Bobby Brooks Wilson is the son of famed soul singer, Jackie Wilson, but he didn’t always know that. Bobby grew up loving music and only found out who his biological father was after so many people told him that he looked and sounded just like him! After serving in the US Navy, Bobby started his musical career in Hawaii where he joined The Love Notes. Fans of his father were skeptical at first, but after hearing his beautiful voice they were sold. Bobby also discussed in his NAMM Oral History interview the influence Otis Redding had on him, and how having an opera singer as a vocal coach helped him further his vocal style. Bobby is still performing all over the world with original material and covers of his father’s iconic songs.
The other night, Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple ate dinner at a Southern Italian joint named- Lynora’s in Boca Raton.
Just so you know, the restaurant opened something like 5 months ago, has indoor booth and table seating/ outdoor patio table seating/ full indoor liquor bar with requisite tvs, and is the latest addition to- the Lynora’s Restaurants chain which currently has 2 West Palm Beach/ 1 Jupiter/ 1 Palm Beach Gardens locations. The restaurant’s reasonably priced- lunch/ dinner menu is loaded with appetizers/ pizzas/ pastas/ hot & cold subs/ entrees/ daily specials/ desserts.
To sum Lynora’s up, imagine “voluntarily” eating at a restaurant run by Moe Howard, Curly Howard, Shemp Howard and Larry Fine which serves food that will bring back fond memories of your public school cafeteria lunches!
Now you know and I know that “this” food reviewing gig is purely a subjective call- you know, what I like, you may hate and vice versa!
All I can tell you, just off the top of my head, I can name at least 10 Southern Italian restaurants in Boca Raton that run circles around Lynora’s food and service!
Now, since the above tale is just Jeff Eats’ opinion, you can check (if you are so inclined)- Lynora’s menu/ prices/ info at lynoras.com.
Lynora’s is open:
Monday – Thursday: 11 am – 10 pm
Friday – Saturday: 11 am – 10:30 pm
Sunday: 11 am – 10 pm

Stars of the 60s return to Fort Myers with an all-new line-up of hit-makers from the greatest era of rock and roll! The iconic Jay & the Americans are back by popular demand after 2 prior sold-out shows here. With a staggering 18 charted hits and five Top 10 records, few bands ever reached the heights of Jay and the Americans. “This Magic Moment”, “Only in America”, “Cara Mia”, “Come a Little Bit Closer”, “Some Enchanted Evening”, “Let’s Lock the Door”, “Walkin’ in the Rain” and more are on tap for an evening filled with hits and stories only they can tell – they are one of the few artists of the era that still boasts 3 original members.
Joining them will be Gary Lewis & the Playboys singing “This Diamond Ring”, “Count Me In”, “Save Your Heart For Me”, “Everybody Loves A Clown”, “She’s Just My Style”, “Sure Gonna Miss Her”, and many more. Gary was the only artist during the 60s to have his first 7 releases reach Billboard’s Top 10 and he still sounds just like his records!
Plus: Chris Montez, one of the few artists on the planet that can say the Beatles opened up for HIM. He’ll be doing all of his hits like “Let’s Dance”, “The More I See You” and “Call Me.”
Chris Ruggiero will make a special guest appearance following his rise to fame on PBS-TV, singing 60s favorites you know and love. Don’t miss this one-night-only reunion!
