Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have been fressing at Cafe Vico for over 20 years. No bs here- the joint’s food and service have always been right on the money! I singled out Cafe Vico’s chicken marsala for special attention, but trust me- in all the years of going there- I can’t recall a single dish that wasn’t real good! While I’m on the the subject of real good- these Vico Meatball Sliders (2-$12- that I had two nights ago) ain’t- no slouches either!

***** Cafe Vico, 1125 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33305, (954) 565-9681.

Cafe Vico is one of my favorite Southern Italian Restaurants in South Florida. Over the past 10 years or so, I have eaten in this joint something like 12-13 times. Do yourself a favor and check Cafe Vico’s website at www.cafevicorestaurant.com for menu/pricing/hours/photos. Although not exactly a tee shirt/shorts kind of a joint, I have been known to show up at Cafe Vico in that very costume and never felt out of place.

Cafe Vico is maybe a dollar or two more expensive than your favorite neighborhood Italian joint…the few bucks-more are well spent. The food is absolutely terrific as is the service. If you check the website, you will also find that Cafe Vico is a very attractive looking joint with a decor of a small Southern Italian Country Inn.

Cafe Vico’s menu features all of the standard favorites…mine being veal parmigiana. There are loads of pasta, fish-seafood, chicken and meat-veal dishes to please all tastes.

Cafe Vico is worth making a special trip for. Be smart and make a reservation, because it is an extremely popular restaurant and is always busy.

Cafe Vico is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

Try this one!!

“The Martin and Lewis Tribute” is a show in a class all its own. Never have two artists captured the very essence and chemistry of the celebrities they perform as have Tom Stevens and Tony Lewis. These two incredible performers have each had success on their own.

Having spent the last 27 years performing throughout Australia, Tony Lewis has created a name for himself as the quintessential Jerry Lewis tribute artist. His one man show has sold out countless venues and has earned him the respect as one of Australia’s best entertainers.

Since his first appearance at the Dean Martin Festival in 1998, Tom Stevens has earned his title as “The Best Dean Martin Tribute Artist”, even Dean’s daughter Deana said “I’ve never seen anybody look and sound more like my Daddy.” Having spent the last 11 years in Las Vegas, Tom has amazed audiences with his uncanny tributes to over 100 celebrities.

Together they are undeniably a one of a kind show that will make you feel as if Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis are still performing together today. Not only will this show bring back memories to those who remember the Martin and Lewis era but will also entertain a whole new generation of fans who will grow to respect the talents of Tom Stevens and Tony Lewis as two of the world’s best tribute artists.

Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars (Trader Joe’s- Boca Raton)

Posted on January 18th, 2018 · American Boca Raton Desserts Fast Food · No Comments »

Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars.

The other day- Jeff Eats spotted the above box- of Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars at Trader Joe’s, 855 South Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida 33432, (561) 338-5031- and figured that I’d found a big-time winner based on its $1.99 (for 5 bars/40 calories per bar) price but au contrarie- imagine if you can- an 8oz cup of coffee/cream/2 sugars mixed with a gallon of water, then freezing the whole shooting match- and you’ll have some idea as to what these Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars taste like!- and having Jeff Eats thinking that just maybe a Trader Joe’s buyer got paid- off to stock the chain’s stores with these Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars, but hey, what do I know?

Finally, the term “Bars” is kinda deceiving- because anyone over the age of 4 months knows that these Bars are really “Pops”- any way, if you don’t believe Jeff Eats’ call here, traderjoes.com for store locations!

Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars
April 13, 2017 in Category: What’s New.

In ancient Rome, crushed ice was blended with fresh fruit and spices. China’s Yuan dynasty and the American founding fathers enjoyed the cool, refreshing flavors of sorbet. Long before there was electric refrigeration (or freezing, for that matter), there were sweet frozen treats to be savored.

In the early years of the 20th century, a happy accident and the entrepreneurial spirit of an 11-year-old boy led to extensive enjoyment of frozen desserts on a stick, and by the mid-20th century, when household freezers became widespread, children across the country were in love with their portable frozen delights.

But frozen treats on sticks are not just for children, right? There are icy treats made with adults in mind, aren’t there? Of course there are.

In 2017, when we’re nearly 20% of the way through the 21st century, Trader Joe’s is thrilled to introduce Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars, the most delicious extension of modern American coffee culture we’ve tasted in a good, long time.

Crafted with an adult’s taste buds in mind, coffee takes center stage – cold brew coffee is the first ingredient, and the robust flavors of that coffee make a rich first impression. The coffee is blended with ingredients you’d find in the best ice cream – things like cream, milk, and sugar – and meticulously mixed so that you taste coffee, then cream, then a sweet-but-not-too-sweet finish. It’s like a well-crafted latte from your neighborhood coffee house. Frozen. On a stick.

Enjoy Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars as an afternoon snack or after-dinner dessert. Each Bar contains a mere 40 calories, so you can indulge without any real indulgence. We’re selling each 8.75 fluid ounce box of five Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars for $1.99, making them a treat for your wallet as well as your palate. You’ll find them in our freezers.

Salvatore Pizza, Pasta & Subs could be the Poster Child for the red sauce- mom & pop- Italian pizza joint industry!

Jeff Eats loves this joint with all my heart and soul!- (I know, a bit over-dramatic).

It’s just too bad that it’s such a schlep from my Boca Raton abode to Hialeah!

I singled-out Salvatore’s pizza to get the conversation started- but trust Jeff Eats when I tell you guys, it’s all good at this joint!

***** Salvatore Pizza, Pasta & Subs, 1550 West 84th Street, Hialeah, Florida 33027, (305) 821-7016.

Let’s call Salvatore Pizza “an out of sight, out of mind” mom & pop- red sauce- Italian joint…

First told you guys about Salvatore Pizza on November 10, 2014- hadn’t been back until last night’s “drama” dinner with Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats. Why such a long hiatus between visits?- Salvatore Pizza’s Hialeah location and Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton abode aren’t exactly “next door” to one another. Why the “drama”?- As I’m sure it’s the same with your family- That’s the $64,000 question!

Long story short, this joint’s food is off the chart delicious. You live, you work, you play in Salvatore Pizza’s neighborhood- you gotta give it a shot!

***** Salvatore Pizza, Pasta & Subs, 1550 West 84th Street, Hialeah, Florida 33027, (305) 821-7016.

Got a real good one for you…Salvatore Pizza, Pasta & Subs in Hialeah.

First things first,

You guys know and Jeff Eats knows, that “mom & pop”-red sauce Italian joints are a dime a dozen down here in South Florida. No ifs ands or buts, almost every dumpy-strip center has one of them. For the record, we also know-that these strip center pizza joints aren’t solely- indigenous (I did go to college)- to South Florida, all 50 states got them…

Anyway,

Jeff Eats and a couple of buddies recently had lunch at Salvatore Pizza and I gotta tell you, I loved the joint.

When you check Salvatore Pizza’s menu at salvatoreinhialeah.com, you’re gonna find the expected full-boat of appetizers/pizzas/pastas/subs/salads/calzones-stromboli/entrees/desserts.

Jeff Eats and Buddies Jeff Eats ordered…veal parm sub (8″-$9), meatball sub (8″-$7), large plain pizza (16″-$11), calzone ($13) and I-must tell you, Salvatore Pizza killed it! No fooling here, everything was delicious.

Now, you guys know that Jeff Eats really isn’t into lists or rankings, but the- calzone stuffed with ricotta/mozzarella/romano cheeses definitely deserved a special shout-out! So- HELLO CALZONE!!

Nothing fancy going on at Salvatore Pizza. Solid and I do mean SOLID pizza joint stuff.

Like I said 4 seconds ago, Jeff Eats loved Salvatore Pizza.

The perfect Jeff Eats’ lunch…red sauce galore, loads of Coca Cola, good friends, plenty of napkins and no Mrs. Jeff Eats’-drama… bitching about- how I was stuffing my face, hadn’t taken a “lactose” pill and how I would be up all night gagging from indigestion.

Salvatore Pizza, Pasta & Subs is open Monday-Thursday 10am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 10am-11pm, Sunday noon-10pm.
