* A Tribute To The Jersey Boys And More- Featuring Michael D’Amore.
Literally 5 minutes ago, the Boca Black Box added A Tribute To the Jersey Boys And More- Featuring Michael D’Amore to its show lineup!
Trust Jeff Eats on this one, if you’re a fan of The Four Seasons, doo wop and 50s-60s Rock n Roll you gotta go see A Tribute To The Jersey Boys And More- Featuring Michael D’Amore! Jeff Eats & Mrs. Jeff Eats recently saw the 90 minute production and the 6 member band received 11 standing ovations and had the audience singing/dancing in their seats and the aisles all night!
Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, the band’s lead singer, Michael D’Amore has an absolutely huge Southeast & Southwest Florida following…Rather than try and “explain” D’Amore’s talent to you- do yourself a favor and check him out at michaeldamore.com and you’ll have some idea as to what I’m talking about!
There is absolutely no question in Jeff Eats’ mind that A Tribute To The Jersey Boys And More- Featuring Michael D’Amore is going to be a Standing Room Only situation- so if you wanna go, get your tickets as soon as is humanly possible (I know a bit over dramatic)…

New York born and New Jersey raised Michael D’Amore brings an authenticity and light heartedness to the stellar sounds of the 60’s. Being from N.J. and possessing a strong falsetto voice naturally resulted in a love of The Four Seasons songs. Michael was the featured performer at the honor ceremony for original Four Season member Tommy DeVito performing for the music industry’s elite as well as the cast of Jersey Boys.
Michael has been an opening act for groups such as The Stylistics, Tommy James, Gary US Bonds and Tony Orlando to name a few. Having opened for and performed with many iconic sixties artists, Michael has developed the Jersey Boys and More tribute show in collaboration with musical director Tim Goodman. This is a “Clap Along, Sing Along, Dance in Your Seat” kind of show. It is not only a walk down a musical memory lane, but a fun time with an exciting band featuring world class touring musicians that have played with Bobby Vinton, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lou Rawls and so many great artists.
This will be a fun filled evening of music covering not only The Four Seasons hits but the sounds of an entire era.
***** Jersey’s Wings & Raw Bar, 12592 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33027, (954) 450-2133.
If you guys were wondering where Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and six of our friends were when Villanova beat North Carolina at the buzzer-to win the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Championship- well wonder no more, Jersey’s Wings & Raw Bar in Pembroke Pines.
Real simple tale here, Jersey’s is a sports bar…separate full liquor bar, obligatory dark wood table//booth seating, tvs up the wazoo!
Like Jeff Eats said 2-seconds ago, we were there with three other couples and we ordered/shared way too much food and for that matter beer!
Of note, of the 8 people screaming and cheering not one of us-had any connection whatsoever to the either Villanova or North Carolina. Call Jeff Eats anal or something- 2 Brooklyn College, 1 Ithaca College, 1 University of Miami, 1 University of Connecticut, 1 University of Arizona, 1 almost graduate of Penn State…As for our kids, 1 University of Connecticut, 1 University of Arizona, 4 University of Central Florida, 1 Ohio State, 1 University of Pennsylvania, 1 Baruch College, 1 University of Texas, 1 Clemson, 3 Tulane University, 1 Cornell University, 2 University of Maryland, 1 Phoneix Truck Driving Insitute (just checking to see if you’re paying attention!-not that it couldn’t be, but…just checking)!
Anyway, Jersey’s food was real good, its service- as pleasant as could be, its prices super reasonable.
Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats really enjoyed Jersey’s Wings & Raw Bar which by the way is open Monday-Saturday 11:30am-midnight, Sunday noon-10pm.
You can check menu/prices/info at jerseyswings.com.
And finally, Jeff Eats “had” UCONN winning the whole thing, so unlike “food” Jeff Eats obviously knows- dick about men’s college basketball!
***** Le Vinois Bakery, 6322 North Powerline Road, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33309, (954) 771-9788.
You guys ever wonder why the Champs-Elysees is lined with large shade oak trees?
Jeff Eats is thinking that- the French don’t want the invading German troops to get over-heated!
Anyway,
Got an absolutely terrific French bakery for you guys, Le Vinois Bakery in Fort Lauderdale. The joint has the full-boat of breakfast items, breads, pastries, cakes, soups, quiches, salads, sandwiches, cookies, coffees. Order at the counter- handful of tables if you want to eat there!
Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently did an eat-in lunch/and takeout order and like I said a few seconds ago, Le Vinois’ stuff is absolute dynamite!
Now let’s be adults here and let bygones be bygones- you do remember Freedom Fries, sure you do! With that in mind, Jeff Eats absolutely loved Le Vinois Bakery and I’m kinda thinking that you should definitely give it a shot!
The joint is open Monday-Saturday 7am-4pm, closed on Sunday.

[with a 2 item min per person]
We can’t wait to have him back at The Boca Black Box! You better believe this is a show you do not want to miss! This manic, unique & hilarious comedian is rather difficult to describe… With his Cuban heritage and penchant for sporting mini-skirts, Salazar’s performance is a mixture of street-smart ethnic wisecracks, risqué humor, and pure comedy!

* Angel Salazar.
Got a real good one for you guys, national touring headliner comedian Angel Salazar is in for 2- nights (8pm), Saturday-April 8th & Sunday-April 9th at the Boca Black Box, 8221 Glades Rd #10, Boca Raton, Box Office: (561) 483-9036, Tickets: bocablackbox.com.
Trust Jeff Eats, Salazar’s “light blue” show is absolutely hilarious!
Just between you guys, Jeff Eats just picked up 4 discount tickets for Saturday night’s show at goldstar.com.
from goldstar.com
You probably know Angel Salazar from his role in the 1983 classic film Scarface as Chi-Chi, one of Tony Montana’s closest confidants; little did you know he got his start in the during the comedy boom of the 1980s, and he remains one of the most popular comics on the stand-up circuit today. Salazar describes his act as a hurricane a hilarity, and the pop culture icon certainly has the energy of a Category 5 storm. Using a combination of stand-up, improvisation, props and costumes, Salazar is an onstage whirlwind, bouncing his trademark catchphrase “sheck it out!” amid a flurry of hilarious jokes and pop culture references. You’ve seen him in movies, you’ve seen him on Last Comic Standing — now see him live and in person at the Boca Black Box. Read more
* Cucumber Orient Express.
Just what Jeff Eats needs -a cucumber bush so I can grow my own cucumbers.
It’s absolutely amazing what “crap” some people will try to sell to other people…even more amazing, some people actually buy the “crap”…as P.T. Barnum may or may not have said, “There is a sucker born every minute.”
* Delray Marketplace Music Fest- April, 2016.
For our purposes let’s call this one…ill conceived power-shopping center presents 4- terrific music “acts” for “free” during the month of April, 2016!
Trust Jeff Eats on this one, the tenant mix sucks, the parking really sucks, the 4- music acts are all terrific!
All you need to make this one work…is yourself and a folding chair!

THE ORIGINAL CHICAGO PIZZA (8″)

Manhattan and Chicago Pizzeria

Latest Review: 7/9/13
Manhattan and Chicago Pizzeria makes outrageously delicious Chicago deep dish pizza. The joint’s New York Style pizza and subs ain’t no slouches either.
Just so you know, Manhattan and Chicago Pizzeria is basically a “takeout” so don’t- be planning on throwing a wedding party, graduation party or bar mitzvah party there!

Don’t plan on eating at Manhattan and Chicago Pizzeria…for sure its got three tables outside, but that’s about it…
This “hole in the wall” pizza joint does—pizzas, subs. wings, wraps, salads, calzones and strombolis.
Jeff Eats is kinda thinking that you guys by now- have figured out-that…Manhattan and Chicago Pizzeria makes 2-kinds of pizza—namely, Chicago Deep Dish and New York Style. The reason I say this- is that the joint after-all is named Manhattan and Chicago Pizzeria. Now I could be wrong, but Jeff Eats’ money is on you guys!
A recent outing had me taking-out an 8″ “original” Chicago pizza ($13.99–ground beef & sausage/tomato sauce/mozzarella cheese) and a 12″ plain New York pizza ($8.99) and I gotta tell you that both were delicious. For our purposes- that Chicago pizza was amazing-delicious. Jeff Eats also did a meatball sub ($7.99) and a sausage & peppers sub ($7.99)- like the pizzas, delicious.
As I mentioned 4 1/2 seconds ago, Manhattan and Chicago Pizzeria is basically a take-out joint—so if you don’t live or work in the area, have someplace where you can eat its stuff- before it gets cold.
No fooling around here, Manhattan and Chicago Pizzeria is an absolutely dynamite takeout— with that Chicago pizza-alone being worth a car-trip.
Check Manhattan’s menu at www.mcrealpizza.com for menu/prices.
Manhattan and Chicago Pizzeria is open Monday-Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-midnight, Sunday 11am-9pm.
Finally, if any of you are wondering where Jeff Eats “ate” his food since he neither lives or works in the area…
What happens in Pinecrest stays in Pinecrest!
* New York Comedy Night presents Esther Ku.
Right up front, comedian Esther Ku isn’t for everyone!
That said, if you can handle seeing one of America’s funniest, raunchiest (and I do mean raunchy), wittiest comedians currently working the comedy club/event circuit- you go see Esther Ku! Trust Jeff Eats when I tell you, Ku is so off the chart, that she would- even have made the late great legendary comedian Annabelle Salzman (better known as Belle Barth) blush!
Like I just said, not for everyone, but I’m telling you this KU is something else!
The Skinny:

Call it a Ku-d’état: Esther Ku has gone from growing up the daughter of Christian missionaries to ruling the stand-up circuit as one of the raunchiest, wittiest comics working today. A finalist on the sixth season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Ku has an edgy, explicit style that is often compared to Sarah Silverman. But as she’s proven on MTV’s Girl Code and Wild ‘N Out — and on Howard Stern and Opie and Anthony — she has a sharp comedic sensibility that’s entirely her own. Experience it yourself when Ku headlines NY Comedy Night at Boca Black Box.
