In 1967, a little-known vocal group called the 5th Dimension recorded the song “Up, Up and Away” which catapulted the group to instant stardom. Countless magazine covers, world tours and several Grammys later, the 5th Dimension is recognized as one of the most prolific soul, R&B groups in musical history.

The 5th Dimension has made over 25 million in sales with 22 Top 40 hits and five No.1 songs, including “Up, Up and Away,” “Wedding Bell Blues,” “One Less Bell to Answer,” “Last Night I Didn’t Get to Sleep At All,” and the iconic “Aquarius/ Let the Sunshine In”. They have performed on the world’s most famous stages, including Radio City Music Hall alongside Frank Sinatra and the Hollywood Bowl, and delivered unforgettable television performances on the Ed Sullivan Show, Soul Train and The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. The 5th Dimension has secured its position in the Grammy Hall of Fame, with 14 gold records, six platinum records and six Grammy Awards.

In 2015, The 5th Dimension celebrated 50 years of extraordinary entertainment. Original member Florence LaRue and company continue to deliver dynamic performances that stand the test of time and captivate audiences from Las Vegas to Manila, Philippines.

While remaining true to their original, five-part harmonic sound, The 5th Dimension remains versatile, attracting audiences of all ages and nationalities. Within the last decade, The 5th Dimension has taken the stage with several prestigious symphony orchestras, entertained at the White House and performed for families at Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida, demonstrating the groups diverse appeal. The iconic group continues to sell out venues across the United States, Europe and Asia.

According to a recent review by White Plains Citizens, ”[The 5th Dimensions’] voices and harmony are stronger, more emotional and as meaningful, perhaps more meaningful than when they first became hits in the 1965-1975 era. Today’s Dimensions deliver a tight, personal show, as crisp as old top 40 Radio.”

* Michael Lang, Woodstock Organizer, Dies at 77.

From hollywoodreporter.com

BY RYAN GAJEWSKI

Michael Lang, Woodstock Organizer, Dies at 77
After helping to create the original 1969 festival, Lang was also behind follow-up events Woodstock ’94 and Woodstock ’99.

Michael Lang, co-creator of the legendary Woodstock Music and Art Fair in August 1969 that proved to be a generation-defining touchstone, has died. He was 77.

Lang died of complications from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at Sloan Kettering hospital in New York City, a representative confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

A Brooklyn native, Lang dropped out of New York University before heading to the Miami area to organize music events, including the 1968 Miami Pop Festival, which featured Jimi Hendrix.

Lang later moved to Woodstock, N.Y., where he worked with Artie Kornfeld and partners Joel Rosenman and John Roberts to plan the famous festival, which took place from Aug. 15-18, 1969, on Max Yasgur’s farm near Bethel, N.Y. The massively attended event became a signature moment for the counterculture movement and showcased such performers as Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Grateful Dead, the Who, Carlos Santana, Sly and the Family Stone, Joe Cocker and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

“Woodstock offered an environment for people to express their better selves, if you will,” Lang told Pollstar in 2019. “It was probably the most peaceful event of its kind in history. That was because of expectations and what people wanted to create there.”

Lang, who was portrayed by Jonathan Groff in Ang Lee’s 2009 film Taking Woodstock, also produced follow-up events Woodstock ’94 and Woodstock ’99. He helped plan Woodstock 50, which was set to take place in August 2019 until the concert was ultimately canceled.

He is survived by wife Tamara and his five children, Shala, Lariann, Molly, Harry and Laszlo.

***** Granger’s Grille, 802 Southeast 5th Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida 33483, (561) 276-7881.

Do you guys know what scarily good means? Well, Granger’s Grille in Delray Beach is scarily good.

Real quick story…

Hole in the wall with scarily good American-Style food located at 215 Northeast 6th Avenue, Delray Beach after 23 years was forced to move- because the landlord sold the building it was in. A few months later (January, 2017) the “former” hole in the wall re-opened 3-times larger at 892 Southeast 5th Avenue, Delray Beach serving the same scarily good American-Style food!

All Jeff Eats can tell you guys, is that if you’re into absolutely dynamite burgers/ wings/ bbq ribs/ fried zucchini/ onion rings/ French fries/ tuna salad/ chili/ fried chicken/ onion soup/ meatloaf so-on and so forth, portions that could choke a horse, super reasonable prices and a staff that can’t do enough for you- Granger’s Grille is a must try for you!

You can check menu/info at grangersgrille.com.

Granger’s Grille is open Sunday noon-8pm, Monday-Friday 11:00am-9:30pm.

***** Granger’s Bar & Grill, 215 NE 6th Avenue, Delray Beach Florida 33483, (561) 276-7881.

Let’s call Granger’s “a story that bears repeating”…

Jeff Eats has been eating at Granger’s for years and I gotta tell you, the joint’s food always kills!…great burgers, wings, meatloaf, barbecue ribs, salads, onion rings, soups, French fries, sandwiches- you name it- and this no frills American-Style hole in the wall-makes it just right!

Granger’s Bar & Grill is an absolute must try!

I love this joint! Trust Jeff Eats when I tell you, you will too!

***** Granger’s Bar & Grill, 215 NE 6th Avenue, Delray Beach Florida (561) 276-7881.

Granger’s is a 38 seat bar-grill located on Federal Highway. The joint has something like 10 seats at the bar and a handful of booths and tables…one waitress-one busgirl-3 in the kitchen and that’s the whole shooting match. By the way, the waitress and busgirl are also the bartenders. The bathrooms are out-houses in the parking lot.

Granger’s food is absolutely great. Appetizers, burgers, salads, main dishes everything is delicious. How that little kitchen bangs out so much delicious food is beyond me, but in the 30-40 times that I have eaten at Granger’s everything was right on the money.

I am telling you, that this little joint is a MUST for you. Wear tee shirt/shorts so you don’t look stupid. The joint is open Monday-Saturday for lunch and dinner. The prices are also dirt cheap and if you are there on a Saturday Night you have to try the brick of meatloaf that is one of this joint’s specialities.

From the outside, Granger’s looks like a D U M P. Try it, you will love it.
