Let’s see…back on May 8, 2009 I did a writeup on a “New York Style” bagel-deli joint named, Flakowitz of East Boca. Check that review at your leisure. Basically, I said good for breakfast, not so good for lunch and dinner. Anyway…I’m not sure of the politics or business here, but from what I gather, over the years/and currently, there are and continue to be a number of Flakowitz joints in South Florida that were/are owned by different people. So…Flakowitz of Boynton is not affiliated with any other Flakowitz.

That said…this review is about FLAKOWITZ of BOYNTON. You can check the joint’s website at www.flakowitz.com for menu/prices.

Flakowitz of Boynton is one of the best “bagel-deli” joints that I have eaten in South Florida. Very good bagles. Delicious appetizing. Very good deli meats. Large portions. Very reasonable prices.

If your game is “bagel-deli” joints…Flakowitz is for you. I recently did breakfast and dinner…like I said, very good bagels (did an “everything” and “poppy”) and a delicious–western. Tried the corned beef, pastrami, brisket, tuna salad and stuffed cabbage…top-notch for a bagel-deli. Also, really enjoyed the matzoh ball soup and roast chicken.

Flakowitz is open 7 days a week 7am-7:45pm.

Got a real good semi-upscale Italian joint for you guys to checkout, Novello Restaurant & Bar in Boca Raton.

Real simple tale to tell, last night Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats, Son Jeff Eats and a couple of friends “discovered” Novello Restaurant & Bar and I gotta tell that its food and service absolutely killed! Inside (2 dining rooms) and large out-door patio “white cloth” table seating, full liquor bar, moderately priced Italian menu, attentive-professional wait-staff, hands on owner- Marco Tufano making the rounds to every table.

For you guys who maybe wondering, white table cloths or no white table cloths- your tee shirt/shorts ensembles will definitely work at Novello Restaurant & Bar!

Two Marines boarded a quick shuttle flight out of Dallas, headed for Houston.

One sat in the window seat, the other sat in the middle seat.

Just before take-off, an Army soldier got on and took the aisle seat next to the two Marines.

The Soldier kicked off his shoes, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the Marine in the window seat said, “I think I’ll get up and get a coke.”

“No problem,” said the Soldier, “I’ll get it for you.”

While he was gone, the Marine picked up the Soldier’s shoe and spit in it.

When the Soldier returned with the coke, the Marine in the middle seat said, “That looks good, I think I’ll have one too.”

Again, the Soldier obligingly went to fetch it and while he was gone, the Marine picked up the soldier’s other shoe and spit in it.

The Soldier returned and they all sat back and enjoyed the rest of the short flight to Houston.

As the plane was landing, the Soldier slipped his feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened.

“How long must this go on?” the Soldier asked.

“This fighting between our services?

This hatred?

This animosity?

This spitting in shoes and peeing in cokes?”

Got a real good “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joint for you guys to check-out, Nancy’s Pizza in Stuart.

Real simple tale to tell- last night, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Nancy’s Pizza and I gotta tell you guys- that the joint’s food absolutely killed! Table/booth/hi-top seating, reasonably priced menu featuring appetizers/soups/salads/pizzas/calzones/strombolis/ hot & cold subs/ entrees/desserts, open Sunday-Wednesday 11am-9pm/Thursday-Saturday 11am-10pm.

Like I said 2.1 seconds ago, Nancy’s Pizza’s food absolutely killed!

Trust Jeff Eats when I tell you that Nancy’s Pizza is an absolute winner joint. Just between you and me, I kinda think that I know my stuff when it comes to “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joints and I’m telling you guys that “Nancy” is turning-out some awesome stuff!
