Got a real good kosher bagel joint for you guys to checkout- Lox & Bagel in Boca Raton.

Simple tale to tell, yesterday morning Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Lox & Bagel and I gotta tell you guys- the joint’s food was absolutely delicious! Table seating. No frills decor. Reasonably priced breakfast/lunch/dinner menu. Open Sunday-Friday 7am-3pm/4pm-9pm/ closed on Saturday.

Now, just so we are straight with each other, if you just can’t live without cheeseburgers, BLTS and bacon & eggs- Lox & Bagel isn’t going to work for you…that said, if you can “suck it up” – I am telling you guys that Lox & Bagel’s full boat of boiled-baked bagels/ breakfast stuff/ appetizing/ bakery items/ salads/ sandwiches/ pizzas & pastas/ entrees will make you a fan!

    Excellent bagels.
Ive eaten breakfast at least a 1/2 dozen times and their food is top notch.
You are right, no bacon here!

  2. Ira Geller says...

    Their bagels are excellent.

  3. Larry says...

Are they better than Bagel City South?

    • Ira Geller says...

I live 5 minutes from either bagel store.
Ive gotten bagels from both many times.
If had to pick one store over the other, I’d go with Bagel City South, but it’s a real close toss-up.

    • Larry Fine says...

I love Bagel City South’s bagels.

If I had to pick between the 2 bagels I’d go with Bagel City South.

  4. You guys got to checkout Bell’s Brooklyn Bagels bialy.com.

They are in Oceanside NY and make the most delicious bagels and bialys and they ship all over the country.

So far, I’ve found their bialys at FRESH MARKET. After you toast these bialys, they are absolutely delicious. They come in a 6 pack in the bakery department and run $4.99.

I haven’t found their bagels yet here in Florida.

I’ve had their bagels fresh at their Oceanside location and I’ve also had their bagels shipped to my home in Delray Beach.

Their bagels are delicious. I’m still hoping to find them locally here in Florida, but so far no luck.

You are right on the money on Bell’s bagels and bialys. I haven’t found their bagels yet in Boca Raton, but I did find their bialys at Fresh Market in Boca Raton. The bialys are delicious.

On who has better bagels Lox or Bagel City, it’s close but I’d go with Lox.

Went to fresh market on Military Trl & Yamato Rd in Boca Raton and bought 2 packages of 6 bialys ($4.99 per package) that you mentioned.
Just toasted one up and topped it with cream cheese and all I can say is WOW! DELICIOUS!

    Jeff,
The Kosher part of Lox story has kept me away from trying this joint. Trusted you on this one, so yesterday i picked up a mixed dozen and I have to agree that the bagels were extremely good. My usual bagel haunts here in Boca are, Bagel City and Way Beyond and I have to tell you, that Lox’s bagels are better than the other two.

  6. Steven Cohen says...

LOX’s bagels are excellent Real NY Style Bagels.

  7. Brenda Singer says...

Last night I stopped in at The Fresh market on Military Trl in Boca Raton and bought a 6 package of Bell’s Bialys at $4.99. This morning I toasted one of the bialys and ate it with a schmear of cream cheese and I have to say, that the bialy was delicious. Definitely one of the best bialys that Ive had here in Florida and Ive been living in Boca Raton for 31 years, via Staten Island, NY.

  8. Cindy Martin says...

Not a big fan of The Fresh Market.
Heard about these Bell’s Bialys so went to The Fresh Market in Boca Raton on Military Trl and found the bialys in the bakery area. I noticed bagged bagels as well, but they appear to be local product and were not from Bells.
Earlier this morning I toasted one of the bialys and had strawberry jelly and butter with it. No question, DELCIOUS!

These bialys are the real deal and I will definitely be buying more in the future.

While I’m on the subject of bagels and bialys, I’ve had Lox’ bagels and they were very good.
