, then col pressed juices would be our recommendation.

***** Granger’s Bar & Grill, 215 NE 6th Avenue, Delray Beach Florida (561) 276-7881.

Granger’s is a 38 seat bar-grill located on Federal Highway. The joint has something like 10 seats at the bar and a handful of booths and tables…one waitress-one busgirl-3 in the kitchen and that’s the whole shooting match. By the way, the waitress and busgirl are also the bartenders. The bathrooms are out-houses in the parking lot.

Granger’s food is absolutely great. Appetizers, burgers, salads, main dishes everything is delicious. How that little kitchen bangs out so much delicious food is beyond me, but in the 30-40 times that I have eaten at Granger’s everything was right on the money.

I am telling you, that this little joint is a MUST for you. Wear tee shirt/shorts so you don’t look stupid. The joint is open Monday-Saturday for lunch and dinner. The prices are also dirt cheap and if you are there on a Saturday Night you have to try the brick of meatloaf that is one of this joint’s specialities.

From the outside, Granger’s looks like a D U M P. Try it, you will love it.

***** Basilico’s Original Hand-Tossed Pizza, 9140 Forest Hill Boulevard, Wellington, Florida 33411, (561) 333-4949.

Last night, Jeff Eats took-out from red sauce Italian joint… Basilico’s Original Hand-Tossed Pizza in Wellington. and I gotta tell you, this restaurant makes some really delicious stuff.

Real simple concept, order at the counter/takeout…or the food is delivered to something like 6 inside booths/handful of outside tables. By the way, the restaurant is located in a very quaint cool looking “New England” style strip-center…which also has a Chinese joint, a Dunkin’ Donuts, an ice cream store, a custom cake- making store, a liquor store–you won’t think- you’re in Florida! Real interesting, in addition to ice cream and yogurt-the ice cream store sells fresh orange juice quarts/gallons-candy by the pound, and has a whole area for fresh flowers…the Chinese joint which is basically a takeout has 4 large 6- seat booths-for those who want to eat-in. Like I said 1 second ago, the strip center has a real different feel to it!

Anyway…

Jeff Eats “got to” Basilico’s around 6:30pm last night and there was something like 8 guys behind the counter making pizzas etc. and 2 young ladies at the register. In the 25 minutes or so that I waited for my order, every booth inside was taken and I watched numerous pickups and phone orders being taken…I didn’t notice anyone eating outside.

Basilico’s menu is loaded with appetizers, salads, pizzas, pastas, strombolis, calzones, hot/cold subs, entrees. You can check its menu/prices at basilicospizza.com.

Ordered items included large 16″ pizza ($9.99), Chicken parmesan sub ($7.99), sausage & peppers stromboli ($6.79), eggplant parmesan entrée (pasta side/garlic breadsticks- $10.59) and like I said 3 seconds ago, the stuff was really delicious.

Look!

Jeff Eats has been to his fair share of red sauce Italian joints down here in south Florida and- this Basilico’s joint is a huge winner. The food was really-solid, the prices CHEAP (I believe I’m suppose to say inexpensive or very reasonable)-trust me, Basilico’s gives you a ton of food for cheap-money-and the food isn’t crap quality!

Let me wrap this up for you, if Basilico’s was by my house (which unfortunately it isn’t) Jeff Eats would definitely be a very steady customer.

Basilico’s Original Hand-Tossed Pizza is open 7 days a week.

Hey Jeff!

Three months ago my husband and I retired and moved from Plainview, New York to Hunter’s Run Country Club in Boynton Beach.
A couple of weeks ago, I came across jeffeats.com and love the site. You sure have a load of recommendations and I like the fact that you’re smart enough to know that food reviewing is a totally subjective call.
Being retired we are really enjoy eating out almost every night. With that in mind, what’s your best call on a CASUAL GREEK joint within a reasonable driving distance of Hunter’s Run?
Looking forward to following jeffeats.com for years to come.

Chris’ Taverna is a GREEK RESTAURANT…maybe 20 formica tables inside, 20 outside. You can order at/pickup at the counter…or you can be fancy and have a waitress/waiter take care of you. Menu/prices/loads of photos at www.christaverna.com. This is strictly a shorts/tee shirt ensemble kinda-joint.

Now…and I really mean this, outrageously delicious food. I have to rank the Greek salad ($8.95), gyro entree ($11.95-2 sides), souvlaki entree ($11.95-2 sides), grilled baby lamb chops entree ($20.95, 5 chops-2 sides) right up there with the best that I’ve had in a Greek joint.

Really, that simple.
