* Individually Wrapped Chocolate Slices!
BOURBON a Japan based company- is selling Individually Wrapped Chocolate Slices online (bourbon.co.jp/english/index.html).
Jeff Eats did some checking- no American supermarket chain is carrying BOURBON’s product or any similar product.
Between you guys and Jeff Eats, I’m kinda thinking that this is an absolutely ingenious product- and that sooner rather than later, you’re gonna see Individually Wrapped Chocolate Slices selling all over the United States! Not sure “which company” gets there first, but I guarantee you guys-that in 2016 you’re gonna see a whole bunch of brands in your local supermarket/food store!
***** Crazy Wok, 5764 Wiles Road, Coral Springs, Florida 33067, (954) 255-1866.
This morning Jeff Eats saw a gigantic-tractor trailer “unloading” a whole bunch of cars “with” New York and New Jersey license plates at the intersection of Sample Road & University Drive in Coral Springs.
To- save those “car owners” the time and trouble of writing Jeff Eats…
Crazy Wok (Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale))

***** Crazy Wok, 5764 Wiles Road, Coral Springs, Florida 33067, (954) 255-1866.
Crazy Wok is a Chinese takeout joint. There are 2- locations, 1-in Coral Springs, 1-in Fort Lauderdale (2392 North Federal Highway)- this “story” is about the Coral Springs’ location.
Real simple story…
Last Saturday night, Jeff Eats was over-by my friend Peter’s house watching football…we ordered some Chinese stuff from Crazy Wok. We picked-up the food and Peter caught the bill…hey! it’s his house…you eat by me, I pickup the bill!
To make a long story short, we did wonton soup, egg rolls, boneless spare ribs, pan fried dumplings, General Tsao’s chicken, moo shu beef, roast pork fried rice…and I gotta tell you, the food was right on the money. Now you know and Jeff Eats knows that this food-reviewing gig is purely a subjective game. What I like you might hate and vice versa. You also do know, that what I might find sweet, you may find bitter-so forth and so on. That’s why, I very rarely kill time, telling you-what something tastes like! Suffice it to say, (as they say in internet land— imho) Crazy Wok turned out some really delicious “American” Chinese food. For those of you-looking for “real” or shall I say “authentic” Chinese food-like West Lake Fish in Vinegar Sauce (yeah-I know it sounds absolutely amazing!) you can cross Crazy Wok off-your list.
Finally…good free food, good company and a win by my University of Arizona Wildcats…made for a very pleasant evening.
One last thought, some of you guys may be wondering…If Jeff Eats went to Ithaca College and Brooklyn Law School and Mrs. Jeff Eats went to Brooklyn College…then how does the U of A work its way into the conversation? Easy, Son Jeff Eats went to U of A and Daughter Jeff Eats went to University of Connecticut- thus the RELATIONSHIPS…very expensive RELATIONSHIPS but RELATIONSHIPS nonetheless! Now that I look back, why these two scholars couldn’t- go to school in-state, is beyond Jeff Eats’ comprehension- we’ll save that discussion for another day…
If you live or work in Crazy Wok’s neighborhood…you now know about a real-good Chinese takeout joint.
You can check menu/prices at crazywok.com. The site has a handful of discount coupons that you can print out.
Crazy Wok is open 7 days a week 10am-11pm.
***** Mamma Mia Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant 2, 538 Washington Avenue, Homestead, Florida 33030, (305) 248-3133.
You guys and Jeff Eats both know that “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joints are a dime-a-dozen down here in Sunny South Florida. Or as the late great Soupy Sales once opined, “Watch what you eat, or you’ll have more Chins than there are in a Chinese phonebook!
Long tale short…some of these “mom & pop” joints are lousy, some are just okay, some are good, some are very good and some are terrific!
Anyway, last night Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple ate at Mamma Mia Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant 2 (for the first time) and based on the joint’s cheese pizza, veal parmigiana, shrimp scampi, chicken scarpariello, meatballs and spaghetti, garlic rolls, meat lasagna, eggplant parmigiana, house salad, big portions, reasonable prices, pleasant service, cool/casual red & white checker board tablecloth decor- I’m gonna throw the joint a “terrific”…
Trust Jeff Eats on this one, Mamma Mia’s Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant 2 is running on all cylinders. If you live, work or play in Mamma Mia’s neighborhood- make it your business to give this joint a shot- you’ll love it!
You can check menu/prices at mammamiapizza2.com.
The joint is open Monday-Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 11am- 11pm, Sunday noon-10pm.
* Celebrate Chanukah at the Plaza del Mar.
Jeff Eats assures you, that when the Maccabees rebelled against Antiochus IV in 167-160 BC they never figured that in December, AD 2015 some guy named “Sarge” would be touring South Florida to SRO crowds- with a hilarious Comedy Show named Sarge: The Chanukah Chutzpah Tour.
The Plaza del Mar “night” sounds like a real nice evening for Jews and non-Jews alike! Hey! We’ve been playing along with your- Santa Claus & His Elves & His Reindeer-and eating Chinese food on Christmas Eve-Day for years!
Jeff Eats has seen Sarge a number of times and the guy kills! By the way, goldstar.com has discount tickets (for The Palm Beaches Theatre’s show and other venues), so if you want to see Sarge at “wholesale” prices- you now know what to do! (stereotype pun- intended)…I might also add, earlier in the evening- the Chabad is providing free food! (stereotype pun-intended)!
This article first appeared on August 6, 2015. Just wanted to tell you guys, that yesterday Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “ate” lunch at Larry, Curly Burgers & Moe (for the second time)- and this joint’s food- is absolutely off the chart! Look! Jeff Eats “eats” (pun intended) in a ton of joints- and every so often I come across a joint- that absolutely kills. Throw in the fact that Larry, Curly Burgers & Moe is the consummate hole-in-the-wall and “it” warrants another mention on Jeff Eats. Trust me on this one, you gotta try Larry, Curly Burgers & Moe, it’s amazing-good!

First things first…first- heard about Larry, Curly Burgers & Moe a couple of weeks ago- from my buddies at burgerbeast.com- they absolutely loved the joint!
Real simple story, absolute hole in the wall- order/pickup at the counter- small handful of seats. So!- don’t be planning no high-school graduation parties (unless they are real small ones) there- same goes for bar mitzvahs and weddings!
Jeff Eats down-below- has “listed” Larry, Curly Burgers & Moe’s menu…burgers, hot dogs, handful of salads, sandwiches, wings, desserts…
You can check menu/prices/info on your own at larrycurlyburgers.com.
Anyway,
Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently- “stopped” in for lunch and all I can tell you is that Larry, Curly Burgers & Moe’s stuff absolutely kills!! No bs-here, the fried chicken sandwich, bacon cheeseburger and rib eye-Philly cheesesteak, hand-cut fresh French fries were off the chart delicious.
Larry, Curly Burgers & Moe is an absolute homerun!
The joint is open Monday-Saturday 11am-7pm, closed Sunday.

Real simple tale to tell, Nelson’s Diner is a terrific “mom & pop” breakfast/lunch diner. I absolutely love eating-the joint’s cinnamon raisin French toast- surrounded by “everything” Elvis. Trust Jeff Eats on this one, if you’re into “mom & pop” diners, you will really enjoy Nelson’s. Jeff Eats has eaten a ton of Nelson’s- breakfasts and lunches and each and every time, right on the money!

Thank you very much!
Nelson’s Diner…”mom & pop”- 1950’s-1960’s décor- booth/table/counter seating diner. The joint is open Monday-Friday 6am-3pm, Saturday-Sunday 7am-2:30pm.
Jeff Eats recently did breakfast and really enjoyed the joint. Before I get into the breakfast, I’m thinking that Nelson (or whatever the owner’s name is) must really “love” Elvis Presley…pictures- posters all over the joint. Like I said 1-second ago…. Thank you very much! So if you aren’t into the King, anyway…
You can check Nelson’s menu/prices-at nelsonsdinerpompano.com. For you guys who like things handed to you, loads of breakfast stuff, appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, salads, lunch entrees.
Now, about that breakfast,
Jeff Eats was there on a Tuesday morning around 7:30am and the joint was jammed. Just an eyeball call, but I’m thinking that Nelson’s seats maybe 40…
Jeff Eats’ party of four…ordered- Belgian waffle with bacon ($5.99), country fried steak/2eggs/hash browns/toast ($7.99), biscuits and gravy ($3.99), French toast ($3.99), pancakes (3-$4.69), western omelette/hash browns/toast ($6.79)…and I gotta tell you, Nelson’s makes real good breakfast food. Nothing for nothing, I’ve eaten in my fair share of mom & pop diners and Nelson’s definitely holds its own against the best of them.
Let me wrap this up for you,
You guys know by now, that Jeff Eats is a huge fan of the mom & pop-neighborhood diner “concept”…I really enjoyed Nelson’s Diner. The food was right on the money, the prices were reasonable, the service was pleasant, the décor was “whatever”-and Jeff Eats left Nelson’s Diner knowing that America was built brick by brick by guys like Nelson -or whatever the owner’s name is. By the way, I know, a bit over-dramatic, but hey!- last Tuesday was Veterans Day.
Nelson’s Diner is a winner. If you live or work in Nelson’s neighborhood give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed!
