EVENT DETAILS
Experience an evening with two comedy legends: Rita Rudner and Robert Klein.

Named Las Vegas’s Comedian of The Year nine years in a row, Rita Rudner is known for her epigrammatic one-liners. She started her standup career in the late 70s, and made her debut on Late Night with David Letterman in 1982. She has recorded several award-winning comedy specials, most notably Rita Rudner: Born to Be Mild, Rita Rudner: Married Without Children, Rita Rudner: Live From Las Vegas and most recently 2018’s A Tale of Two Dresses. Rita is an accomplished writer of five books and frequent collaborator with her writer/producer husband Martin Bergman.

For more than forty years, Robert Klein has entertained audiences, and he continues to have an acclaimed career in comedy, on Broadway, on television, and in film. A pioneer in modern stand-up comedy who inspired heavyweights like Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld, Robert brings his genius to The Parker showcasing his comedy, musical, and theatrical talents! Klein enjoyed many popular and influential comedy albums in the 1970s and was nominated for a Best Actor in a Musical Tony Award for 1979’s They’re Playing Our Song. Klein regularly appears on talk shows, making more than 100 appearances on The Tonight Show and The Late Show. He was nominated twice for Grammy Awards for “Best Comedy Album of the Year” for his albums “Child of the Fifties” and “Mind Over Matter.” Klein was also nominated twice for Emmy Awards for his HBO comedy specials.

  1. Joe Fontana says...

    Jeff,
I have never seen Rudner’s act.
I have seen Klein a handful of times. The last time I saw him, it was at kings Point in Delray in 2018 and he had severely aged and his material was old and stale.
Just checked, Klein is now 80 and he may very well be past his prime.

  2. Great combo.
I have seen both comedians (Boca Black Box) and they put on great shows.
These are legendary comedians, especially Klein, and I’m looking forward to buying tickets first thing tomorrow morning.

    Thanks for the heads up!

  3. Years ago my wife and I saw Klein and David Brenner at a Gilda Ratner benefit event in Fort Lauderdale. Brenner was very funny and Klein was flat. After the show, we met both acts back stage and Brenner couldn’t have been more pleasant about a quick chat and photos. On the other hand, Klein was very short with us and gave the impression that he was doing us a favor talking with us and doing photos.

From that date, Klein lost both my wife and me as fans.

A number of years ago I saw David Brenner at the Woodfield Country Club at a PAPs event and he was beyond terrible. He was a very pleasant celebrity but he stunk.
I also saw Brenner a few years earlier at the same Gilda event that you mentioned and he was brilliant and as pleasant as can be. I also recall that Klein’s act was flat and boring that night and he wasn’t the most friendly celebrity with the crowd.

Fast forward to shortly before COVID and I saw Klein at the BBB in Boca Raton and he was terrific.

      Go figure!

I guess like every other human being these guys have good and bad days.

I’m not getting any younger, so I’m going to purchase 2 tkts tomorrow. Hopefully it will be a great show, from two legendary comedians.

  4. Susan Gannon says...

I saw Klein just before Covid hit and he was as good as ever.

Really have no opinion on Rudner and have never seen her live show.

Klein for sure is one of the greatest comedians of all time. Rudner is well known, but her fame is kind of limited.

If the tickets for good seats are priced right, I’m going to pick up tickets for me and a group of friends.
