Real short story to tell you guys…

Last night- I had a couple of guys doing some handyman stuff around my Boca Raton home. The guys took a dinner break and brought back 2 pizzas from Giovanni’s Pizza (a hole in the wall pizza joint which maybe has 5 tables- which I must have driven-by something like a 1,000 times, but had never tried) and I helped myself to a couple of slices from each pie!

Both the New York Style Pepperoni Cheese Pizza and the Chicago Deep Dish Pizza were seriously off the chart delicious!

That’s the story in a nutshell.

Based on the pizza, in the near future- I’m definitely gonna make it my business to get over to Giovanni’s and try some of its other stuff-out!

Giovanni’s is open Tuesday-Sunday 4pm-midnight/closed Monday.

One final thought, for all of you would be burglars out there (who maybe contemplating an unannounced visit tomorrow night- to the Eats’ residence)- our next-door neighbor’s dog Louie is gonna be babysitting our house while we’re at the show! Please don’t judge a book by its cover- Louie really is a very sweet puppy!

***** Panda All Natural Soft Black Licorice.

First things first- since I was a kid, I’ve loved black licorice! For those of you who may care- I like red licorice but I love black licorice! For you guys who maybe really sick (I mean really care)- Mrs. Jeff Eats doesn’t like black or red licorice!

Anyway,

About a week-or-so-ago, I came across Panda All Natural Soft Black Licorice while shopping at Publix, 3003 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33434, (561) 241-5005- and spotted a whole bunch of bags of Panda All Natural Soft Black Licorice. Being a wild and crazy guy- I decided what the heck- and decided to give the Panda brand a try- purchasing 2 bags for $7.90 (for those of you who are math-challenged- that’s $3.87 a bag😜)!

Long story short- absolutely delicious! Now I’m not gonna name names- like Twizzlers Black Licorice Twists or Twizzlers Black Licorice Nibs but trust me when I tell you that Panda All Natural Soft Black Licorice ran/runs absolute circles around most of the black licorice brands that you’ll find at Publix, Walmart, Target, Costco, Winn-Dixie etc.

If you like black licorice- you gotta try Panda All Natural Soft Black Licorice!

Like I said 4 seconds ago, I got my Panda All Natural Soft Black Licorice at the Publix by my house in Boca Raton. A cursory internet search turned-up a ton of online/brick and mortar Panda retailers!

Real simple concept working there- breakfast/lunch, table/booth/counter seating, open Monday-Friday 6am-2pm/Saturday 7:30am-11:30am/closed Sunday.

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently ate lunch at the Riverview Sandwich Shop- and everything we ordered was right on the money. For you guys into “frills”- this joint is about as “frill-less” (or is it- no frills, or unfrilly?) as they come- forewarned is forearmed!

Like I said 2 seconds ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently did lunch and I gotta tell you that the combination of the joint’s food, pleasant service, reasonable prices and 1980’s decor- made the Riverview Sandwhich Shop a winner in our book!

Got an absolutely terrific sub/sandwich/salad joint for you guys- Franky’s Deli Warehouse in Hialeah.

Real simple concept working here- order/pickup at the counter, handful of tables/counter seating.

Yesterday afternoon- Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats ate at Franky’s Deli Warehouse for the first time and we all agreed- that it was one of the best sub/sandwich/salad joints that we had ever eaten in! Trust Jeff Eats on this, to get Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats to “agree” on anything, is nothing short of being a miracle- so take it to the bank that Franky’s Deli Warehouse is absolutely terrific!

Off the chart reasonably priced delicious food- hole in the wall “decor”- super pleasant counter service, makes Franky’s Deli Warehouse an absolute must try!

Jeff Eats first found this joint- back in December, 2014…since then I’m thinking that I’ve probably eaten there something like 8 or 9 times- and each and every time Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor’s stuff was right on the money!

The reason for this latest shout-out…its $17.95 Tour Of Italy Special- 1/2 lasagna/ 1 chicken parm/ 1 meatball/ 1 sausage/ 2 garlic rolls/ soup or salad- which I had for dinner last night! Absolutely delicious! For the curious, Mrs. Jeff Eats is/was in NYC visiting her sister, Marcia.

Let me wrap this tale up for you guys by saying- if you live or work near Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor- give it a shot!

Real simple concept going on here at…Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza- order at the counter/food delivered to your table. The joint seats 60.

Jimmy Brooklyn’s is a relatively new-player in the Wellington pizza arena…its only been around for something like 3- months.

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently did dinner and I gotta tell you, we really enjoyed the joint. First things first, the décor is real-cool, with all kinds of NYC-Brooklyn flavored decorations. If you ain’t from Brooklyn/NYC- not too much that I can say, but hey!-the joint is called Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor with the operative word here being BROOKLYN’S.

Anyway,

Jimmy Brooklyn’s menu has the expected full-boat of appetizers, pizzas, salads, subs, pastas, meat/chicken entrees/desserts. You can check jimmybrooklynpizza.com for menu/prices/info.

Like I said 3.8 seconds ago, you order at the counter-they bring the food to your table.

The meal…Caesar salad (large-$7.95), meatball roll (mozzarella/romano cheese-$9.50) tortellini alfredo (2 garlic rolls-$11.50), slice of cheese pizza ($2.00), Sicilian slice of pizza ($2.50)–everything was A-OK! Second things second, Jimmy Brooklyn’s does slices- so, if pizza is your game, you can order a bunch of slices with different toppings-instead of getting stuck with a whole pie etc. etc. etc!

Let Jeff Eats wrap this up for you,

Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlors’ food is as good- as that served-up by most of the “mom & pop” red sauce joints-that dot South Florida’s dumpy strip center landscape. Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlors’ prices are comparable to the “mom & pop” joints- but for the same money, the “mom & pop” joints- give you full service-and “more” food in the pasta/entrée department (ie, unlimited garlic rolls and soup/or salad)- on the other hand, Jimmy Brooklyn’s Pizza Parlor kinda limits your “tip” exposure.

Like I said before, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats enjoyed the joint…it’s definitely worth a try!
