Before -you read, I say it ain’t gonna work! Huge flop in the making!

There are so many reasons why it won’t work…for starters:

How do you keep the coffee piping hot during delivery? Or for that matter, ice-cold?
There are so many “variations” of coffees, tons of errors are bound to happen.
Literally, every home and office in America has a coffee machine-prepared coffee is one of the last items that Americans need to have delivered.

Starbucks To Launch Delivery System
October 31, 2014

Gone are the days of waiting in line, red-eyed, waiting on your drink from your favorite barista.

Starbucks announced on Thursday that it’s planning a new mobile and online service that will delivery coffee, tea and snacks to your home or office.

Starbucks chairman Howard Schultz told investors on a conference call, “Imagine the ability to create a standing order of Starbucks delivered hot to your desk daily. That’s our version of e-commerce on steroids.”

The new service will debut in Portland, Oregon next month and spread to other locations throughout the country next year.

With so many food delivery services like GrubHub and other on demand services like Uber, some wonder why Starbucks waited so long. Is Starbucks late to the delivery game? Let us know what you think on Twitter at @AOL.

Foods get delivered to houses and offices because you don’t have them in the offices or houses.
Coffee machines are in every office in America and home.
Just think how complicated and how much time would be needed to deliver some coffee to a suburb neighborhood home.
Maybe in NYC where there is a Starbucks on every corner where a delivery man walks or rides a bike a few blocks but in suburbia this idea is DOA.

    Jeff
I agree with you. Big time FLOP.
To may errors possible and timing will be a disaster.

  3. Anthony Franza says...

    Silly idea.
Just wait to they test it. The test will fail and you’ll never hear of this dumb idea again.

  4. ZED says...

Everybody has a coffee maker machine.
There is no need whatsoever for home or office delivery.
There is too much room for order error.
    There are huge delivery problems.
    Bad move.

How come Blockbuster never delivered cassettes?
How come most BKs, Wendy’s, etc don’t deliver?

Coffee is too small of a cost item to warrant delivery. Also its too complicated to fill all the different coffee requests and keep the coffee hot.

    This will be a disaster.

  6. Jake M. says...

In my office we have a coffee maker that makes all types of coffees.
We order at least 5 times a week lunch from various restaurants and takeouts.
If I had a dime for every mistake we found in takeout orders over the years I would be a rich man. Wrong bread, wrong meat, wrong this and wrong that.
Now I’m just thinking how many errors you can make with Starbucks coffee. I’ll bet you a ton.
Also the trick of coffee is HOT or Ice COLD. There is no way that Starbucks will ever get you HOT or ICE COFFEE just the right temperature.
Starbucks will test the idea and then quickly discard the program.

  7. We'll See says...

Have to agree with those who think it doesn’t work.
Can’t see coffee delivery being in huge demand anywhere.

  8. Jake L says...

This will be a tough one to make work. Two many variables when it comes to making coffee not to mention keeping hot or cold for during delivery.

  9. Ken W. says...

It will work in Big Cities only. They really don’t care as it has us talking about Starbucks… Free AD on Jeff Eats and Elsewhere!

    • Ernest T says...

I don’t think that it will work anywhere.

Coffee like Starbucks makes is too fragile of an item to withstand delivery.
