Sam & Morris met in the park every day to feed the pigeons, watch the squirrels and discuss world problems.

One day Morris didn’t show up. Sam didn’t think much about it and figured maybe he had a cold or something.. But after Morris hadn’t shown up for a week or so, Sam really got worried. However, since the only time they ever got together was at the park, Sam didn’t know where Morris lived, so was unable to find out what had happened to him.

A month had passed, and Sam figured he had seen the last of Morris, but one day, Sam approached the park and — lo and behold — there sat Morris! Sam was very excited and happy to see him and told him so. Then he said, ‘For crying out loud Morris, what in the world happened to you?’

Morris replied, ‘I have been in jail.’

‘Jail!’ cried Sam. ‘What in the world for?’

‘Well,’ Morris said, ‘you know Sue, that cute little blonde waitress at the coffee shop where I sometimes go?’

‘Yeah,’ said Sam, ‘I remember her. What about her?’

‘Well, one day, she knew I had money, and she filed rape charges against me; and, at 89 years old,

I was so proud that when I got into court I pleaded ‘Guilty’.

‘The damn judge gave me 30 days for perjury.’

Trust Jeff Eats on this one, I know my donuts!

With the above in mind, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently “did” donuts at Donuts To Go in Sanford and I gotta tell you, the joint’s donuts are totally off the chart-delicious! Not really into the “ranking game”- but if I was, which I’m not, I’d rank Donuts To Go’s donuts right up there with the best I’ve had here in Florida as well as elsewhere! Donuts To Go also does- a handful of real-good breakfast sandwiches/items!

Let me wrap Donuts To Go up for you guys…no frills donut shop, order-pickup at counter, handful of tables, terrific donuts and delicious breakfast sandwiches/items!

Donuts To Go is open Monday-Friday 6am-6pm, Saturday-Sunday 6am-2pm.

Real short and simple tale to tell…over the years, I’ve been hearing about Italian restaurant Il Gabbiano in Miami. A countless number of people told me that Il Gabbiano was one of the best upscale Italian restaurants in Florida, not to mention, America! That said, last night Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats ate at Il Gabbiano and I gotta tell you guys- that right off the top of my head, I can name at least 25 “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joints (located within a 30 minute drive from Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton abode) that- have better food/ service/ prices, larger portions and don’t take themselves too seriously!

Now, you know and I know that this food reviewing gig- is purely a subjective call- you know, what I like, you may hate and vice versa- but I gotta rate this joint as an absolute “tourist trap” that’s serving-up overpriced just passable food, with a uniformed wait-staff that hasn’t got a clue as to what top-notch service is all about – and except for maybe 1-or-2…can speak Italian and actually know that Italy is a country!

Look, I could go on and on, as to why this restaurant isn’t “for me”…

Got a real good Italian Ice/Soft Serve Ice Cream/Gelati joint for you guys to checkout, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice in Boca Raton.

Real simple tale to tell, Jeremiah’s is a fast growing Italian Ice franchise (since 2019) which currently has stores spread-out over Florida. Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas. Three weeks ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff “discovered” Jeremiah’s Boca Raton joint and have been back 5 times since that initial outing. Order/pickup at inside counter/outside walk-up windows, handful of inside/outside tables, reasonably priced- 40 rotating and seasonal Italian Ice flavors/ vanilla-chocolate soft serve/ loads of toppings menu.

Now, just between you and me, I kinda think that I know my Italian Ices and Soft Serve Ice Cream and I’m telling you guys that Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is turning out absolutely delicious stuff!

Like I said a few seconds ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have been to Jeremiah’s 6 times (between 7:30-9:30pm) and each and every time- there were lines both inside and outside with people waiting to order. In addition, every table inside/ outside was taken. Of interest, all ages were there.

Not sure as to how it all plays out franchise wise, but for right now, the Jeremiah’s (which opened in Boca Raton on June 28th, 2021)) looks like a home-run business!

I mowed my lawn today and after doing so I sat down and had a cold beer.

The day was really quite beautiful, and the drink facilitated some deep thinking.

My wife walked by and asked me what I was doing. and I said, “Nothing.”

The reason I said “nothing” instead of saying just thinking” is because she then would have asked, ‘About what?” At that point, I would have had to explain that men are deep thinkers about various topics, which would lead to other questions.

Finally, I pondered an age-old question: Is giving birth more painful than getting kicked in the nuts?

Women always maintain that giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts, but how could they know? Well, after another beer and some more heavy deductive thinking. I have come up with an answer to that question. Getting kicked in the nuts is more painful than having a baby and even though I obviously couldn’t really know, here is the reason for my conclusion:

A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, it might be nice to have another child.”

But you never hear a guy say.

“You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts.’

I rest my case. Time for another beer. Then maybe a nap.

Simple tale to tell, yesterday, Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and eight long time “Brooklyn” friends “discovered” Packy’s Sports Grill and I gotta tell you that its food was absolute dynamite! Inside table/booth/hi-top seating, outside patio table/hi-top seating, separate full liquor bar, loads of tvs inside and outside, pool table, reasonably priced appetizers/ salads/ sandwiches/ wings/ soups/ burgers/ entrees/ desserts menu, super pleasant staff, events calendar- food & booze specials/ live music/ karaoke/ poker/ outdoor car shows.

Let’s wrap Packy’s Sports Grill up- by saying that Packy’s real good food, reasonable prices, terrific staff, no frills decor and no fancy schmancy anything, make it a winner!
