Got a real good Italian joint for you guys to checkout, Heritage in Fort Lauderdale.

Simple tale to tell, yesterday afternoon Jeff Eats, Mrs Jeff Eats and 4 friends “discovered” Heritage and the joint’s food and service totally blew us away! Inside table/ booth/ bar seating, full liquor bar, open kitchen, reasonably priced menu of appetizers/ salads/ pastas/ pizzas/ paninis/ desserts.

Now you guys all know, or should know by now, that this food reviewing “gig” is purely a subjective call- you know, what I like, you may hate and vice versa! With this in mind, I am telling you guys that Heritage’s food is dynamite and that the joint is an absolute must try.

An Enchanted Evening with Barbra Starring Sharon Owens @ Boca Black Box

Actress/singer Sharon Owens transforms herself into Barbra Streisand performing in “The Best Of Barbra, The Tribute”.

Accompanied by a seven piece band, Owens will sing more than 20 Streisand hits, share anecdotes on the many achievements of Streisand as an actress, film director, concert attraction and singer on stage and take questions and requests from the audience.

The real Barbra Streisand, who started her 65 plus year career in show business in 1962, has been so well-known that scores of impressionists, such as Marilyn Michael and Jim Bailey, (along with hundreds of others) had long careers with an impression of Barbra Streisand being in the core of their performances. Owens, who is from Tampa, never envisioned her career to be a Barbra Streisand Tribute performer when she first studied to be an actress at the University of South Florida in the 1980s.

“I never even thought I would want to spend most of my life being a tribute artist as Barbra Streisand or anybody other than myself,” said Owens from her home in Southwest Florida.

“But I was told whenever I auditioned how much I looked and sounded like Barbra (Streisand) continually. So, I took the bait and tried out being Barbra. In 1992, I performed as Barbra in “Legends In Concert” as one of many tribute artists and I haven’t stopped being Barbra since.”

Owens has been a Barbra Streisand tribute artist for more than 30 years, but is still young enough to be Barbra Streisand’s daughter.

For you guys who maybe wondering, yes- Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in Delray Beach is owned by the same Pepe Family who in 1925 opened the now legendary Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in New Haven, Connecticut!

Inside table & booth seating/outside covered patio table seating, reasonably priced coal fired oven pizzas/ salads/ desserts/ beer/ wine/ Foxon Park sodas menu.

Let’s wrap-up Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana by saying, if you’re not into coal fired oven pizza-this joint is not going to work for you, the joint’s pizzas were real good! Like I said 3.7 seconds ago, the joint’s food absolutely killed!

Real easy tale to tell, yesterday Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Maria’s Cafe in Stuart and its food and service were right on the money! Inside booth, table, counter seating/ outdoor covered patio table seating, reasonably priced full boat- breakfast & lunch menu, open 7 days a week 7am-2pm.

Just between us, since 2006 (that’s when Jeffeats.com was born) I’ve been in more Florida “mom & pop” diners (not to mention bagel joints) than there are Chins in a Chinese phonebook! With that in mind, I’m telling you guys, that Maria’s Cafe definitely ranks right up there as one of the best ones! Look! I know when something tastes real good, is priced right and when my coffee cup is continuously re-filled without my having to ask the waiter/waitress!

Simple tale to tell, last night- Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and Daughter Jeff Eats “discovered” Danny’s Pizza Kitchen and I gotta tell you guys that the our ordered- salads, fried calamari, garlic rolls and pizza were right on the money!

Like I said a few seconds ago, Danny’s Pizza Kitchen is a real good pizza joint-that you guys should definitely checkout. Trust me on this one, you won’t be disappointed!

Got a real good super casual seafood joint for you guys, Chowder Heads Restaurant in Jupiter.

Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple recently did dinner- and I gotta tell you, other than being a bit on the pricey-side, not one person at our table, including Jeff Eats bitched about anything!

Chowder Heads bills itself as serving “Authentic New England Seafood”…If you can keep a secret, Jeff Eats’ knowledge as to what constitutes “Authentic New England Seafood” was “acquired and honed” by my having having spent 5 Summers 1957-1961 at Camp Annisquam (and as a result- having taken 5 tours of the Birds Eye Frozen Food Factory) in Gloucester, Massachusetts!

Trust Jeff Eats on this one, Chowder Heads Restaurant which is open Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 11:30am-9pm, closed on Monday- serves up real good stuff!
