***** SEMINOLE HARD ROCK ROCK ‘n’ ROLL BEER-B-QUE *****

Back on May 31 2012 Jeff Eats “ran” the story listed below.

Looks- like it’s going to be an awesome event. AND–Jeff Eats will be one of the judges.

When you read the Press Release- you’ll notice that ONLINE ADVANCE TICKETS were originally priced at $35…and, DAY OF TICKETS were priced at $45. Well, a few days ago, the sponsors lowered the ONLINE ADVANCE TICKETS to $25. If you want to buy tickets online–go to the event’s website-and put 10OFFGA in the PROMOTIONS CODE BOX and you’ll save yourself 10 bucks off that $35 ticket.

If this type of “thing” is your bag…hope to see you there!
*****

Don’t have all of the details yet…from what I “gather” there is going to be a huge outdoor BBQ-BEER-MUSIC event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday, June 30th from 4pm-8pm.

Take a look at the “press release” I just received. Let me do some further checking and I’ll update you guys with details.

This one looks like it–could really be fun!!

*****

Eat BBQ, listen to R&R, drink beer! (http://www.seminoleparadise.com/beerbque/index.html)

The second annual Seminole Hard Rock Rock ‘n’ Roll Beer-B-Que, presented by New Times, gets grilling on Saturday, June 30 and if you like to have your meat smoked you’re not going to want to miss out on this event.

From 4 – 8 p.m., over 40 of south Florida’s best barbeque restaurants will compete by showcasing their grilling skills. Best of all, you get to try as many as you can — and vote for your favorite.

But meat is just one part of this trifecta of flavor because there’s no such thing as a Beer-B-Que without beer! Feel free to sample beer from a variety of popular brands, as well as craft beers from micro-breweries. Beerfest 2012 winners Misfit Home Brewers will be among the top brewers pouring their wares at the Beer-B-Que.

While all this is going on, get your groove on and rock out to live music from several local bands.

Tickets for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Beer-B-Que are on sale now and only $35 in advance ($45 at the door). A limited number of prepaid VIP tickets will be available for $70, offering one-hour early admission, seating in the air-conditioned VIP tent, access to an open bar with wine provided by Rex Goliath, special entertainment, and more.

June 22, 2012 UPDATE

The word of mouth about this event is really spreading. Based on what I’m hearing here in “food blogland” is that a crowd of between 2,500 -4,000 is expected. Don’t have exact ticket numbers, but a very reliable source told me that online sales have been excellent and assuming good-weather, “day of” ticket sales will be extremely strong.

If you check the event’s website you will find an updated list of “contenders.”

The way I see it, you really can’t go wrong spending $35-$45 for all the bbq you can eat–all the beer you can drink–all the Rock N Roll music you can hear. Just last night, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats ate at a sports bar. The bill $86 for 2 salads, 1 cheeseburger, 1 bbq steak sandwich, 1 chicken pot pie, 1 Coke and 3 beers. Get the picture? The only “negative” thing I see here, is the possibility of lousy weather. If the weather breaks the right way, this event is going to be an absolute homerun. By the way, I also heard that a “ton” of those $70 VIP tickets were sold. Not a bad deal, extra hour of partying–air-conditioned tent, open bar.

On the music front, I don’t have a complete list of the “entertainers” but, I understand that national recording artist and one of South Florida’s hottest bands “GHOST OF GLORIA” is scheduled as one of the headliners.

Oh! One other thing…Jeff Eats will be one of the judges.

**** Here’s a “gift” from Jeff Eats—if you want to buy your tickets online–enter 10OFFGA in the Promtions Code box and you’ll get 10 bucks off that $35 ticket.

Hope you guys can make it. AND if you aren’t a disgruntled restaurant owner, make it your business to say hello to me.

      Thanks for reading…

    thks for the link.
my husband and i will definitely be going.
that 35 a head for VIP is a great deal.

  9. SLIP M. says...

What the heck, for $35 I become a VIP.

  10. BOBBY MARTIN says...

Just bought a VIP for $35. Great deal.

  11. Marty K. says...

That promo code 10OFFGA worked like a charm. Bought 4 tkts for $25 a piece.
This is going to be a great weekend.
Hit the bbq and then see Ringo in the arena.

  12. Allie (Pompano Beach) says...

    Looking forward to meeting Jeff.
    Long time reader.
List of restaurants should keep us well fed.
Have seen Ghost of Gloria and they know how to rock.
    Going to be fun!

  13. ILOVETOPARTY says...

Do you really think that 2500-4000 are going to showup for this? Jeff! That’s a sh@t load of people. I always say the more the merrier.
Just hoping weather is right. A light cloud covering would be perfect so it isn’t too hot. I think last year they had about 1,000 so 2500+ would be a huge jump in numbers. It was a blast last year.

  14. KLA says...

I predict that this BBQ is going to be incredible.

The list of contestants is great.
There is all the beer you want.
Ghost of Gloria insures great music.
The facility is great and its outside.
Ringo Starr is headling the arena starting at 8pm that means the Hard Rock will be jammed. I saw Ringo last year and it was a sold out show and there were so many other people at the casino and outside listening to a Beatles tribute band that it was insane.
BBQ and Ringo are going to draw huge crowds.
    Just pray for good weather.

  15. John Kyle says...

    FOLKS:
This is going to be one of the biggest events in the Hard Rocks history. You got a huge BBQ event that runs from 3-8pm and then a Ringo Starr concert that starts around 8pm. If the weather is right, the Hard Rock will have thousands of people going to the BBQ and then 5000 going to the concert. Like others I was at Ringo last year and it was a total complete sell out. When we left the show there was a Beatles band playing outside the arena and there must have been a 1,000 people watching the band. The casino was mobbed and it was a great time. Last year there was no bbq.
Put all of these things together and the Hard Rock is going to be packed.
    I got VIP TKTS.
My wife and I are going to get there at 2:45pm and party for as long as we are able. We arent going to Ringo this year but have a change of clothes in the car just in case we get too messy at the bbq.
Treat this as a huge event.
    Go to the bbq.
    Party and gamble after Ringo.

  16. John Kyle says...

    Hey Jeff,
What’s your thought on maybe Ringo showing up at the BBQ?

    • JeffEats says...

      John Kyle:

Just had a chance to read your comments.

First, I agree with you that this event could be huge. Its seems that all of the “stars” just might be lining up.

On your Ringo possibly showing up…well you never know, but personally I wouldn’t count on it. But one never know, does one?

      Thanks for reading…

    • ILOVE1210 says...

      hey john,
after the bbq im going to see ringo.
ringo the night before is performing in st augustine.
i would bet that after his hollywood show he is staying at the hard rock and then leave the next day for clearwater where he performs on sunday night.
i think that you got a decnt shot for Ringo to show up at the bbq for a few minutes.
the event runs from 3-8pm so Ringo could be at the bbq for a few minutes at anytime.
how cool would that be having Ringo sighted at the bbq? it wouldnt help with either bbq or concert tkt sales but it would definitely cause quite a buzz in the crowd.
big question is what time Ringo arrives from St. Augustine. if its early enough you got a shot.

  17. Paula B says...

    Thanks for the VIP link.
My husband and I are looking forward to this one.
It should be a load of fun.

Jeff I’m a bit disappointed. I’ve been telling u about Blue Willies BBQ in Ft. Lauderdale by the court house is a must try….i’ve told u about several places that u really liked well this place is a grand slam for real southern bbq. Go on Thursdays for the pastrami or any other day for great ribs, brisket, chicken and other delicious stuff.

    • frank w says...

This is your fifth rave comment about blue willie. You are obviously a shill for the place.

      • JeffEats says...

        frank w:

Just had a chance to read your comments.

Just so you know, poster Jon g isn’t a “shill” for Blue Willies BBQ. Over the years, Jon g has written to Jeff Eats about all types and different restaurants.

        Thanks for reading…

        • frank w says...

That being the case looks like he is simply very anxious for you to try the place which as you probably know does get good reviews. My new standard for BBQ is Super Dave. Thanks for the correction.

  22. jane r says...

jeff, three of us were there. what a great time. plenty of beer food and music.
    we loved it.

  23. EFR says...

Jeff: My wife and I were there. We had loads of fun. The only complaint was it was so damn hot out there. I think that if they do it next year that they start it around 6pm so the sun won’t be so bad.
    Great time. Just too hot!!!
